Rack of Lamb
Tara H.

I've heard so many people rave about Como Steakhouse and how they have the best steaks around. It's taken years for us to finally stop by for my husband's birthday this past weekend. I'll say... it's worth the hype!! We didn't have a reservation, they said about 45 minute wait. Which ended up only being 30 minutes. We sat upstairs and had a drink and appetizer while we waited for our table though. It was nice up there. I'm not a fan of the mozzarella sticks. Could have had more flavor. Once we got to our dining table, the place was jammed packed. Later I noticed there were 2 other dining areas. I love that the grill is right there in the room with you. It was somewhat Smokey though, but a cool experience. Our food... fantastic!!! The salad was pretty good. The ranch and blue cheese dressing were tasty. It was a good light start because the steaks are hearty and potatoes are HUGE. I got an 8 oz. Filet which had a lot of flavor and cooked perfectly. My husband got the rack of lambs and I'm not a fan of just regular lamb, I love when it's cooked with a lot of flavor and not that gamey taste. This lamb was delicious! Also, I don't know what they did to the potato, but it was great! It wasn't dry and had enough toppings to have throughout the whole potato. Is it my favorite steak place? No. Would I go again? Definitely yes!

AWFUL. Can't cook a steak to save their life. Medium filet came out BLEEDING. Sent back twice and we were blamed. When providing feedback to the "manager", a 40 year old blonde lady claiming to have "35 years of restaurant experience," the entire staff gathers to argue. The ladies even provoked a table of males to "intimidate" our party which escalated to the parking lot, making us feeling threatened. Never again will we visit this place. Menu prices are changed without notice. Menu stated that steak come with "loaded baked potato" as an option. They charge $4 extra for the "loaded" option. Service is terrible yet. They still charge 18% gratuity for a party of four.

Undercooked and overcooked steaks

I have dined at your restaurant twice -- once for my anniversary, which was an amazing experience, and most recently for my birthday, which unfortunately left me quite disappointed. During my most recent visit, my party and I arrived a little after 6:00 PM and were given a buzzer while waiting to be seated. We were informed of the approximate 35-minute wait time. We waited at the Oyster Bar and were not seated for dinner until approximately 8:00 PM. After being seated, our experience became increasingly concerning. Initially, one server brought our drinks about 20 minutes after we sat down, and another server, Lele, later took our order. At that time, the only other occupied table nearby was a couple we had spoken with earlier who was beginning to leave. Roughly 30 minutes later, three additional tables were filled by other guests. Despite placing our order well before those tables arrived, all three of those parties received their meals by around 9:15 PM. In contrast, our party did not receive our food until approximately 9:45 PM -- nearly an hour and 45 minutes after being seated. Unfortunately, all five of our steaks were prepared incorrectly, being either undercooked, overcooked, or lacking seasoning entirely. When we asked to speak with the owner, the restaurant manager came to our table instead (she did not provide her name, but I can identify her if needed). While we attempted to calmly explain the situation, the manager became defensive and raised her voice, which escalated the situation unnecessarily. She also handed us to-go containers and got uncomfortably close to one of our guests, who ultimately moved her to a further position and left the restaurant as she followed behind him antagonizing the situation. Afterward, we observed the manager apologizing to the nearby tables -- which only added to our frustration given the poor service and treatment we had received. Our total bill was over $350, and we left feeling disrespected and disappointed by both the service and management response. I want to be clear that this is not a racial complaint; however, the way the situation was handled left us feeling unfairly treated and uncomfortable. If there is anyway the restaurant OWNER can email me my email is myacampbell90@gmail.com. I would greatly appreciate a response

ROSA A. The Manager

WORST STEAKHOUSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Steak was over cook and when I informed the bartender/manager name ROSA A. she quickly got an attitude and stated " that's the reason we don't like serving ppl like yall!! Her exact words. She was so disrespectful. She was loud, rude and very shameful . Starting to call me names and called the police because I refused to tip her 18% for the BAD SERVICE. I have already contacted my lawyer. This place gives horrible service. And the Blatant disrespect for black ppl .This the service is atrocious. I will never return and I advise anyone that has any moral not to patronize this business. I WAS A REALLY SAD WHAT THIS WORLD HAS BECOME.

Friday night at a popular steakhouse so of course it was crowded and wait time but we had reservations and were seated. Our waitress Amy was wonderful, personable and attentive. The wait for food was a bit long but worth it. The steak was more well than I prefer but the sear and char was perfection. Only the very center was medium but not enough but overall it was good. The potato was not hot but it looked good so I ate some. The sweet tea was too sweet and not for me but I came for the steak and it was really good. My mom had the lamb and it was wonderful, tender and seasoned very well. I would absolutely go back for the lamb!

I went with the New York strip and it was cooked to a perfect medium. It had a bold flavor and a good amount of marbling. The fries were crispy and salted just right. The service was fast and the staff was welcoming. I also liked how clean and well kept the dining area was. My only small complaint is that I wish the steak had a little more char. Still really enjoyable though.

My husband and I visited Como Steakhouse and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our service was sketchy because I noticed things were offered to patrons and not us. Again this was our experience. I thought it was only us experiencing or noticing the different service being provided until another group of ladies sat down beside us and began to receive the same services we were, which was the bare minimum. We continuously had to ask for refills, sauces cheese etc., but other customers were willingly offered these things. We ordered the pecan pie dessert only for it to be presented VERY sloppy and warmed in the microwave. I asked if it came with ice cream the server stated we don't sell ice cream with our pecan pie. Other than service, Our steaks were cooked wonderfully and I must admit I see why the mushrooms are famous, they were so delicious.

To go....

We are locals to the area, & tonite was a STELLAR EXPERIENCE! Brayden was our server & was absolutely spot on in service! The steaks are cooked to perfection--no sauce needed. The 'shrooms were delectable, as always. Salads & potatoes were completely fabulous, but the service!!! Did I mention our server, Brayden?? Seriously, best dinner EVER from a small hole in the wall in MS & as locals, I will definitely return and ask for Brayden to serve us!!

I love this place but unfortunately this visit was not great. We had reservations to celebrate my graduation l. My party arrived and was seated. Obviously because of COVID the prices had gone up. It took over an hour and fifteen minutes to receive our food, and two of the orders were incorrect, and it was a hassle trying to get them fixed. The waitress looked like she didn't want to be there. What sucked is this was a celebration and 4 people in my group had never attended this restaurant. Now my order was fine and delicious however this was the worst experience I've ever had a restaurant that I truly have enjoyed over the years. I was late for my event afterwards because of all of the mishaps. This isn't the Como I'm used to attending, not sure if I'll be back.

T-bone with loaded baked potato is my favorite.

My husband and I both had steaks. They were good and so were the baked potatoes. The service was good. The atmosphere was not very clean.

I don't know why, I'm just cool and mysterious like that. They didn't have the full lunch menu available today, they only had a lunch plate special. And damn what a plate it was. 2 pieces fried chicken, mashed potatoes, greens, and a biscuit. The fried chicken had a sauce over it that was very reminiscent of Uncle Lou's sweet spicy love sauce but with less of the heat. That's a good thing for our table because one of the kids is not a spicy fan. Think I'm gonna need a DNA test on that one because I don't know what's up with that. In addition to the lunch counter there is also a full butcher shop with many different cuts of pork and beef. Prices seemed pretty reasonable as well and although I didn't get anything from the butcher I'll bet it's a damn sight better than what you'll get at Kroger. Everyone we dealt with (okay there were only 2 people, the lady at the register and the guy cooking) was very friendly, checking in without a few times throughout the meal, asking if it's our first time (it was) and welcoming us. Insider it's a cute country store vibe with some various sun dried in addition to the meats and lunch counter like soap, honey, I think I saw bags of grits.....

Since I grew up a hop, skip, and jump away from Como, off of Highway 310 in Marshall County, I was eager to check out the farm store on one of my upcoming visits back home. I finally got to stop by this past weekend, and I ordered takeout for lunch on Sunday, which consisted of 4 smoked brisket sandwiches, 2 wedge salads, 2 orders of egg rolls, a basket of French fries, and 3 slices of chocolate pie. The customer service I received during my visit was superb, and I throughly enjoyed the butcher shop meets Hill Country cafe vibes in the dining area while I waited for my food to be prepared. Once I got back to my mom's house, I realized both salads came with bacon, which meant the pescatarian in our family couldn't eat her meal. Other than that small hiccup, everything else was phenomenal! My family raved about the smoke brisket sandwiches, and I really enjoyed the egg rolls, wedge salad, French fries, and slice of chocolate pie that I ate. Overall, a great experience, and I look forward to stopping by again in the future when I'm back home in North Mississippi.

The salad felt more like an afterthought: mostly lettuce with one cherry tomato, a single onion ring, and a mound of shredded cheese. I've tried several entrées over time--the blackened catfish (which came out undercooked), the steak (beautiful presentation but lacking flavor), and the redfish (overcooked). My son ordered the pork chop, which was very dry, and the "fried apples" tasted more like syrup than fruit. Our server was kind but not very attentive; we had to ask for drink refills and our check. We have eaten at just about all the steakhouses in the Mississippi/Tennessee area, from the small ones to the high-end ones. One of my favorite steaks is the porterhouse. It's usually around $60 and up at most steakhouses these days. Delta's porterhouse was $49 and it came with a salad plus one side. The salad was nothing to write home about. But who goes to a steakhouse for a salad? I chose the baked potato is my side. I upgraded it for $2 to what they call the colossal loaded baked potato. It was very good! If I had one critique, it would be that there was no before meal bread offered. It wasn't a big deal. I didn't need it anyway. I usually get my steak medium-rare. In most places, they always overcook it. When the stakes arrived, I was very excited to see they looked great. I cut into my steak and it was cooked perfectly. My wife's steak was also cooked perfectly. She got the filet. She ordered some sauteed mushrooms on the side. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms, but these mushrooms. Had a very distinct taste. My wife said they were some of the best Mushroom. She's ever had. Our waitress was very pleasant and on the ball constantly. We didn't have to ask for anything. I looked at some of the other reviews here and I was a little confused. When you put this place up against some of the higher end steakhouses, I would still come back to this one. The atmosphere is very casual and the place is clean. The steakhouse is nestled right in the middle of downtown Senatobia. We just happened to be in the area and I'm glad we were. I will definitely come here in the future over some of the other choices in our area.

Ordered the Butchers Bacon Rack (similar to Porch &Parlor but NOT), when asked, he could not tell us the difference in flavors, not a good experience to even know which we liked or did not. Perhaps this is a learning opportunity/retraining for the restaurant. He was not knowledgeable of the many things. It offers 1st job or owner's son type of job. The entree's were basic at best, the 20% gratuity for the service received did not align and restaurants do that on purpose. There isn't an incentive for waitstaff to offer above and beyond experiences. I had the Crab Stuffed Shrimp, I cannot recall anything memorable (see photo).
