Being from Senatobia, I really wanted to love this place and support a local spot. I've given it a fair shot--three separate visits--but each time has unfortunately fallen short. The salad felt more like an afterthought: mostly lettuce with one cherry tomato, a single onion ring, and a mound of shredded cheese. I've tried several entrées over time--the blackened catfish (which came out undercooked), the steak (beautiful presentation but lacking flavor), and the redfish (overcooked). My son ordered the pork chop, which was very dry, and the "fried apples" tasted more like syrup than fruit. Our server was kind but not very attentive; we had to ask for drink refills and our check. We were very impressed with this rustic steakhouse. The interior was old school and there was a hint of smoke in the air. When we sat down, I had a feeling we were in for a treat. We have eaten at just about all the steakhouses in the Mississippi/Tennessee area, from the small ones to the high-end ones. One of my favorite steaks is the porterhouse. It's usually around $60 and up at most steakhouses these days. Delta's porterhouse was $49 and it came with a salad plus one side. The salad was nothing to write home about. But who goes to a steakhouse for a salad? I chose the baked potato is my side. I upgraded it for $2 to what they call the colossal loaded baked potato. It was very good! If I had one critique, it would be that there was no before meal bread offered. It wasn't a big deal. I didn't need it anyway. I usually get my steak medium-rare. In most places, they always overcook it. When the stakes arrived, I was very excited to see they looked great. I cut into my steak and it was cooked perfectly. My wife's steak was also cooked perfectly. She got the filet. She ordered some sauteed mushrooms on the side. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms, but these mushrooms. Had a very distinct taste. My wife said they were some of the best Mushroom. She's ever had. Our waitress was very pleasant and on the ball constantly. We didn't have to ask for anything. I looked at some of the other reviews here and I was a little confused. When you put this place up against some of the higher end steakhouses, I would still come back to this one. The atmosphere is very casual and the place is clean. The steakhouse is nestled right in the middle of downtown Senatobia. We just happened to be in the area and I'm glad we were. The restaurant is nice. I almost didn't make it bc of the less than complimentary reviews. The booths are amazing. Salad was on iceberg lettuce so not impressed. They don't serve alcohol, so that was also disappointing. I ordered a mimosa and water, but wish I could have had something else. Mimosa was good and water was nasty. Nasty water and they serve Pepsi products (which are also nasty, in my opinion) But my (med) aged filet and crab legs were both tender and well seasoned. The lil blunt knife cut thru the steak with ease. Next time I will bring my own red wine (Stella Rosa is what they serve. That's also nasty to me) and enjoy the best steak ever! Their steak was the best first time we came, but this time we wanted something different, but the lunch menu is so extremely limited, never any baked potatoes available, until evening. I asked for their salmon I saw on their online menu and it wasn't available, so the waitress offered me A salad, then grits......what!!!? Still quite peaceful. I don't recommend lunch there unless you only want A delicious steak. But I need to come for supper in the evening, when they actually serve A variety of food. I can't believe they call it a steakhouse. The lighting is so bright that I felt like I was on stage. The steak was overcooked, dry and flavorless. The potatoes are better at Wendy's. We went for Mother's Day. The lunch menu is very limited. We waited an hour on our food to tell us the we're not serving something we ordered. When the food arrived the steaks were soaked in what tasted like Dales marinade. No one at our table was thrilled with their meal. I wanted a filet but they did not have them on the menu. I wanted a salad but they were $20 or more dollars! It was just not a good experience. We've been once before when the first opened and we weren't impressed then either. Then about 5 minutes later she starts asking for people's names and putting them on the list. Then asks the people that have been waiting for their names- and oh the wait time changed from 20-30 minutes. We finally get seated 40 minutes later & wait on our waitress a few minutes. She gets our drink order and then comes back with the drinks. We order- my table had the filet medallions and a t-bone. Both were ordered medium rare. Waitress drops the salads off, comes back to bring our food, while bringing our food she refills my husband's tea and that's it until it is time for the check. She then stands at the table waiting for my husband to give her his credit card. She said sorry not trying to rush you but I'm ready to close up and go home.... It was only 715. Unprofessional in my opinion. Now onto the food. As I said we ordered our steaks medium rare. My husband's was more medium well and mine medium. Was not a fan of the marinade for the steak. I tried to make a reservation for 15 people for Saturday night and they said it is a $250 non refundable deposit!!!!! Absolutely not! We aren't paying 250 just to get in the door and sit down. First time there and the food was great. We had a tomahawk ribeye and a porterhouse. The salads were fresh and nice. Our waiter was excellent, as well as the other waitstaff. Only negatives - 1) the steaks were a little salty (more so the porterhouse) but still overall great. We used to go to Como for steak because it was the only place around to get a decent one. Now Delta has given them a run for their money. Their steaks are just as delicious, price is about the same, the atmosphere is wonderful, and we've never been made to wait very long because they have the room to accommodate the crowds. This was our first date night at delta steak house. The steak and fish were VERY well cooked and the service was good, however they were both EXTREMELY over seasoned. We visited on a Friday evening at 7 pm. Usually travel from Hernando to Como Steak House, but decided to give Delta try because it is closeer and our children had just moved into the dorms. It was not very busy so we were seated right away. Our waitress, Allison was great, knew the menu, was attentive and had a great personality. Prices were very comparable to Como, maybe a bit higher. I got the grilled catfish, which was good. Our others got the crab legs-nice, sausage and cheese plate-okayish, and a salad-not that great. Was really surprised when we got our check and they had charged $1.00 for exchanging my Texas Toast from a seasoned one to a plain buttered. Had not touched the seasoned toast, remembered not liking it the last time. Also, can not understand why a so called 'upscale' restaurant charges $2.00 for loaded baked potato with a sprinkle of cheese and ???. Especially when paying $29.00 to $38.00 for a steak. And what's with the uncharge on using credit cards ???????? Second time for dinner, was glad to see the plating had improved. Our food was good, my grilled shrimp were over seasoned and grainy, like the seasoning had been sprinkled on after cooking. No shrimp taste at all, just spicy seasoning. Steak medallions were good, Grandson said his large ribeye was good, but he only ate a few bites. (He's a college football player.)
