I am absolutely distraught by the treatment of the employees at this establishment. Thankfully, I was able to see the name tag of this individual . I was at the front of the store and noticed bickering going on from who seems to have some sort of managerial role, Cindy. The way Cindy talks and seeing her attitude towards her coworkers makes me not want to go or even recommend going to this location. Props to heather for directing me to the items I needed to go to. Heather helped me find the right products for my hair. And I can tell she was busy, but Cindy would as not even showing an ounce of respect to the customers. 1 star. I went to ulta earlier today, and i noticed many things but this one young lady really got my attention. She works for Clinique, and immediately i noticed how under dressed she was. Her skirt was way too short to be worn during her working hours, from the back it looked like she wasn't wearing anything other than the lab coat. The longer I was around her, i noticed she was smacking very loudly on her gum. As i was in the store, i noticed how she also grouped with other girls that work there and they would just talk instead of actually working. I've used Clinique for a very long time and never have i been assisted by someone like her. These workers really need to get better. read more

Really rude staff. First off, they ruined my pick up order and gave it to someone else. After calling they fixed it. I went to do a curbside pick up with my two kids and called and spoke to a very grumpy employee who stated "their policy says they don't do curbside orders after 5:00." It was 5:04. After asking her if she could make an exception she finally said she would ask her manager. She said she would bring it out. I said thank you and got no response. I asked a lady where I could find his products. She practically had her back to me while I was talking to her. She then rudely pointed to where I could find them. I used to work at retail stores and when someone approached me asking where they could find a particular product I would give them my full attention and WALK them to where the products were located. What an awful experience I just had in Denton. I generally go to Ulta by my house in Alliance Town Center and I will not stray again. The service here is a joke! There were no sales people or employees anywhere to assist in making my decision. What's even worse is an incredibly RUDE employee came over to me and scolded me telling me children cannot run around the store. Now while I 100% agree children should not be running through the store, my 3 year old was running away from me in act of defiance and I was attempting to catch her. This woman obviously has no children and zero empathy for a stressed mom with a nap deprived 3 year old. She was not running throughout the store- she was circling one aisle and I got on her immediately. It's the way the employee approached me, the way she looked at me and the way she stated her statement. It was completely rude, condescending and shaming. There are much better ways to handle situations like this. For example, " looks like you've got your hands full there. Is there anything I can do to help? We don't want your daughter to get hurt. " after scolding me, the employee half-heartedly asked if I needed any assistance and I stated there's been nobody here to assist me. She then said well I'm here and then she walked away. So I still received no assistance. Final summary- UNNECESSARY!!! The entire experience was uncalled for. I will not be back to the Denton store. The staff here is lacking and rude. I have a love/hate relationship with my hair because it is curly and curls are a whole other beast. Lisa M. in the salon is so knowledgeable overall on hair, but especially with curls. At first, I was embarrassed to even go in with the state of my thin curls. She made me feel beautiful from the moment I sat down in the chair. I've given this location three chances and they have all been less than stellar. Jacob over used bleach in my hair and really fried it. It's taken me months of deep conditioning and all kinds of product to repair his damage. But my worst experience was booking with Ashley. I booked an appointment for my five year old daughter the week before school started. She was so excited for a big girl hair cut to mark this exciting start of school. We walked in a few minutes before our appointment time and I even snapped a "before" pic while waiting for someone to check us in at the counter. Ashley started complaining she didn't have time for us once the clerk told her we were there. She finally walked over and told us she was going to have to cancel us as she was overbooked and couldn't take the appointment. I had booked the appointment days in advance. My daughter stood there bawling. She said she gets overbooked and has to cancel people all the time. I use multiple Ultas as we travel a lot and have never had this happen anywhere else. I got online and found another appointment a few days later at another store. We don't use the Denton location ever again. It takes a pretty heartless person to make a little girl cry and turn her away. read more

What is going ON in this store, attitude-wise? This place delivers some of the worst customer service, and it never seems to get any better despite how often I visit. I've been working in retail/customer service for over 10 years, so I can give people the benefit of the doubt, but dang guys...get it together. The energy is just awful from the moment you walk in. No one says a word when you walk through the door. Everyone seems too busy talking, stocking, or doing their own makeup to assist anyone. I was there for an hour yesterday before anyone even asked how I was doing, and he was hurriedly going to the back to do work. He was nice enough to say something despite being on a mission, though, so that was appreciated. I was interested in the new IT Cosmetics product, but no one would even look at me. I was browsing salon products in the back to rescue my over-processed hair, and not a person was in sight for the 30 minutes I was weaving through isles. I asked the only hair stylist (who admittedly was coloring someone's hair at that moment) which oil she'd recommend of the two I had grabbed, and she flashed me a look that could have melted glass for even daring to ask for advice. I ended up spending $170 only to later realized I forgot something in my hurried attempt to gtfo of there. I gladly paid the $6 shipping to have the single item sent so that I don't have to visit that oppressively rude staff again. read more

I don't know why I keep giving this place a chance. You get a half assed Hello when you walk in the door comparison to that of Cici's pizza where you know it's required they say "welcome in" but nobody actually cares. Every time I come in and wander for ages looking for what I need glancing for someone to help every now and then. No one is ever present. When you come across someone you think is working they're too busy chit chatting about the drama in their life you can't tell if they are actually working or a customer or what. My main issue is that I can never get help when I'm there and I only ever go when I'm looking for new products to try. This location is subpar. Every time I've visited they seem understaffed and under stocked. I used to love getting my brows waxed at the Benefit Bar, but they are so under staffed that there seems to only ever be one person between the Salon and BB able to even do brows and they are booked from here to Sunday night. All I get is the excuse that we only have one girl right now. When looking at products, I'm never greeted and if I have a question I typically have to hunt someone down and then endure the employee's put-out attitude. You'd think after months of knowing this is an issue, they'd work harder on staffing. Needless to say, I'm looking for a new place to get my eyebrows done regularly. To be fair, we came here on Christmas Eve but it was pretty early in the day and they weren't crazy busy. It was not especially well-staffed or at least finding someone to help me wasn't that easy. I was looking for Philosophy bubble bath for 2 people and their selection was SAD. The best flavors had only 1 left and had clearly been opened/used although they weren't testers. They also had a mini-display with some fun xmas flavors but again, had clearly been used and there weren't any others. I understand the xmas ones not being re-stocked but the normal selection was paltry/poorly stocked. Confusingly, there is a huge portion of Philosophy on the right wall but the bubble bath is not with it. It is all the way over in another section with bath items, all of which is stocked by brand within that category. I wish they would figure out how to stock the store more efficiently and organize it better--there is little intuitive to the layout at the moment and it's kind of a wreck. I debated writing this review for a while, but decided to go ahead and warn anyone who might be thinking of getting their hair done at the salon here. My normal hairstylist was out of town and I was gifted a surprise trip by my dad and needed to get my hair touched up before I left. I called and SPECIFICALLY requested a hairstylist that had a lot of experience on my level of blonde (as you can see by my photo I HAD really healthy, long, bright blonde hair.) I even let them know on the phone I didn't mind paying a little more to make sure I had an experienced stylist - I was told: "Sure, we'll get you scheduled with Heather - she's our go-to blonde guru." This was late September 2016. I just asked for a touch up of my all-over highlights and even showed her pictures. She seemed disinterested and responded with "uh-huh, sure." My normal hair is a light-brown, mousy color so it's not like she was trying to white-blonde highlight jet black hair or something. Even if, I asked for a stylist with blonde experience. I could tell when she spent 15-20 minutes trying to tone my hair that this wasn't going to be good. It looks like the color she applied only took to certain places and not others, and where it did take, my hair is ORANGE. I'm telling you, my hair is the color of goldfish crackers. I paid almost $200 for highlights that I could have done myself at home with box-dye better. It is totally uneven and the most horrific shade of orange. I understand, sometimes stuff happens but I should not have been lied to about her level of experience. I even stressed multiple times to her that I can not have my hair turn out brassy. Now she knows her capabilities and at that point should have known to tell me that she probably wasn't the stylist for me. But no, $200 and plenty of tears later I have horrible orange, brassy hair that I can't afford to fix at the moment so I can never wear my hair down. I have to wear it up in a bun with a huge headband that covers as much of my hair as possible. I literally feel like Ulta robbed me of $200 and my beautiful hair, which now feels like straw and has fallen out due to the damage. I used to go to this Ulta for all of my makeup and whenever I needed a refill on my Thierry Mugler perfumes, but they've put such a sour taste in my mouth after this experience I will need to look elsewhere for my beauty needs. Please beware of the salon and do not let Heather touch your hair! read more

I thought I'd give this Ulta another chance but left frustrated and very late after waiting in line for 15 minutes! There were only around 11 customers in the store and they still are completely inept to get it right! The sales clerk who was talking product with a customer in the check out line finally looked over and saw a long line winding around the aisle. She called for help and another clerk who slowly came over, left, came back and began answering phone calls in a valley girl voice before finally helping!! Thumbs down!! read more

I have to agree with the previous review that the layout of this store is off. But that was not why I don't care for this location. I love getting the free gifts with purchase so needless to say I do a lot of walking around looking at all the bonuses. I go to makeup, then shampoo, then maybe nail color, etc. I choose what I want and enjoy shopping. That's what shopping is Ulta staff! Don't follow me around and ask me a gazillion questions. I load up my shopping bag and then go stand in the ridiculously long line with only one cashier. I guess that makes sense when each customer needs a staff member to harass them throughout the store. I went to the salon in Ulta to get an all over color done. When I got there, the woman that greeted me was very friendly and I thought I was going to have a positive experience. Wrong. The woman I ended up with, Jade, seemed very annoyed to be doing my hair, and seemed a little put off with her job in general. She was very unprofessional, went at a very slow pace, and gave me attitude. Not to mention, she didn't seem to know what she was doing because she got hair dye ALL OVER my face, and at one point, i had to ASK her to wipe it off. I now have black stains on the sides of my cheeks becuase her work was very sloppy. I wouldn't reccomment this salon to anyone. The pricing is affordable, but that's about the only positive thing that I can think of. read more

Came in to Ulta because I had a gift card. I usually don't wear make up but I've been wanting to learn more so I figured this was a perfect opportunity. I walked in and talked to associate and she quickly tried to sell me on the most expensive make up (understandable). After telling her that I don't wear makeup often they still wanted me to buy the expensive stuff. I figured if I was going to buy make up I might as well buy quality product. I then asked the manager if she could tell me how to apply the eyeshadow, and instead of helping me or giving me tips she told me "go to YouTube". Absolutely no help. Very disappointed. read more

Want to talk about shit customer service. We lost the receipt to a purchase but used our number. We bought the product had a allergic reaction. Went to return it and the girl helping us was nice about to return it to our original purchase method and this lady next to her was a COMPLETE RUDE B***H! You can't return the product and get it put back on the original method of payment because it doesn't show what card you use and the original receipt. Well that's a load of shit. The people who work here are so rude and incompetent and don't even know there product telling us to go to another store for a certain product. Truly is sad. Any store that uses a rewards system and can REPRINT a receipt can refund it to the original method. The way they came across I just can't believe they even have a job. We got the "merch card" which is just a gift card and the lady next to us behind the counter still argued with us and just rude. I don't even know if I want to go back and give Ulta my business! Re: Ulta in Denton, Texas May 10, 2014 was Prom for Ryan High School in Denton Texas. I booked appointments for hair & makeup 3 weeks ahead of the prom. 2 weeks before the hair stylist, Chantal, called & said it was her brother's graduation night but she would book with an alternate stylist and text me the details. I encouraged her to alternately book us as family is always first. I told her to move us to earlier rather than later as we live so far away. However, I never heard back from Chantal. So, on the next Saturday morning, 1 week before prom, I went into the store to confirm appointments. I was told my daughter's appointment was moved to Margaret (the mgr) and confirmation would be texted to me. NO text received. I called on Wednesday, 3 days before prom, to confirm and was indeed confirmed for 3:30 with Margaret. We arrived for our appointment at 3:25. Margaret was just beginning another girl's hair, the makeup artist (Bailey) was two girls deep. I asked it they were going to get to my daughter in time for us to get home and dress as we live out in the county. Margaret said "Well, we ARE under staffed". Well hells bells - no kidding. We ended up leaving. I drove right down the street to Great Clips at Oak Tree. I told the ladies there what happened and those women had a plan in place in about 15 minutes and my daughter in a chair in another 10. I ran up the street and bought makeup brushes & some products (from Walmart) and we left an hour later with my daughter looking amazing. She looked like a goddess. I'd send you some pictures to see, but Ulta will never see her, or my $$, again. Ever. BTW - I spend about $200 every two months on products for my family. Say good-bye to that! You need a new manager in that beauty salon. GREAT CLIPS saved prom night , and thus Ulta's bacon. You should send them a Thank You card for bailing you out... because I'd be calling my lawyer on Monday morning if prom had been ruined after all I'd invested in it.
