    Was given a car via my insurance Nationwide, after an accident. As you know, insurance company have…read morerates set, that differ from general public. I turned the car in after 22 day, and was met with a bill. I was told that I had to pay the difference of the $40.00 rate that the insurance company didn't cover. I said that was false, because they stay within the rate. I contacted Nationwide and the stated they had paid in full and that my rate was NOT $40, dollars. They even have the rate on the receipt as Nationwide and are fraudulently charging. I contacted the corporate office to report the branch for fraud. This was 2/20, 2/23, and 2/24! Not one follow up. Watch out for this branch! They didn't even provide me with a receipt. I had to call and ask what these charges were for and wait to be sent the receipt. I have not now contact the Attorney general's office to report this business for fraud. As well as reporting fraud to my credit card company. I should have only been billed for 4 days of insurance coverage and that's it! I don't even see where my deposit was applied to anything in this bill. How do you have a set rate for Nationwide and yet, are fraudulently charging general population prices after the claim is closed. They claimed they escalated the matter to the branch manager, who hasn't said a peep! Extremely unprofessional and unethical business practices.

    This was the worst experience one could have trying to rent a vehicle. I reserved an SUV. I was…read morelater than expected picking it up, so they had only vans. No problem. I passed my ID and credit card. The agent said I needed a second form of ID because I was from out of town. How does that make sense? Who is usually renting vehicles? People from out of town. I told him I should have been informed before I came to pick up the vehicle. He told me they don't share their memos with customers. No, but you should share pertinent information. Instead of his calling someone, he was quite nonchalant, even taking personal calls. He gave me a number to what he claimed was Enterprise. The person on the other end claimed to not understand yet never gave the phone to a supervisor as we repeatedly requested. Meanwhile, I noticed the agent still had my credit card and had his phone aimed toward it. I honestly think they are running a scam. I am watching my credit card purchases more closely. The agent did not I finally turned on my brain and walked across to the Enterprise and got a 7-passenger vehicle with no problems. I would not rent from here and they owe me for the wasted time. I had a reservation for a 7-passenger SUV. All I received was frustration. And perhaps discrimination, as I wore a wrap on my head for my ID.

Sticky wheel and the vehicle smelled like smoke, even though the window sticker says, "no smoking". No other vehicles were available, so I was stuck with this one. Upon leaving the lot, the attendant said I couldn't take the vehicle as it was sold. I had to unpack my luggage, return back to the counter. The issue was resolved 1/2 hr. later and left with the same vehicle. While using the car, the brakes were squeaking and pulsing as they needed replacement. My return was on March 5, 2026, at 4:45pm. At the counter, no receipt was available, they said I had to wait 24-48 hrs. The following day I called Budget and asked for receipt. I was again told the vehicle was not checked in and the receipt is unavailable. I was told to call the return location to speak with the counter. I tried calling the return location numerous times with the calls being either forwarded to a non-working number or customer service where I was told nothing could be done until the return location checked in the vehicle. The branch and Budget should be ashamed to rent a vehicle in this condition. It shouldn't take 4 days to provide a receipt for a rental. Once I finally received my receipt, the total charges stated $351.41. My pre-paid amount is $353.38, I should get a credit and that was not displayed on the receipt so now I have to contact customer service AGAIN. The receipt also states that my vehicle being a Volvo with a non-matching license plate number from the Hyundai I was given. 3/9/26 @11:11am called customer service 1-800-527-0700, review the sent receipt which has the wrong rental vehicle information, i.e. Volvo vs Hyundai and license plate number. Customer rep. said they put in a ticket to correct the vehicles, and I should hear back from someone within 24 hours. This was my first time using Budget and will be the last.

When I called, I was told to go online and modify my reservation. I did that. What I was not told- it cancelled out the good rate I had and gave me a really expensive rate. When I noticed and called, I was told to call back once I had returned the car. I did. I noticed then that not only had I paid over $100 MORE for less days, they had charged me for gas- over $11!!! I had filled up at a gas station near the hotel and it turned out the return spot was wayyyyy in the middle of nothing! Not even the airport! (You have to take a shuttle back and forth). Just beware! They don't tell you all the information. You are expected to read all the fine print.

I strongly encourage others to be cautious when renting from this location or better yet, not to rent from this location. If I could, I'd give them 0 stars. My rental was originally prepaid through Priceline. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I was informed that the car class I reserved was not available. I paid for a midsize SUV but was instead given a compact Jeep. Also, I was told that I could pay an upgrade of $25 per day to get another vehicle, I said that most locations will give you a free upgrade if they don't have the vehicle you reserved ready. He was very rude and said absolutely not. All of a sudden, they came out with this compact jeep, being that I was in a rush and had to get back to work, I had to take what they gave me at the time, I thought it's just a rental. I knew by this interaction that this was a ghetto spot and he certainly was a scam artist. By the way, they have a lot of vehicles in that garage connected to the back of the building, I saw all of the vehicles in the garage when I went to drop their key off this morning at 8 am, Later, after my Lexus was damaged during the January 2026 winter storm, I had to extend my rental several times while waiting for my vehicle to be repaired. I renewed the vehicle online three separate times at a rate of $215 per week. Based on those renewals, my total expected balance was $829, and I have a copy of the receipt reflecting that amount. I returned the vehicle on March 2, 2026 at approximately 7:00 PM. The location was already closed, and there was no key drop available. Because I was concerned about potential issues, I documented the return by taking photos and a video showing the vehicle on their premises and in good condition. Since there was no way to leave the key, I returned the following morning to hand it directly to the staff. When I arrived the next morning, I was presented with a receipt totaling $1,727. I immediately questioned the charge because my total should have been $829 based on the weekly renewals. I was told that the computer system changed the rental to a monthly rate because the vehicle was returned late. However, the vehicle was due at 1:00 PM and was returned at approximately 7:00 PM the same day. Even if a late fee applied, it should not have resulted in a charge that nearly doubled the total cost. What concerns me even more is that I already have documentation showing the correct total of $829. My credit card company was also able to see the original charges and confirmed the expected total that matched my receipt. I have filed a complaint with Hertz corporate, and they informed me that someone would contact me within 3 to 5 days. I have also spoken with my credit card company, and if the incorrect charges go through, I will be formally disputing them. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Customers deserve transparency, fair billing, and honest service. I hope Hertz corporate reviews what occurred at this location and addresses the situation appropriately. Until this matter is resolved, I strongly encourage customers to carefully review their receipts and document everything when renting from this location. I wish I had read the reviews, the black guy is rude, the black lady is rude also. This place needs to be shut down.

So now they have my $433.75 and I don't even have a car. Here it is, a week later and they don't want to approve my refund. For days I've been going through time consuming emails and chats with no success. I believe they think they can wear a person down until they just give up. Has anyone else had this problem with either Dollar Car Rental or Hertz?

I showed up to pick up the truck. Everything seemed to be going fine and then they asked for a third phone number. I didn't have a third phone number to give them. They argued, and I explained to them that I had nobody that wasn't at work that I could give them a phone number to. The manager decided to cancel my reservation and send it to a place that 2 single white women should not enter down in Cleveland someplace. There are other rentals closer that he could have chosen. When I called customer service (while I stood there in line) they told me that there were other forms of ID he could have asked for. All she asked for was a phone number. He did not give us any other options. The woman at customer service said there was a list of things that pops up. When that phone number request pops up. He could have asked for any of those things. And we actually had a couple of them. The way he spoke to us was condescending and rude. I was at that location 2 weeks ago, rented a truck and a storage space, had absolutely no problems. The people were so friendly and went out of their way to help and get me what I needed. I will never go back to U-Haul again.

I will call and they will act as though it was unintentional and make some effort to make it right. Its bad business. High staff turnover. It is clean, neat, climate controlled, good hours for access, and a one stop shop. I doubt I will be back here for a unit.
