I would most definitely not recommend CTS. A couple years ago we had them trim some trees and they did a good job at a good price, which is why we called them again this time. The gentleman who came out and gave the estimate seemed to have a really good sense of what needed to be trimmed and how to do it while preserving the beauty of the trees. The workers who came out, however, did a terrible job. You know those fancy poodles with the bald tails and the poof ball at the end? That's what our trees look like, the trunk entirely stripped most all the way up with some remaining clumps of leaves at the very top. Considering the size of the branches they removed from the trunk, these trees will not look pretty again in my lifetime (I'm 44), if ever. Neighbor thinks it looks good, but that's because he won't have hardly any leaves to rake. At least someone is happy. read more

SO HAPPY WITH THE JOB THEY DID. I will sleep better at night.. And i had this one little plum bush/tree in the middle, and they saved it--ran all that huge equipment around it. The employees were very competent, fast and, well, kinda fun to watch. Our mobile home park hired CTS to do MASSIVE trimming on the eucalyptus behind our coaches... and I was apprehensive about how could they do any good on such a huge tract of hundreds of trees. Well, there aren't hundreds anymore, maybe just a hundred and they are skinned up pretty high. The prevailing thought is that if the wind can get thru, it will not take down so many trees (several have fallen in the last couple years, thankfully missing our coaches.) SO, good job, thanks for the extra care around my garden, and for the funny little present you left of the slice of tree with a face. read more

I called Community Tree Service to get an estimate for some work in Hollister. They rescheduled twice, and then we switched the estimate to a drive-by instead of a face-to-face. Nobody has made it out yet, three weeks since my original call. I've called a few times, and they are very apologetic, but nothing changes. I'm disappointed. They were the closest tree service with great reviews. I'm hesitant to go with someone with mediocre reviews because this is a tree-climbing tree. My crew might mutiny if anything happens to their lookout post. Bummer! read more

These guys removed a tall (60 ft) oak from our property. Adolpho was right on time for the estimate and honest in his appraisal. The price was good. The 2 man crew showed up at 8 a.m.and had the tree down by lunch (these guys were some HARD workers!). The brush was removed, big wood was split, moved and left on site for future firewood. Nothing was damaged on either our property or the neighbors. The job was completed the same day The office staff I spoke with were friendly and helpful. These guys are great. Matt came out several times to meet with us as we discussed (and changed) the scope of the project. He was prompt, responsive, and he worked patiently to revise his bids until we settled on the final work to be done. The work itself was excellent; the team was careful to move things that were in the way, they worked around our schedule (we had to get by their trucks to leave the house and they were great at moving things around to allow us out), and they were careful to avoid damaging things with branches and tree limbs. They were incredibly fast and efficient, and the team was friendly as easy to work with. There were one or two small parts of the project that weren't completed (a couple of smaller trees I asked them to take down the day of the project - so they weren't technically part of the original contract, and a little stump grinding that was in the original contract). But the work was done quickly, efficiently and with very little mess left over. I would definitely use these guys again. read more

Our apt had 2 very large trees and 2 smaler ones removed. Very tricky job, requiring cranes to pull out right next to the building. Must say their customer service was absolutely superb. Came in the am, worked very hard til lunch and done by 4:30. All the workers were very polite. They also swept and blowed area and left it clean when they were done. Fast, efficient, and courteous. Dont see customer service like th is very often these days. Would recommend this company to anyone who needs this sort of job done. read more

We had Community Tree prune our diseased pear trees. They did a great job (we couldn't see a single diseased leaf afterwards), cleaned up completely, and were professional throughout. We used CTS for a day of trimming trees at our Scotts Valley home and were very satisfied with their quality and professionalism. Some of the trees were difficult to get too as the bucket truck could not reach them, but they bravely tackled the job and all in one day and at the agreed upon price. John and his team were friendly, energetic, on time and stayed focused on the job till the end. We will definitely use them again. The only complaint we have is that one of our neighbors got upset when chipper dust got on their car and their workers could have been a bit more diplomatic in their handling of the situation. read more

Adolfo and the crew were exactly what we needed from first meeting to clean up. The bid to remove a tree (that was putting neighbors in peril) was fair. Alternatives were explained. The office manager took several calls from me to adjust and explain my concerns before the job. They took care of notifications and signage. They directed and accommodated a lot of traffic on a narrow street diligently and with smiles. They took the huge tree down safely and quickly. Then they cleaned it all up. I came to watch, and ended up video taping the tricky parts because I was so impressed. We will miss the tree though. read more

I had them do a couple jobs for me: grinding old stumps on one occasion, then tree & brush removal (including a lot of poison oak) on another. Adolfo gave me a far better bid than I expected for the tree & brush clearing. And thank God, because I didn't want to do it myself. They came out with a crew of 4 and heavy machinery. Cleared out 5,000 sq feet and trimmed up the remaining trees in about 5-hours. Not quite the "park-like" appearance that Adolfo suggested it would be but, the result was well worth it for the money. read more
