The person working at the store was friendly and welcoming when I came in. When I told her I was just checking stores out she told me to make myself at home and let her know is I have any questions. As I looked around I noticed several artistically made items. From a set of glasses made from Topo-Chico bottles to handmade Chap Stick, this place had a nice variety of items to choose from. I also noticed while I was there that this place offers arts and crafts classes right in the middle of the store. They also keep some items out on the table to entertain children while their parents shop. It was nice and refreshing to find a store like this, and I plan to visit them on future visits!

However, I don't know if we caught them on a bad day, if their inventory was really low after Indie Bookstore Day the weekend before, or if the stars just weren't aligned that day but the store itself was very empty. The book selection was minimal and the staff was not exactly helpful. Frankly the store felt too big for the minimal amount of books they had. Also customer service was absent that day and after asking some questions to the person at the counter you could tell he just didn't want to be there. The difference in customer interaction between this store and others around Denton was like night and day. Would I come back to Patchouli? Maybe, but it wouldn't be my first stop when visiting Denton.

And you create a space that honors the building and updating it with warm wood and fixtures, you're doing it right in my opinion. I loved the selections offered here and so did my daughters and granddaughter. Yes, I bought books here and my granddaughter was thrilled. There's a dedicated children's area with nice seating for them. There was a touch of magic there. Kids were happy and couldn't wait to get to the next book. That is what a book store is supposed to be about. I met the owners and both are genuinely nice and they care about their customers and their business. Both are very knowledgeable and more than happy to help in any way. If you're in Denton, you need to drop in and browse around - I bet you walk out with a great book!

Jordan Reyes was fabulous, she helped me pick several gifts including olive oil gift baskets, honey, cornbread mixes, candles, coffee beans, and small jelly jars. She was very tolerant of all my questions and very helpful in putting all the goods together for transport. I hope the owner(s) can recognize her customer service skills. Reasonable prices, especially for the quality of the goods. Highly recommend.

We purchased a lot of items from different booths. Noticed items missing when we got home…read more Immediately called up there. They told us they forgot to bag items. They verbally confirmed we paid for those items. When we returned to pick up our items they said we had to pay again! We have the receipt. They are refusing to acknowledge they agreed that we paid for items. We requested video evidence from their cameras proving the clerk didn't handle those items. They refused to prove their case. I'm starting to be suspicious that they hold back items to steal from customers!

I then actually applied for the job of Police Officer for our local police department, and was interviewed by a sergeant in the living room of our Roberts St. house, where I grew up with my three sisters and brother Scott, who was a very good French Horn player who went to the world famous and notorious North Texas State University, where he honed his musical performance skills to the apex playing in the Washington, D.C. based National Symphony Orchestra; his pastor wife, Leslie playing alongside. The National Symphony Orchestra is simply the best representative for these United States on the performance stage, and they share a place in my heart, because I actually was blessed with the sacred fortune of joining the orchestra in St. Petersburg, and Moscow in the year 1990. Students of history will remember that the Berlin Wall came crash down, and I was blessed with fortune of witnessing history in the moment of finality and sincere graceful end. Take it from someone who actually stood in freezing snow, in Budapest then the former Soviet Union, now basically retired and resting. Give Caesar what is Caesar's, and dare enough to turn over the evil tax collectors's tables; Jesus Christ saved us all with His blood shed on the cross at Calvary; I am blessed with a short enough memory to fill in the blanks of my rough and tumble daily routines, all of which are currently being stress tested, found to be safe and robust and currently found to be lacking in some ways, including the nebulous and vital ways. Remember, one cannot "study" for a typical physician ordered stress test, unless you consider the very logical process of changing our dietary habits. If we are really prepared to go the whole hog, we really should be positively anchored in our Lord Jesus and continue to improve when we can manage. This tearoom is a family owned women business, and they pay special attention to every detail. It's spacious, beautifully decorated, and makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. Of course the building itself is wonderful, with gorgeous ceiling tiles, and a whispered past. It was the perfect place to share my event as my children's books are vintage inspired. The food was delicious! Everyone commented on the scones - they were a crowd pleaser! But all the food, and the service was truly thoughtful, memorable, and just a delightful experience. I dreamed of holding a release party where people felt like it was an experience and not just a book signing, and that dream came true this day! This tearoom and the owners made this day more than special to me, they made it memorable.

I called to see if they could deliver an arrangement today. Mind you, this was the first day anything in Denton was open after a significant ice storm. I spoke with Megan, who told me they could deliver today. She was very nice, found out exactly what I wanted, and my mother-in-law is thrilled. She said the flowers are gorgeous and she loves them. The roads and sidewalks are still treacherous in Denton, so it would have been understandable if they couldn't deliver today, but I'm very grateful that they did.
