The Barre3 community at Roosevelt is the BEST! I love the Signature classes and appreciate that they have now added a Cardio class and a Strength Class. The staff is very supportive and positive and make everyone feel welcome and at ease. All body types and ages are in attendance at every class which I love! Try it and I think you'll love it just as much as I do! read more

Three days into the COVID-19 quarantine and I'm already itching to get back into my workout routine... which includes getting my barre on at barre3 on Rooosevelt! First off, I love the location of this studio. Super accessible for folks coming from the UW, Ravenna, Greenlake neighborhoods and super convenient for batching a workout with errands (grocery store, quick lunch, coffee to-go). Parking is also a piece of cake in this area. The facility is on the smaller side with an intimate lobby, one studio space, one bathroom, a little play area for kiddos, and some cubbies for storing belongings. Bring a lock if you care to! On an intensity scale of 0-10, with 0 being binge watching Netflix's Love Is Blind and 10 being feeling like I worked out so hard I might throw up, the classes here usually land at a 4 for me. For those who have tried Pure Barre before, barre3 is a lot more toned down and incorporates more yoga/relaxation elements in comparison. While I enjoy this on most days, I sometimes wish the exercises were more challenging and came with additional modifications to kick the workout up a notch. Another small piece of feedback I have is about socks. Out of all the barre/pilates studios I've been to, barre3 seems to be the only one that doesn't require attendees to wear socks, which I don't love... If you're gonna make me do a plank and put my hands directly on the same floor that other people's feet have walked all over, can I at least request that those tootsies not be bare? To end on a more positive note, I've always really enjoyed the instructors here! While I haven't taken class with the same person enough times to build relationships, they always bring such a calming and positive presence to the room. And great playlists, too. I'll be looking forward to my next class at barre3 when this pandemic finally comes to an end. Until then, stay safe and practice good hygiene, everyone! read more

I first began attending Barre3 through ClassPass and have gradually transitioned to buying a bundle of classes. I had previously tried Pure Barre as well and between the two, I definitely prefer Barre3 for the following reasons: - Barre3 studio is more welcoming & non-intimidating and you will notice that there is variety in the demographic of clients. I've had men in my classes before and there are a variety of ages and body types. - Instructors offer modifications for almost every move/pose, rather than assuming that everyone can do all the moves in the same way. - There is variety in the workouts (e.g. the warm up doesn't always start with leg lifts, pushups, plank, etc. like it does in Pure Barre) - There seems to be more "movement" in Barre3 as opposed to holding pose for what feels like forever! Also there seems to be more emphasis on stretching and flexibility. All of the instructors I have had have been great in their own way! They are encouraging, upbeat, and helpful if you have questions after the class. I always leave the class sore and a little shaky, but feel like I'm making progress and muscles that I didn't know existed feel fatigued (in a good way!). Note that this class is generally taken barefoot (on hardwood floor) as opposed to sticky socks/carpet like Pure Barre. The facility has a single bathroom, lockers (bring your own lock), towels, and filtered water. One minor complaint is that when the class is completely full, it can be a bit crowded and you have to sort of maneuver your way so as to not run into your neighbor when doing the exercises in the middle of the room. Also, it does get pretty warm in the room but since you'll probably be sweating anyway, it's not a big deal. read more

I am a huge fan of this work out. I used to go to barre3 back when I lived in San Jose. It has a great combination of fast paced, heart pumping movements and slow, isolated movements. I love that the teachers give many modifications to make the movements easier or harder depending on your fitness level. It's also a great workout to improve posture and strengthen your abdominals. I was having back pains and my PT recommended this barre3 to help strengthen my abs and take some of the pressure off of my lower back. Additionally, this location is especially good Bc there is free parking in the lot in front of Whole Foods. Plus you can stop in at the Whole Foods for a post work out snack. read more

After attending a few classes, I am a fan of barre3. I have been consistent with my workouts the last 6 months and needed something to motivate me. I have seen friends review various barre studios, which is what interested me. The icing on the cake is that they offer a 1 month unlimited membership to all new students for $100. So far, Gabriella is my favorite instructor. I love how she takes the time to get to know her students, asks everyone if they have any current injuries/pain and encourages us to ask questions or concerns after class. I also find her classes a lot of fun and the music is good and caters to a variety of genres. The gym itself is clean. My only real critique of the place is that there is only one bathroom available. It would be nice to have a changing room or extra bathroom since it would be nice for those who don't have time to change before coming to class. In terms of the exercise itself, it has definitely help with my poor postured and worked muscles I haven't worked in awhile, especialy my hip flexors. Personally, I don't think doing barre alone will produce dramatic results but this is definitely a great class to add to another exercise regime. read more

I'm usually very hesitant to sign up for classes like this because sometimes you just really don't know what kind of experience you're going to get (#introvertproblems). I've heard so many good things about barre though, that I decided to pull the trigger on a Living Social deal. I found 2-hour street parking easily around the corner at 9:45 AM on two different Fridays. There was plenty of parking. The nice lady at the front checked me in, and I filled out a short waiver form before the class (you really should be at least 10 mins early for the first time) on my very first visit. The facility is very clean, plenty of cubby holes for safekeeping of belongings. Bring a water bottle, but no towel is necessary. My classes were taught by Ann and Kinsey? They were both very nice, super upbeat, and able to correct form while running the drills - attentive and supportive. Barre focuses on small, isolated movements to tone legs, arms, and core muscles - the class was segmented as such. Small exercise balls, 1-3 lb weights, elastic bands, and yoga mats are provided. Online class reservations are super easy and work for me. I had a fantastic experience over all and I will purchase classes after my Living Social vouchers are out. In 1-hour doses, barre is not too overwhelming but it definitely works muscles you may not even know you had. read more

Absolutely loved my experience here. Wonderful friendly, helpful, staff that make you feel comfortable. I took advantage of one of their packaged deals to try it out and loved it. My legs have never burned so much in a good way! Clean, beautiful studio. Long term, It's an expensive fitness option and I prefer HIT workouts and a little more variety in my everyday workouts personally. Only 1 bathroom at this location and no showers. My goal is to join ClassPass and do a Barr3 class once a week :) read more

Nice, clean & modern studio. Teacher (Gina) was very nice and accommodating to a number of new people (like myself) in class. She was very hands on in meeting everyone before we started and asking about limitations/concerns/questions as well. Parking lot in front of and under Whole foods. Standard Barre3 class format with possible "tools" including, core ball, weights (1, 2, 3, and I think 5 pounds), tension band, sliders, mats, and straps. Small towels available for use during class. Also have a child care area for those mama's in need! read more

The teachers at this barre studio helped me finally feel confident in my body even as I was gaining weight after an eating disorder! I've been going here for years and I am stronger and happier for it. The combination of a strenuous workout, guided breathing, and caring instructors makes this the perfect exercise studio for anyone hoping to work out without feeling judged. read more

I totally enjoyed coming to this studio. It is really clean and has a very peaceful feel to the interior of the studio. The first time I came, the electricity was out so the instructor just played music on her iPhone. She was pretty encouraging and tried to help me gain better form. She noticed that I was new and stopped by afterwards to introduce herself and give me some words of encouragement. I felt super sore afterwards. I'm used to running and cycling but not the stuff you learn at barre. It is definitely challenging and a different kind of work out. I thoroughly enjoyed coming here. The one drawback is parking. You can risk parking at the Whole Foods but you might get ticketed. read more

I tried barre3 at the Capital Hill location after friends raved about it. I was curious and tried it out. It's a good core exercise, and I noticed differences in my strength and posture. My LivingSocial package expires in a few days and I still have 4 classes left. But parking is a pain to find in Capital Hill so I was pleased when I learned that the Roosevelt location has a lot (although I have been told it fills up for 5:45 class), and street parking is free after 6pm. read more

I was skeptical of Barre3 at first because of the high price and seemingly niche market. I started with a new client special for a month to get into shape for a Hawaii trip and was hooked. IMO Barre3 utilizes more yoga (than PureBarre) and somehow turns a kickass workout into a meditation session at the same time. I always leave feeling a little wobbly, physically, and recharged mentally. They encourage you to find what works for your body and it works for beginners to experts. Instructors really vary from class to class and you'll find a lot more variety in the workouts day-to-day and weekly. This location is small, one bathroom, lockers, and a small childcare area. Free parking in the Whole Foods outdoor parking lot. Don't forget to pre-register for classes, especially classes with SaraRose, Nikki, and Crystal. All the instructors here are wonderful people and make it feel like home! read more

Love this place. Well run, great front desk help, great instructors (lots of instruction and encouragement), clean, well maintained, easy online sign up. Besides that, what a great workout. Your thighs, butt, and core will be shaking in joy! read more

Squeeze that ball! A great workout in one hour. If you go about 4 times a week you will be a solid, toned body after a while. I noticed my posture improved and I felt a lot stronger. Ballet barre, pilates, and yoga all wrapped up in one workout. I wish they built more than 1 bathroom in this small studio in Roosevelt but at least they have this new location in the north. The receptionist is really friendly. The teachers are nice too and I like how they learn your name. read more

Love this studio! I relocated to Seattle from San Diego and friends told me I HAD to try Barre3. Speaking honestly, barre has never been my thing. I think it's cause I never tried Barre3 :) The studio is clean, the instructors/staff are friendly, and I truly feel welcomed here. The workout is great during pregnancy and I feel very supported in my workouts. I love that they offer childcare as well, which will come in handy soon. I will definitely be coming here for a while and I highly recommend you try it too! I haven't been to class with every instructor (yet), but everyone has been fabulous. read more

I wanted to love it here because I love Barre3 in Bellevue. The Sunday class was just SOOO overcrowded. I could not stretch or properly do any of the exercises because of how many people there were inside. It made me sad to think that this is something they can control but chose to stuff more people into class. The instructor was great and I'm sure she did what she could. read more

This studio is so awesome! I started consistently attending this Fall after finally being given the green light from my orthopedic surgeon. I came in feeling very broken; both physically with a recent shoulder surgery, but also emotionally with the stress related to elderly parents, job, etc. Barre3 gave me a place to safely work on overall strength-building as well as an hour reprieve from the stress of the outward world. I know the instructors have no idea how much this place healed me, but I do.... It's been 5 months of attending regularly and I feel so strong! I come from a weightlifting, running, and crossfit background and this style of workout kicks my ass every time. Crystal & Erin are my fav instructors, but they're all amazing. Give it a shot! Every movement can be modified so there's no excuses. read more

Great instructors! Clean, inviting. Childcare for only $5 for your class. I've had great workouts here

While Barre3 isn't as demanding as Pure Barre, I still prefer Barre3 for its combination of barre, yoga, and Pilates. The only instructor I've taken class with is Crystal, who is is funny and gives a lot of personal attention to everyone in the class--she even comes around before class to ask everyone their name and remembers them! She is outstanding at recommending ways for you to make the exercises your own whether you have physical conditions that require modifications, are just starting and need to practice the basic level, or are more experienced and want to push yourself harder. The classes I've taken have never been too crowded to do exercises with correct form, too. After my first-timer class pass (a great value at $13/class), I signed up for another class pass. The one downside is the single bathroom, but there is a screen in the back that you can also change behind. Lockers, coat hooks, and cubbies are available for storing clothing, purses, shoes, etc. read more

After trying out many barre studios, this is my favorite. I love the instructors, the giant windows filling the space with natural light, and the community there. Amazing they offer childcare to the mamas! I'm hooked. read more

Have been here a few times using ClassPass and had a great experience each time. The classes are fun and high energy and you will definitely feel challenged by the number of reps. The hour flies by and you'll feel like you got a complete, full-body workout. Parking has been easy and the front desk staff is great and very welcoming. They took the time to help set me up and make me feel comfortable as a beginner. The only downside is that there is one bathroom for the whole studio, which can make it challenging if multiple people need to change, etc. read more

I had my first Barre class this morning and it was such a great experience. The front desk was helpful and gave me a quick tour and also the instructor Megan Hyde was amazing greeted me and checked-in with me and at the end of the class asked me she asked me how it all went. I'm very impressed I had a great experience and will continue to go here. Highly recommend! My workout was fantastic as well, the environment was warm and welcoming. I love this place! read more

I have attempted to redeem my Groupon for 1-mo unlimited use multiple times. I've called the studio twice (around a scheduled class) to establish my account, but no one ever answers. 3 times I have visited the studio in person and am told that I'd have to come back when someone who knows what they're doing can help me. This happened yesterday afternoon, when I arrived 20 min before the 4:30 class, the door was locked with a woman (with short blond hair) behind the desk making a personal phone call. She had me wait outside while she finished what she was doing on the computer, after an uncomfortable long period of standing outside, she unlocked the door for me (still on the phone) and told me to wait until she finished her personal call with her cousin. I sat for 10 min in the lobby, while she stood behind the desk and completed her personal call - I watched another customer try to enter for the class, the same instructions were given by the employee after locking the door again behind the 2nd customer. Both of us waited for the woman to complete her call at the front desk- obviously this was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. When she was finished with her call, the 2nd customer asked to attend the class using the same Groupon as mine. The employee told us to continue to wait until she prepped the studio. At that point, I told her that I was not there to take the 4:30 class, but to use my Groupon to sign up for the month in order to schedule future classes. This was an attempt to expedite her activities and let me go on my way, as she was giving the impression that her clients' time was not a priority. She didn't care and told me to wait. She walked into to studio, turned the music on, and came back to the desk where she finally addressed us. She took one look at my Groupon, one look at the computer, and told me that she was not prepared/knowledgeable in the Groupon process, and that I WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK AGAIN when the regular receptionist would be able to help me. This was my third and final attempt, the same scenario has happened multiple times. I have been to other barre studios in the Seattle area, and this has been by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. read more

My first time doing a barre workout. I have much to learn from a good barre studio and a bad one. Overall, my first impression was awesome. The owner was really friendly and helped me get situated. Lindsey was the instructor leading the workout. She was incredibly nice and provided instruction to the small class session in the 8:45am session. It seemed to be a hybrid of ballet, pilates, and yoga all combined into one. The best of all worlds =) I can tell you that I could feel my core, arms and legs burn... There were 1-3 lb weights in which I thought... was really pansy weights. Turned out 1lb weights made my arms burn! I purchased a new client special for 3 classes for 30 dollars. If the next three classes turn out well, then I guess I will be going again in the future. It is a fairly small classroom compared to another studio I have seen. I will be returning again soon to finish up the new client special! read more

Beautiful and CLEAN facility. Great workout. Wonderful teachers. A+ all the way.

My sister and I tried to go to this studio this morning to try our their barre class. However, when we showed up the receptionist said we needed a reservation. How would a new student know to make a reservation if you've never been? The receptionist was completely unhelpful and said she thought there may only be one spot left in class but didn't know. The instructor came out and said she thought she could fit us in, but the receptionist said they were still waiting on one more person even after the class should have already started. It seemed so silly not to squeeze one extra person in, especially people who are looking into joining. Very poor customer service, so we'll look around for other barre options. read more

I absolutely love barre3. I started going four months postpartum and I immediately saw improvement in my strength. It helped me lose the baby weight - and I look forward to each class! The instructors are personable and knowledgeable. Staff and owners are generous and learn your name. The space is welcoming and clean, plus they offer childcare weekday mornings. Parking is super easy at Whole Foods which is nearby. I can't say enough good things about this space! read more

I loathed working out until I did barre 3. Crystal is my favorite and pushes you! Love barre 3 and am a fan for life!

Sophie at Capitol Hill is amazing! I decided to attend class on Saturday at the last minute. I took my children with me as I thought there was childcare along with the 10:30 class. Instead, the childcare is only for the 10am class. Sophie was the receptionist at the time and she offered to watch my children from 11:00-11:30 so I could attend class. Thank you Sophie! I can't say enough about Barre3 and the great community and support I've experienced as well as great results! read more

Barre3 + healthy eating has been my secret in weapon in slimming down for my wedding. I've been doing Barre3 pretty much every day (though you could just go several times a week and still see results). I've noticed more definition in my legs, chest, and upper body, and an ever-shrinking tummy--I can even feel my abs now! Barre3 is a warm, welcoming and fun low-impact, one-hour workout that will challenge you at any fitness level. I see diverse ages and body types in every class I go to (both at Roosevelt and at Capitol Hill). If you want to really be challenged, I recommend taking Bo or Belle's class. Gabby's classes are super fun, and I love how holistic the entire experience is--her joy and enthusiasm is totally contagious. Although it's expensive ($145 for a membership, I believe) I think this has the happiness/restful experience of yoga, the challenge of pilates and will give you the lean body of the dancer (when combined with a healthy diet!). I definitely want to stick with Barre3 post-wedding; it's changed my life! read more

Barre3 Roosevelt has become my home away from home over the last year and I wouldn't have it any other way! I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. The staff and teachers are simply the best! Each teacher brings their own little spice of life to class and I love that, no class ever seems to be the same. I'm stronger than I have ever been and I have Barre3 to thank! Don't be fooled by the tiny weights by the end of combo work you will swear you are holding 50lbs in each hand. The small isolated movements will have you shaking in no time! Embrace the shakes and you will see a difference in no time! read more

This is a positive farewell letter to Barre3 roosevelt. I did the groupon two months unlimited here this spring, and absolutely loved every minute of it. Wonderful instructors, killer workouts, great atmosphere. Just an excellent way to sweat. I purchased a 5-class pass immediately and was thinking about joining on the monthly renewal as well. Unfortunately this summer I broke a vertebrae (It sucked, I'll be fine) and was told by a spine specialist and a PT recently that I could not do Barre classes any time soon, if ever. Too much twisting, apparently, for this particular vertebrae to handle. Lame, but better by far than other outcomes of a spinal injury. So I called the Barre3 studio in hopes of a refund, expecting them to need a note from my doctor or some such...and no problem! Understanding, sympathy, and an immediate refund. Thanks so much, ladies. And I am SO going to miss Bo and Crystal in the mornings. read more

I've only taken a few classes here (I also take class at the Mill Creek location), one from Angie and two from Bo, but all have been awesome. Angie will totally kick your booty, and Bo's classes are just FUN. I'm totally addicted, I wish I could go more often, but I can only make it on the weekends. read more

I've been coming to barre3 in Roosevelt for 7 months now and absolutely love it! The instructors are warm and friendly, the classes are a great workout and challenging, but there are always modifications for all skill levels. The studio is beautiful and clean, and al the props are in great condition. I'm moving to south Seattle but will continue to drive up to Roosevelt for these classes! read more

I'm completely addicted to Barre3! Every teacher is so nice and helpful. It's the best workout ever. It's a great community!

I love going to barre 3. The instructors are super friendly and helpful to correct poses and postures in a kind way. They also check in with each individual to ensure you're feeling good and the exercise is effctive. Classes during certain times fill up completely, so make a reservation online (which is easy to do!) read more

I have been wanting to try it for a long time, and finally decided to give it a shot. Thanks Crystal! read more

My girlfriend and I have gone to two classes at Barre3 Roosevelt and love it immensely! The workout is more demanding than we had originally expected, but I mean that in a good way. We both enjoy getting in our daily workouts and thought this would be a great way to mix up our daily routine and try out something new. When we arrived at the studio for our first class, we were greeted by a friendly Barre3 staff member at the front desk who gave us a quick rundown of how the class would go and answered all of our questions. Once we entered the studio where the class was going to be held, the instructor went around and greeted everyone and asked if we had any physical ailments or concerns that she should know about to help better instruct us during the class. The class itself was fantastic! One of the best things about it was we were able to go at our own pace. For those who are more advanced, they're able to add on exercises, and for beginners, they're able to take it slower, all while in the same class. We look forward to attending classes regularly and can't wait for our next class! read more

I have been coming here for about 6 months, and it has completely cured my overuse running injury. The focus on leg, butt, and core strength is really helpful for runners, and just in general. I feel so much stronger, and I have better posture. (I come consistently once per week.) Ann Stover is a total rock star, and I highly recommend her classes. I also love when I can squeeze in a class from Sarah Rose or Crystal Schue, although I have not been disappointed with any of the other instructors, either. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful, too. The other nice thing is that even though I've been coming for several months, the classes are still very challenging each time, so my body hasn't become too used to it. The instructors change up the activities so no two classes are the same. I feel great every time I walk out of a class. I also agree with the other reviewers that it's a bit more yoga-inspired than PureBarre, which I've also tried, but not at all easy like yoga can sometimes be. It's still difficult and plenty fast-paced, but with a focus on breathing, posture, and some slower poses. The physical space is also much more inviting than PureBarre, with a nice wood floor and natural light, rather than carpet and dark. read more
