I requested the removal of four large cypress trees on the border of mine and my neighbor's houses. I got four quotes from different companies. Jesus's quote was not the very lowest, but it was highly competitive and he seemed the most professional with the best reviews and ratings on Yelp and otherwise. Best tree service ever! Jesus and his crew were courteous, professional, prompt and extremely efficient. After getting tree cutting permits from the city, I called Mountain Valley out for a bid. Biggest problem was a 75' pine, along with a smaller 35' pine. Their bid was more than half from other bidders. Crew arrived on time, cut trees carefully and efficiently. Chipped brush, and cut logs to fit my wood stove. Even delivered chipped wood to my residence for the garden. Cleaned up the roof, grounds and walkways, leaving the area better than when they arrived. A week later, I had them return to trim oaks and clear brush behind the house. Stellar work once again. Everyone wore masks, worked together, answered questions and were respectful with regard to property and people. Glad to have found them and highly recommend their service. read more

I am very happy with this company. They have done multiple jobs for our family thus far. They are always on time, crystal clear to communicate with, give receipts which I appreciate, are trustworthy, and creatively Juan really goes above and beyond with we ask for. For this particular job, I envisioned a gate to match the existing custom wood gate, and he did a flawless job. The prices are good, and they are a licensed company in Carmel By The Sea which means they can be hired when you are granted permits here as well. Juan also fixed a situation with my new oven blocking 3 kitchen drawers in a clever way by removing an unnecessary small piece of granite behind the oven, thus minimizing the amount of drawer space I would have to lose. In addition, we were granted a permit by the city to remove a tree in the backyard, and they did a perfect job. They hauled the wood at no charge, but offered to cut it into firewood for me for no extra charge. At my request, they also cut a custom section of the fork for free, for a friend of mine to create a resin table and give the tree a second life. Carpentry wise and garden wise they seem to be able to do whatever you need. Super easy to work with, I would highly recommend them. read more

Mountain Valley Tree Service did an AMAZING job trimming trees and clearing brush for fire prevention on our 10+ acre condo property. I interviewed all of the top tree trimming services (over 5 companies) and Mountain Valley was the clear winner, not just because of their reasonable quote, but Jesus and his team really listened to my concerns and took the time to walk the entire property with me to discuss what trees would need removing, trimming etc. When it was time to complete the work, they were great at communicating with us on a daily basis to ensure we were satisfied. We had a huge job that needed to get done on our property that included trimming about 10 feet off of our 80 foot trees. Jesus and his family were able to get the job done in one week, at a very fair price. The other two companies we consulted were quoting at least 2 weeks and were charging three times as much as Jesus. Jesus and his family handled our intimidating request with honesty and professionalism and made us feel at ease that they could get the job done without breaking our bank or delaying our schedule. They didn't have a crane/lift and instead climbed up our trees (very cool to watch), so the final cut lines were not as clean, but it got the job done and we were happy with the final invoice and the quick turnaround.
