My car was broken into as I moved my stuff out. Horrible location and up charges 3 times in 2 years. Put your stuff elsewhere!

Renter beware. 1. Your rent will be increased dramatically repeatedly with one month warning. I first rented in January of 2020. I have already seen two rent increases. My initial monthly rent was $117.72. My current monthly rent, eighteen months later, is $143.62. That is an outrageous 22% increase in just over a year! Clearly, they understand that once you are in, there is a burden to you changing storage vendors. 2. They have a "company policy" against pro-rating rents that they do not disclose when you rent. Accordingly, if you remain one day over the end of the current month, they will not pro-rate your rent for the next month. 3. They advertise the units as "climate controlled." There is absolutely no air conditioning in the building. Accordingly, in the summer, the units bake like ovens. There is minimal heating in the winter. While the units do not freeze, the temperatures can get quite cold. read more

I am in the middle of moving which is very stressful and I shopped around and walked into compass self storage on superior Avenue and Regina was very helpful. Not only was she very personable, she took the time to guide me into which size truck I needed to rent, she also helped me pick the storage unit size I needed. i returned a penske car carrier to this location early and they didnt bother to log the return so i am stuck trying to deal with penske so i am not charged for time i didnt have the carrier. i'm now playing tag with people and have already been charged mistakenly. not happy read more

I did get a great deal but the person who i spoke to on the phone left out an administrative fee of 50 dollars. It is absolutely necessary that all fees be disclosed to the customer when we are pricing the units and services.. I almost didnt have enough money to cover it.. These guys are amazing. Very affordable storage in a nice clean and secure building. I just moved from Boston to Cleveland. My moving truck called me and told me they were going to arrive later that day, but my new apartment's service elevator was booked for the day. So compass self storage saved the day and in less than an hour I had a 10x10 storage unit ready for the movers to unload into. read more

I just treated myself to a brand new grand piano which is very important to me and cost more than an arm and a leg. I not only did I want it to get to my new spot in one piece, but I didn't even want to risk it being scratched, bumped, dented, etc. When I called the movers and told them about the main reason for my move, they were on it and did a fantastic job of handling it when they carried it out of my home into the truck. All the movers were very respectful and kind. They made a good impression on me and my family who had come to help a bit. My mom was thrilled that she had referred them to her sister who was looking to move at the end of the month and has been trying to find a reasonably priced moving company. Definitely keep up the good work and keep the positive attitude. Very attentive to me and I appreciated that.

Patient states that she had hired a moving service to help move a lot of heavy items to her home. She states that she originally agreed to pay a certain price but yesterday when they arrived they wanted her to pay more money for them to move heavier things such as barrels and bags. She states that she refused to pay them so they left her stuff in the street. She states that she had no other way to move the items so she forced herself to move all of her things. She states that she used the right side of her body to help move and push the items. She states that now since then she has had pain to the right shoulder, side hip, leg and lower back. This increases with movement. Pain can radiate up the back and down the righ leg. " Nuff said! but I wanna state that it was a combination of Tina and Tim that literally tried to "milk The clock " not work -stand around while the one employee Jamison was busting his behind all by himself literally ...while the other bully Tim was standing above me, (while I was packing or even in front of my building )not working ! wasting time, charging me per minute, while standing still waiting for money letting minutes pass and then billing you for that !!!!practically as I reminded him he was" wasting time" (7 hour job - should have been left in its completion ) he took 7 hours and still couldn't compleate it ...btw I payed for 7hours $1500.00...! No answer and the mailbox is full. Impossible to communicate with. - December 16, 25. My in-person experience was relatively good - good enough that I was posting about it to family and friends with high recommendation. But the day after the move I went to set up my TV and discovered that the screen was severely cracked, having been (it seems) pinched in the top two corners. The crack spread across the entire top half of the screen. The TV works, but is unusable. I had to buy a new one, which cost me almost $200. I submitted the damage complaint twice and was not even contacted. For a company that calls and emails every day for a week trying to GET my business in the first place, that is particularly gross. As it stands now, I can't imagine ever using or recommending College HUNKS again purely because of the lack of response to my complaints, let alone lack of resolution. If you don't have anything fragile, sure, go ahead. But maybe move the fragile things yourself (my TV was the only fragile thing I did not move myself, and I sorely regret it). I will add that it was a 3.5 hour job that involved moving down from a second floor in a house and then up to a third floor in another house, and the TV was the only thing damaged. It was not packed in a box and the movers assured me they could use their TV bag and it would be fine. It was not fine.

We've been there 2 times in the last month. We we're dropping off aluminum and aluminum pop cans…read moreto recycle and get some cash. They're easy to get to from where we live. When you get there you drive inside the building and your vehicle gets weighed. If it's one type of metal you are getting cash for they have you drive back to the location for the metal drop off is. You unload your items then go back to the weigh in station and they weigh your car again. That is where they get the weight amount of the metal you've dropped off. You go to the cashier and they give you money. If you have different types of scrap you should have it separated and you can load up a cart with it and go to a smaller scale that is near the cashiers office. The only downside is having to unload your vehicle (especially if you have a lot). They take all kinds of metals such as copper, aluminum, steel, and aluminum cans. There may be others that I didn't list. Last time we were there they helped to unload scrap which we totally appreciated! Their prices are pretty good compared to some of the other companies in the area that also scrap metals.

But yesterday I finally reached out to Ohio Junk Force & had a reasonable estimate & an appointment time set for the next day! They let me know when they were on the way, & when they were here, they were extremely polite, professional & friendly. They took care of the items, (including one heavy, awkward item out of my basement) quickly & efficiently. Such a relief to have everything gone! And to know they will try to keep the items out of landfills if they can be donated or used by someone. Love that! Definitely will be my go-to for removing stuff that needs to go!

I've rented a unit at the new Superior location of Compass since they opened in September, and have been very pleased with my experience so far. Having an indoor storage facility anywhere, let alone within walking distance of Tower City downtown, is great! After I enter my security code, I can just back right in to the loading docks and be in my storage space in seconds. It's really convenient...and really, really relieving to come into a heated facility during these brutal winter months - and not have to freeze to death at an open-air outdoor storage space. The General Manager, Lauren, was so awesome. Each step of the move-in process was so easy - from indoor loading, complimentary soda/water/, great music in the hallways, AND the ability to drop off our Penske Moving Truck, which is an added bonus for this location to have storage units AND moving truck rentals in one place. The sleeve of Lauren's shirt says "We make it easier." Compass Self Storage goes above and beyond to uphold this promise. On top of all of this, the facility is state of the art and well-maintained.
