Unfortunately, our recent experience with Justin Family Pharmacy was among the most disappointing we've encountered. Following a visit to the emergency room, our son's prescription was sent to Justin Family Pharmacy. Before proceeding, he contacted the pharmacy to confirm they were in-network with TRICARE, and the staff confirmed they were. However, when asked to provide insurance information, the technician requested details such as the RxBIN number. As a military family, we only have a military ID, which typically suffices for prescriptions and does not include an RxBIN. Rather than assisting by looking up the necessary information using our sponsor's Social Security number--a standard procedure--or contacting TRICARE directly, the technician instead advised us to call CVS or Walgreens to have the prescription transferred. When I asked for clarification, he plainly stated that he did not want our business. I was shocked by the dismissive and unprofessional manner in which we were treated. In all our years of dealing with pharmacies both in the U.S. and abroad, we have never experienced such rudeness or unwillingness to assist. This was not only frustrating but disheartening, especially given the high level of respect and care military families are accustomed to receiving in healthcare settings. I hope this feedback encourages a review of service practices at this location. No patient--military or civilian--should be treated with such disregard.

Current situation is My practitioner recently changed over to Carie Boyd Pharmaceuticals. So, when I needed my BHRT replaced In December I authorized them a 1 x time charge, for 1 x times the BHRT Pellet fee, and that was it nothing else. Thinking that was the end of it until next time, boy was I wrong! (Keep in mind these only get implanted every 6 months or so.) However exactly 1 month later January 23 I get another charge for 3 x times the amount and this is supposed to be for an oral cheek dissolvable estrogen compound tablet that came out of nowhere, only arrives in the mail without warning of any kind with an invoice billing me again 3 times the amount of implantable that I received a month ago. My practitioner contacted this company, and then I also tried to contact this company and oddly the manager of the company would not even get on the phone with me. They sent a message to the accounting department back to her stating that "the accounts receivable lady can tell me they've already spoken to my provider and that was it nothing further they could do, and that my they couldn't accept the package back not because the content's had been opened or disturbed but because the PLASTIC FEDX package had been opened... I've had a few bizarre health issues the past few years keeping me from driving but they do free deliveries with absolutely no question no hassle and no third party delivery services. This is the worst, most incompetent, belabored and arcanely functioning pharmacy I have ever…read moreencountered. As one who works in drug research, has a B.S. in biochemistry, an MPH and knows full well FDA protocols and regulatory standards, I can tell you the head pharmacist, Dennis, operates his business like it's the 1950s. The only reason I came to this pharmacy in the first place was because the particular molecule I needed compounded was out of stock throughout the greater DFW metroplex - another very telling indication of just how inadequate their business model is. If you're the only pharmacy out of, say 25, that has a drug, I'd gather things aren't going so swimmingly. In addition to the aforementioned shortcomings, this pharmacy - unlike any other I've known - doesn't offer a courier nor a shipping service. So, if you live in Downtown Dallas, you'll need to drive 30mi to and from the pharmacy to fulfill your order each time. Equally as fun - because of the head pharmacist's rules and relevant paranoia - if you have a month's supply, you'll be expected to come in TWICE within that month to pick up your script. Super convenient, right?! Oh, and another one of my favorite aspects was the rigidity in which this pharmacist felt it necessary to adhere to arbitrary, make-believe chemical standards. I'm not going to bore you with the minutia but suffice to say, if you know anything about chemistry (acidulants, antimicrobial properties, stability, salts, etc) this guy is doing way too much for too simple a process. "You know you don't HAVE to use saline sol'n, right? You can just use water - the molecule has HCl already in it". He says "Well, per FDA regulations we have to comply to a set of stability standards". I followed with, "oh so then I guess every OTHER pharmacy in the metroplex is just doing it 'wrong'? Are they all going to get 'busted'?! Did you discover some novel chem properties that the rest of the world doesn't know about?". Golly, maybe he'll avoid fines and criminal drug charges AND win the Nobel Prize too. The final kicker though is when Dennis tells me further, they can no longer fill my script because it's in a particular drug class as another medicine I take. Which again is false and an entirely ridiculous statement. Drug classes: opioids, benzodiazepines, dissociatives, amphetamines, anticonvulsants, PPIs, SSRIs, etc. They are all different and - unless you got your PharmD degree in 1985 - not equal and very often non-competitive. Especially when considering dosage and frequency at which these particular meds are filled. But I don't take Dennis for a big picture kind of guy anyhow. The moral of the story, unless it's the last pharmacy on earth, please PLEASE do yourself a favor by avoiding this dinosaur and support one of the many other great, reasonably priced, convenient, practical, and current pharmacies being operated in TX. And even if they're in Tyler and you're in Ft. Worth, they can probably ship your meds right to your front door.

They would not call our doctor for refills but would "without our request" fill prescriptions that had refills and include them in our bag although we specifically stated over the phone 3x I could not take a particular script because it was contraindicated with what I must take. The pharmacist promised to refund $110 rectifying what they did THEN he failed to do so. Additionally their creams clicked out over a month never have the same amount in them or the same consistency. This is the most expensive compounding pharmacy in northwest DFW with the lowest ratings from individual consumers. Go where you are treated honorably and the products are consistent.
