Love coming here for barre classes! They are listed on ClassPass which is great or you can do a trial period before signing up. The teachers are all very knowledgeable about doing poses correctly. I love how every class is different so you don't get bored. They are all challenging but you don't get super sore so you can still feel good the next day! AIways get a good sweat and feel stretched out as well. read more

This is one of the most welcoming gyms I've been to! I've taken a couple of classes here on ClassPass and the instructors and front desk associates are always so nice and accommodating. Sometimes I find that boutique gyms can be a bit pretentious or don't like people who are there on ClassPass, but that is not AT ALL the case at Barre3. Everyone is so kind and it's very accessible for all fitness levels. I love the mural in the hallway and I appreciate the shower and lockers they offer. read more

This review is long overdue! To give some background, I definitely do not consider myself a "fitness person" and I have a hard time staying interested in one type of fitness for any period of time. For example, I'll get into running for a little and then will gradually get bored or phase out. Barre3 (at this studio in particular) has been the workout I've stuck to for the longest! The co-owners (Kimberly & Katie) are both very welcoming and will really make you feel like part of the community even if if you've just started coming to classes (front desk and other instructors are great too!) I think they knew my name by the 3rd or 4th class, which was impressive! The studio itself is clean and well-maintained. There are 2 rooms for classes vs. just one like at some studios. This is great because it means more class times! As far as the classes themselves, I love that they have the signature classes but now also strength and cardio to round things out. The signature classes start and end the same way each time but in between the moves/poses are different and each instructor has their unique style, so you never get bored or used to the same exercise. There are also many modifications that you can do if you have an injury or are a beginner, so definitely accessible to different ages/levels, etc. Definitely recommend! First class is free so definitely worth checking out :) read more

I'm not someone who loooves exercise. For the first time in my life, I look forward to working out because of this barre3. Amazing workouts, lots of class times offered, instructors and front office staff are sooo warm and welcoming. A challenge every time but also great for beginners or folks taking it slow after an injury because they offer modifications for every move and encourage everyone to listen to their body. The emphasis is on functional movement and there's never any body shaming / fat phobic commentary!!!! THANK YOU!! Literally how every gym should be, but isn't. It's overall such a refreshing experience and I always leave in a good mood for the rest of the day. I also appreciate the stocked bathroom (lotion, dry shampoo etc), tons of windows in the studios, and that they clean the equipment for you!! It's really the little things that make it easy to keep coming back. I hope they never change read more

I don't like to sweat. Due to a deviated septum (crooked nose canal), I have a hard time getting enough air. And I'm really bad with heat--as in I get too hot and can't cool down. So, it was intimidating to walk into the new Barre3 studio in Ballard to try out a completely new exercise routine and to know that I was going to sweat, probably get overheated, and have a hard time getting enough oxygen. Still, I had walked by the new Barre3 studio in Ballard so many times as it was getting built and set up and I often wondered, what was it like? Yesterday, I found out. And I'm glad I did. This is their opening week and I had signed up for a free class online. I got on the wait list but after I called to check on it, the nice receptionist said I was confirmed for the class. The rep was very friendly when I walked in. She had me fill out a form, showed me where to stow my stuff, took me on a tour, and then introduced me to my instructor Katie. Customer service = A+. The class? Well, I sweated (oh yeah, did I sweat). I got overheated (but then cooled down at the end). I had a hard time breathing, but that's nothing new (until I get surgery). Katie was a GREAT teacher and gave us options throughout the class so some of us (ahem) could slow down and/or adjust the moves to our level. This was all great, but I happened to choose a spot next to a woman who was like a Barre veteran. She did all her squats like a soldier, going lower and lower, and putting my moves to shame. Still, I kept up...barely. By the end of class, I thought, maybe I could be like her in like, three years? So, if you haven't tried out barre yet, check this place out. (I'm going to try the 3 classes for $40 special once I get back from vacay.) Who knows? I just might be in your class. Just look for the 40-something Asian gal sweating like mad, overheating, and trying to get more oxygen. read more

Such an awesome studio. Clean, bright, and all around great atmosphere. The owner and her husband are incredibly nice people and make everyone feel super comfortable and welcome in their studio! The bathrooms are impeccably clean and there's even lockers and showers! I also noticed there's free hair ties and bobby pins, because we allll know those things run away right when we need them. Definitely a cool place. I can't wait to come back and take a class! read more

Wow. I attended my first ever barre class here this past weekend, and I can't wait for the next one! The facility is located in a very easy to find, convenient spot right on the corner of 24th and 58th street. I lucked out and got street parking right around the corner fairly quickly, but I think there was also paid parking close by. Side note (and also a bonus): there's a QFC right across the street in case you need a quick snack or drink before/after class. When I walked in, I was really impressed with how inviting, yet modern, it was. Like I said, I've never been to a barre class, but I have attended yoga and Pilates classes and though those locations were very modern and "trendy" they didn't feel as inviting. Whoever designed this space nailed it. Kimberly, the owner, was very friendly and immediately came over to introduce herself to my girlfriend and me. It was apparent she was preoccupied when we arrived, but she made an effort to stop and say hi, and I really appreciated that. She lead the class we took, and it was easy to open ourselves up to a new experience with her at the helm. She had great energy, was really encouraging, and lead a really fun class! You almost forget your quads are burning and knees are shaking when she's cracking jokes walking around the room adjusting our positions :) The workout itself was one of the best group classes I've ever been to. I worked out muscles I didn't even know I have...but definitely still ache (so good!) almost 3 days later. There are 2 studios in the facility, and a beautiful women's locker room as well (I imagine the men's is just as nice as the women's). The locker room is stocked with various beauty products (hair ties, bobby pins, wipes, sprays, etc) and was cleaner than most 5 star hotels! There's a sweet child care area in the lobby of the facility that looked really fun for little ones, as a mother of 2 that's something I really appreciate. Don't forget to bring your reusable water bottles - there's a bottle refill station in the lobby as well. Environmentally friendly for the win! I live in Bremerton (a 1 hour ferry ride and 20 min drive away) and have a class package that I plan to use. That's the ultimate testament to how awesome Kimberly and this barre3 location! read more

I've been coming to this studio for about a month now. I started on the 2-wk new student pass and then bought the one month new student pass ($99). I was 8 wks postpartum when I started and completely out of shape bc I hadn't worked out at all during my pregnancy. I will admit, at first I dreaded going to class bc they were so hard, but after about two weeks, I got used to them, and now I love it. I have also finally been dropping weight (this combined with walking has helped). A few things I love: 1. They have childcare for $5. Hooray! This allows me to attend class several times a week. The childcare staff have all been great with my son too. 2. The classes are challenging. Every instructor kinda has a different style or muscle group they work more, I've noticed, and I do have my favorites. Rachel is definitely my favorite. She has a great personality, a fun class, and it's challenging. Her classes make my calves burn like crazy! If you need a good cardio class, I recommend Flora. If you push yourself, you'll sweat your ass off. The hour can feel so long but you'll feel great after! 3. The staff in general are all nice, friendly, and helpful. 4. They offer classes all throughout the day which I really appreciate. I hate when studios only have early mornings or late evening classes. 5. The studio is nice and clean and a convenient location. The only two negative I can think of- 1. Sometimes their classes are waitlisted 2. You have to cancel within 4 hours of class or you are charged. Super annoying but also motivates you to go! Wish they gave at least one or two freebies. Really love this studio. I highly recommend trying them. read more

Did a team building event at Barre3. Nothing like getting everyone pumped up like a class from Barre3 Ballard. Highly recommend them for team building event or just looking for a great workout. The owner Kimberly is just plain awesome! read more

I enjoy them very much! Before the pandemic it was a great spot to drop off the kiddo at their wonderful childcare center, then hit a class. Such great energy, for pretty darn reasonable prices. Now, they have Livestream classes, which has been really cool. No worries about them filling because they're virtual. Their rooftop workouts were fun, though on hold for now. A great place to exercise! read more

Barre3 classes are high energy, yet so relaxing. It's hard to explain, really. All instructors are just amazing, if I had to pick one favorite it would be Katie Fingeroot. Their classes are never packed, studio rooms are big and airy. I believe there are two showers and I never seen anyone in line there. Everyone is so welcoming, I love coming back! Give it a try, I never thought I would like anything that's not kickboxing, but I was wrong :) I also noticed that I'm more confident now, and feel much more feminine and strong. read more

Absolutely love Barre3 Ballard! It's my exercise addiction. Great teachers with engaging classes all to good music. Plus the results are a plus! read more

So far this has been the best Barre class I have attended in Seattle. Barre3 Ballard has a very inspired and motivational staff. Their communication was encouraging and their tones were vibrant without being loud or demanding. The class was intense, but doable for new people. WATCH YOUR OWN FORM. Even though their staff watches form closely they can not leave their area to adjust you. I saw many swayed backs, remember to TUCK that pelvis. My instructor was Kimberley, she was super energetic and created a supportive environment. I thought the space was nice too, not distracting but there were definitely had decor. I loved when i came into the room I could just walk up to an open class because it was set up properly. I hate wondering if a spot is open and the awkward, that's my spot mix up. I love how we all started in a circle and then moved to our spots for the floor work. Sadly, I didnt get any pictures because I was there with a private group for an event. read more

SIMPLY AMAZING!!! Working out and being active has been an integral part of my life. I've tried many different workouts from HIIT, Zumba, weightlifting, Pilates, yoga, etc. Throughout this process I've learned that I enjoy the group workout environment. It's more fun, you meet nice people, and there's a sense of accountability. I was very excited when Barre3 opened up in Ballard. I was debating on trying Pure Barre but this location was way more convenient. The facility is brand spanking new. It has 2 studios. One larger than the other. All equipment is provided so all you need to bring is yourself and some water. The best part is that I get to leave the house in flip flops to go workout! Now I know some people don't think barre is a hard workout, but I'd be willing to bet anyone who tries it that they'll find themselves shaking and sweating throughout the hour workout. It's no joke and it works muscles you never even knew existed. The staff/instructors are absolutely amazing! Kimberly, Katie, Maura, they're all wonderful and the routine is never the same. They're always encouraging you to keep pushing and they provide at least 3 different modifications to help with any aches and pains you may experience. I've never been in a class where the instructors are so accommodating to each person's need. The instructors always try to greet you by name and check in with you before class starts to make sure you're not in any pain or if you need special attention (ex. Pregnant, hurt back, old injury, etc). The only downside would be the parking. It's all street parking which is difficult to find in the heart of Ballard. It's do-able but you may need to go early in order to search for a spot. If you're looking to try it out I would recommend buying the 3 class pass for $40. I took one class and was sold on getting a membership! Give it a try it's a blast! read more

I've been going to Barre3 for a few weeks now and totally love it. I don't think I've ever been to a studio where the staff make me feel so welcome! They are all so friendly and accommodating. The workout itself is challenging-- I'm always so sore after class! It's a good mix of cardio/weights/stretching. I also like that there are always variations you can do of every exercise to make it work best for you. read more

Total body workout. Warning: It's highly addictive with inspirational instructors that focus on mind and body alignment. Didn't have any experience in yoga, pilates, or dance, but am thoroughly enjoying it! I'd highly recommend signing up for the monthly unlimited promo, bc it takes 3-5 classes to feel the difference and you start to feel stronger. I used to only enjoy high impact bootcamps, but this is a bootcamp in itself. I'll be going here regularly for a while. read more

Barre3 makes me happy. I was intimidated at first, but once I came in with a friend, I fell in love with the studio. First, the space itself is clean, sunny and inviting. They have thoughtful amenities like free towels and lockers, as well as bobby pins and tampons in the restroom. The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. The clientele is also fairly diverse, most ages, body types and skill levels seem to be represented. People aren't chatty (it is Seattle, after all), but everyone is pleasant and polite. The class itself is awesome! You get the focused core work of Pilates mixed with a touch of yoga breathing and stretching, plus a mini Zumba-esque dance break in the middle. I have noticed a big change in my body over the last few weeks and can't wait to keep toning! The instructors are fantastic and bring great energy and intelligence to each class. In short, barre3 is pretty much perfect in my eyes. Working out has become a highlight of my day thanks to their terrific team! read more

From the moment you walk in to Barre 3 in Ballard you are welcomed by friendly helpful staff. The space is inviting and clean which is hard to maintain with hundreds of people in and out every day but it has never been below perfect. All the instructors are motivating and positive and really make you feel like you are part of the family. The workouts are suited for just about anyone as all the exercises can be easily modified. Thank you Barre 3 Ballard for making working out so fun!!! read more

I love Barre3 Ballard! It is independently owned and I am all about supporting small businesses. It has a great community feeling- staff is always there to greet you by name and welcome you to the studio. The studio is beautiful and bright with everything you could ever need. The locker rooms have complimentary toiletries and lockers with keys you can take into class with you. The classes are challenging with your muscles shaking. The instructors provide kind and thoughtful adjustments throughout the class. They're always there to cheer you on with a "yes you can!" read more

I really enjoyed my first ever barre class! First, I consider myself an active person. I walk 3-5 miles everyday, lift weights, enjoy hot vinyasa flow, and also hike and ride horses. This workout left me sore in a good way! I never knew such little movements could make my muscles work so hard. The decor is great here, they provide balls, weights and hand towels too. If you're thinking about starting a fitness routine or just want to get fit, barre will do it and barre3 is a great studio to try! read more

Best barre studio ever. It's huge windows make it so full of light and energy, they hire AMAZING childcare, everything is always sparkling clean, and everyone that works here is the best. And obviously the workout is killer. I brought my husband once and he couldn't walk for three days. read more

My cousins and I just survived our first ever Barre class... barely. What an awesome total body workout! While I may have needed an adult pass on some postures, I really loved the pace of the class and the fact that I could feel so many muscle groups engaged throughout the workout. I took a class from Kayla. She's rad! She explains each movement and checks in with you the whole time. She's also super fun and made the experience really positive. Classes aren't usually my thing, but we will definitely be back to take a barre class with Kayla. read more

Love the facility! Very clean, and staff are very nice. I joined through the one month unlimited and became a member. read more

I just moved to Ballard and this is the only barre option nearby, but it definitely gets the job done. Compared to other luxury fitness studios, the prices aren't bad, and the studio is very clean and well-kept, so you get what you pay for. I love how personal instructors make the classes feel. I'm always asked one-on-one if I have any injuries before class, and the routines are very customizable depending on your skill. The system of online sign up and 4 hour cancellation is a fantastic motivator as well! read more

I've been here a few times and hands down recommend this place/workout. I'm postpartum (my son is 8 months old) so calorie-burning and efficient workouts are key for me. I like that they offer childcare while you work out, incorporate aspects of Pilates, and is fun yet challenging. If you're into strengthening and toning with a dash of sweat then def. try this place out :-) read more

I realized how out of shape I was and wanted to start working out. However, I was looking for something that I could ease in to and go a few days a week without hating it. Thank heavens for Barre3 - I've been going for over a month now and am absolutely addicted. The workout challenges each person at the level they are at and they encourage you to listen to your body. Amanda, Kayla, and Abby are absolutely fantastic instructors. The facility is kept remarkably clean, and I'm always impressed by the staff. I highly recommend giving this studio a shot if you're looking for a fantastic workout! read more

Ok, I usually don't write reviews on Yelp, even that I read them, I know bad :). I should contribute more, but in this case, I had to write a review for barre 3. I LOVE this place, it's amazing, clean, has super friendly instructors, all of them are so cool! Also really great people attending all the classes, everybody is super supportive! I love the environment, all the shakes and quakes, when we exercise. And I feel amazing after every class!!! I LOVE barre 3. Katie, Kimberly, Maura, Rachel! Yes, Katie, if you move your schedule from 6am classes, I will really miss you :)! barre 3 equals LOVE! keep up the great work! read more

What a workout! I took a class with the owner Kimberly. Don't let her sweet demeanor fool you, you're going to sweat and work hard and come away feeling great. Barre3 Ballard is the best! After living in Ballard for 5 years I was so excited for a barre studio to open in the neighborhood and Kimberly has done a great job. The studio is bright and airy, the instructors are personable and the classes are challenging. I really enjoyed the constant mix-up of exercises to keep me on my toes! read more

At Barre3 Ballard I not only get an awesome workout but actually look forward to going to the studio! Kimberly, the Owner, has created an inviting, warm, happy, and rejuvenating space. Her staff is wonderful and the studio is beautiful. I have been taking class at this location for almost 6 months and I love it more and more every time I go. I feel stronger than ever; I'm actually toned in my arms, legs, and core. Barre3 has been a great way to heal my body from my recent pregnancy and build strength to hold and play with my child. Every teacher is welcoming, helpful, and provides a solid workout. The childcare is awesome! I actually want to bring my baby because he loves the space and the caretakers. I am so grateful that Kimberly has brought this wonderful studio to the Ballard community. It is a place that has quickly become a part of my every day life and has made a very healthy impact on my lifestyle. If you want to feel and be stronger, live healthier in a very natural and intuitive way, and be happy doing it, I highly recommend Barre3 Ballard! read more

Studio is super clean, modern, and a great vibe. Folks were incredibly welcoming (I'd never taken Barre before and am about 35 lbs overweight and trying to get back into shape). Had a class taught by Rachel who truly has a gift for instruction. She was so positive and welcoming and I appreciated her focus on personal strength and empowerment. She asked me after how my experience was - I told her it was awful and awesome. Awful because these workouts are no joke and awesome because these workouts are no joke! I appreciate that you work up to bigger movements and very much appreciate the modifications that are recommended if you can't do something. No shaming or competition here! read more

I have been doing barre for over a year and fell in love with it in another city. Barre3 Ballard has a fantastic vibe and studio. The teachers are positive, energetic and encouraging. My girls loved playing in the child care area (nice to not need a babysitter and keep running after a workout!). Best thing about this facility though is that the owner is a kind, sweet person who puts her clients first! There is nothing better than knowing you are putting your money toward a butt kicking workout while also supporting a local business and great family! read more

This is like a second home for my sister, Maddie. She is always telling me how much she loves the workout & environment and I've seen her body get stronger through it, so I was eager to take a class when I visited her from out of town. Everyone I encountered was really welcoming and helpful. I was worried to do an hour long class, but it flew by! I really enjoyed the slow & controlled movements because although my body was burning, there was a sense of relaxation. I can definitely see why my sister loves this workout and location so much! read more

the studio is new, clean and airy with great bathroom facilities including a shower and a multitude of products you'd need to get ready. however these classes should be categorized as "cardio barre" rather than barre. the class i took this morning was frankly all over the place and the instructor didn't have a focus on a targeted workout at all - movements were exaggerated and all over the place and all together felt sloppy. read more

I was in an exercise rut several months ago when I heard that barre3 was coming to Ballard. I went to a few free community classes that Kimberly (the owner) offered at the Ballard Boys and Girls Club and was hooked! I have been going to the studio since it opened and have been so impressed. Kimberly and her team are amazing and have made the studio such a fun, welcoming place to be. I actually look forward to working out now, something I haven't felt in a very long time. It's exciting to see a local business do so well - I would highly recommend you try barre3 Ballard! read more

This is one of my absolute favorite workout places. Being new to Seattle, I've been trying a bunch of different barre places around the city and this one is extremely friendly, focuses on individuals and what works for everyone's bodies. The instructors don't try to bend your leg to go farther when it physically can't (I'm super stiff) like at bar method or pure barre. Not only can I literally walk across the street from where I live, the classes leave me challenged and he instructors mix it up every class. Katie and Kimberly are wonderful. read more
