Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. If there is anywhere else you can get your medications sent, please do it! 1. Lack of transpar: they told me that my medications would be ready in 45 minutes. I waited in the car and returned and I was told it wasn't ready. I was asked if I had better go home and she said "yes". It wasn't ready until the next day, so I'm not so sure why they were telling me 45 minutes! Another guy came to the counter and said: "they told me on the phone it would be ready in an hour three hours ago! I'm here and it's not ready!" So...apparently they have a pretty chaotic system and should altogether stop telling people when they THINK it will be ready. 2. Rudest staff I've encountered at a pharmacy. When I showed them I have workers comp, the first time I was supported (generous choice of words there), the employee told me coldly that my primary care would have to tell the pharmacy. I asked if there was anyway that they could help me, and she kicked me out of the line. Called my insurance and they asked I come back. I asked their manager to help and after 20 minutes they finally gave me their medicine. I couldn't believe how rude the first employee especially was. A very good entry into the Denton business community that has stood the test of time and even managed to weather the COVID pandemic; it basically has everything that a drug store should. #92-2021 Well contrary to the reviews in the past things must have changed over here. I got laid over in Denton Texas for the weekend running out of pills so I wanted to get some refills. Looked up see if there any Walgreens nearby where I get my truck into where I dropped my trailer back to truck stop and bring the tractor Down there was just one right across from Texas women's University looked like plenty of parking easy access just four Mile jaunt up us 77. to town another surprise I'm like the ones around me that's 24/7 pharmacy included. So I called the phone number and said I want to order some refills what surprised me unlike my home Walgreens in the Chicago area where the actual store answers they have call centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area I didn't actually speak to the pharmacist or the pharm tech at the store that was the call center that was taking calls for them. Did I care hell no didn't matter to me who the heck takes to call Bozo the clown could take the call as long as it all came fine. So I ordered up my prescription med said I'll be there in the next day they said they should be there probably around noonish I said cool. I dropped my trailer at the truck stop and bobtailed on up found it it was very easy. I walked in the store was very clean and went back to the pharmacy and was greeted immediately said I'll be with you in a minute I said fine gave her my name and my put my phone number in for my Walgreens rewards and there were my prescriptions as I wanted. They were very cordial I bought some vitamins and some potato chips I didn't know Pringles had lightly salted but they did. And I went up to the other register where I was greeted and everything was fine I didn't see any one star or two star warranting of reviews on my visit. I did have to take a whiz so I hit the can and I was really surprised how clean it was it really surprised me and yeah it's the bathroom but they had Old Time wallpaper Walgreens and it had pictures of all the old Walgreens history I thought it was really cool. A lot of Chicago stuff because thier home base is the north suburb of Chicago, Deerfield Illinois to be exact. but I thought it was really neat to see on the wall the old time Walgreens stores and everything else little things like that catch my eye cuz I like nostalgia. All in all I could definitely say I'll use this Walgreens again if I'm down here in the north Texas area because it was easy to drop my trailer at the truck stop and cruise right on up about 7 minutes up the road I was there and keep up the good work the staff was fine from the pharmacy to the regular cashiers and everything else read more

While my rating is the same (an average of all visits), I've used a lot more of their services, including the pharmacy in the last 2 years. I would give the store employees 5 stars as I've had plenty of great experiences that demonstrate how friendly and helpful they are. I did have trouble with the pharmacy at the beginning, but in the last year they are a solid 4 stars and sometimes go above and beyond as well. While Walgreens tends to be more expensive, they are extremely convenient, well stocked and you can't beat 24 hours when you have a demanding schedule. If you get their card, you don't have to keep track of it, you can just enter your phone number and you will get some decent coupons or several dollars off a purchase sometimes. They also accept Care Credit at the pharmacy and on certain wellness products- good to know if money is tight or if you just keep medical purchases separate. While I look for good deals always, I'm the type that will give my business to a place that has good service. One example that comes to mind is from nearly 2 years ago when we had picked up a blood pressure machine because we couldn't get a good selection at CVS. After having it for several months to show my husband's doctor his readings, we found out the readings were inaccurate. It hadn't been very expensive and it had been used for several months, so asking for an exchange or refund never entered my mind. I was simply back there looking through their other options when an employee approached me and asked if I needed any help. I told him I was trying to figure out which of 2 brands might be the most accurate and mentioned we had already purchased one that wasn't, so I was being overly cautious to not waste the money. Not only did he go confirm the answer to my question, he also informed me about their very convenient return policy and I was able to get a refund on the first device because it was within 90 days, even though it wasn't in sellable condition! That particular experience, as well as the fact that all the staff has been nice to me, especially the guy who works weekday overnights, makes me very comfortable shopping here for forgotten items or new supplements I want to check out. When my insurance switched to Walgreens in 2019, I found myself here a lot and often annoyed. While there were multiple reasons I found it inconvenient in the first 6 to 8 months, the majority of my issues honestly were the result of my disorganized doctor's office. My life became so much easier once one of the employees suggested I get the app. Wow! I literally get notifications the second our prescriptions are ready by both email and the app, so I save so much time stopping by hoping my provider has sent things over in a timely fashion. However, it's not just the app, I could really tell the pharmacy staff stepped up their game this past year and waiting in line, even on the weekends, is less likely to happen. While I typically have various providers send in the prescriptions and pick up on my way to work the following day, I've had several emergency situations in the last few months and they haven't disappointed me. I can honestly say that this Walgreens operates so much faster than the CVS across the street ever did. This location typically under promises and over delivers, but again the app allows me to know the second things are ready for pick up. The current pharmacy staff has been great to me. I'm a big fan of the two women who typically work overnight during the week, but I've had a lot more interactions with them in the past few months and the staff in the afternoons and weekends have been just as competent. Their drive thru, which I never used until 2020, has been very convenient and easy. I've only had one visit in this entire year where a prescription was not run through insurance correctly. Considering typical pickups between my husband and I and the additional visits this year, this is once out of roughly 28 trips. It was a regular prescription so I knew it was significantly higher and politely mentioned this was very different from what I normally pay. I didn't have to go into much detail as she checked the computer, saw the mistake and then worked quickly to fill then and there. Again, I tend to go by my average visit, not only the mistakes, so I don't see that as a reason to complain. If anything, I am going to remember my visit the other day when I was in extreme pain on a holiday weekend and they got me my necessary medicine in 15 minutes so I could get home and take it. They were more sympathetic than the providers office had been! Also, even though I knew the medicine prescribed was a cousin to a medicine I am allergic to and you need to watch for signs of an (unlikely) reaction, they immediately made me aware of that fact, which just makes me feel more secure with this staff handling our medical prescriptions. Staff here is usually nice and relatively clean environment however where I have a problem is that every time I come in there is a low inventory of products leaving a lot of holes between products. The pharmacy can get very busy after normal work hours and I occasionally struggle to get my medication either due to out of stock or issues with insurance that they don't communicate with you. read more

I was in dire need of a prescription and it couldn't be picked up until today. I have Parkinson's and I had to make a trip. Sam's Club which is such a good pharmacy said to just have them call and transfer the prescription so It could be picked up on Sunday. Went back today and ready to leave on the trip and they had not even called. Can't pick it up now till Monday and will go back to Sams. This pharmacy is terrible. If I could rate this location a zero I would. I went in to get a Covid booster shot. Per Walgreens website and also calling the pharmacy they state if you are under 50 years old it was a walk in appointment only as of this review. I went in and there was a girl with dark hair and a black hoodie working at the pharmacy. I explained I was there for my booster and she argued with me that I had to make an appointment online. I showed her the app where it says it's walk in. She was extremely rude and you could tell she absolutely hates her job. I even spoke to Terry the pharmacy manager and even this guy argued with me about and scheduling an appointment. He then completely gave false info saying they don't give boosters to anyone under 50 even if you are severely immunocompromised. What?! Your stupid website gives completely different information. They are morons. They have no idea what's going on. I don't get the lack of customer service. There are people just trying to do the right thing and get a booster and they act like you bother them. Walgreen's Pharmacy 101 W University Dr Denton, TX 76201 My rating is for service received today only at the right-hand lane drive through at 1:01 pm this afternoon. I drive my elderly neighbor there to get her prescription. After giving the Walgreens Associate her personal info, I was told an id was needed. So my neighbor, sitting next to me, gave me her license. I then put the in the box and pressed "send". After receiving her medication through the chute system, I handed the prescription bag to my neighbor, and she said "where's my license?" We looked around, it was nowhere between the receiving chute and my neighbor seated next to me. We looked again. Then again. I immediately pressed the button for "help" and said "we need her id please". She then said she "never had the id. " I said "you asked for it , we sent it." The license was nowhere to be found. The Walgreens Associate repeatedly told me to look in my purse (4 times?) and that she doesn't have it. She started mumbling stuff that couldn't be heard . After insisting basically it wasn't her problem and that it is in my purse and that We never sent the id, I said "please stop talking to me like a child "it's in your purse! "Move along! Be gone mentality!), "it's not here, let me talk to your manager please." I said. *crickets* " What is your name, please?" "I mean, If her prescription required an id, that means you must have it, because you know it couldn't be filled (my neighbor agreed and had witnessed everything)" She responded "Leave the premises. Why do you want my name?" I hesitated, laughed nervously because she was having everyone witness her actions towards me that was in line in other vehicles--I was being glared at as well....I said "quality control issues."(obviously!) She again said she was going to have someone come out to remove me from the premises. She still wouldn't give her name. Be she did say something about the "reason she gave us our medicine without id (what?!?) is that she was busy talking with us, she didn't have the id. I said... "hmmm ok maybe your device (the transport chute thing) has it. She said she " never had it because when she does have it she puts it under the silver arm""....."soooo that means I never had it!(?)" still wouldn't give her name she said we "need to leave the premises" " and "Somebody is going to come outside to tell me to leave the premises just like she said" I opened up the door, felt all under the car, and lo and behold, the id was under drivers side fender (as if ejected or something from the device that we saw me put it in initially) so..... No "I'm sorry " but just "leave the premises now! (Immediately when asked her name and how she was supposedly able to give a prescription to us without the *required* id (which was dutifully provided). I said "it's all on video--go ahead, we will be withdrawing all our prescriptions from Walgreens's." In short, to summarize The Walgreens Associate refused to identify herself and threatened to remove me from premises because we asked for 1. The customer's license back, 2. her manager, then 3. her name, and lastly, 4. "how could she dispense a controlled substance without the id she just had required and requested which was received! Store is great; however, the pharmacy is a different story. It has started taking over a week to get prescriptions. When authorization is required, we end up having to call the insurance. We receive no notifications from Walgreens. We then call Walgreens and wait on hold for anywhere from 20-75 min, if they don't disconnect the call. In many instances, no one ever picks the phone back up after putting us on hold. When we ask why the prescriptions are delayed, the response is "I'm not really sure, we are waiting to hear back from _____________ (insurance or physician)." Though insurance and/or the physician has no record of communication from Walgreens. Avoid if possible! read more

This is a wonderful pharmacy with excellent staff. Sometimes the wait time is a bit long. When the lines are long, I understand because it's in a highly populated area of town, but I don't mind the wait because the staff are so accommodating! I have been coming here for two years now (moved to Denton for a new job) and the staff are always helpful. They don't mind working around my insurance and helping me bill coupons to get the best deal; the pharmacy manager is a knowledgeable, patient and kind man who reminds me of the Santas you see in Hallmark movies! 5 Days ago I had a total left knee replacement. On dismissal from the hospital I was prescribed an anticoagulant to prevent blood clots and that could cause an embolism and kill me. This prescription was sent to Walgreens in Denton on University Ave. 5 days later - this has been "under review" by the pharmacists. I have spent more than 2-1/2 hours "on hold" trying to talk to them. I never got past the electronic watchdog they they use for a phone system and was never able to talk to a live person. It's just not going to happen. My son went down there to try and get some kind of determination. The pharmacy had two drive up lanes and the inside walkup. The pharmacy only had ONE pharmacist on staff at that person was waiting on all three lines, He stood in line over 1-1/2 hours and made no progress getting to the counter. This business will literally cause you death if you decide to use them. We are now on day 5 and the "online" says the prescription is still "under review" by the pharmacist. read more

They said because it was "seasonal", they could not take it back. The young lady started waiting on us then switched over to the other vehicle although we had been waiting prior to the other car. She finished with the other vehicle before ever coming back to us. They tell you one hour for your prescriptions you can believe it will be 3 or4. I had to drive in and out of the drive through window because certain perscriprions weren't done but some were. Horrible experience for me. The cashier was rude and I think she is a racist. She never said ANYTHING when I came up, no greetings, but NOTHING. Then I asked about something and she didn't reply me back. All I heard from her were 'your phone number', and 'thanks'(barely).
