Everything had to come off the wood floors from kitchen, breakfast area, dining room, living room, hallway etc. They also moved furniture away from walls in other rooms so trim could be cleaned and then painted. Both men were very conscientous of our belongings and treated them with great care. All furniture, refrigerator and gas stove were carefully placed in our garage. As serious as they were with moving carefully and quickly they both have a friendly & approachable demeanor. Answering questions and keeping it light made for an enjoyable experience. The reviews look real, they're well-rated and really close to home so I give them a call. Charlie at the office takes in all my information including details about each location and a basic inventory of key pieces of furniture in addition to packed boxes. They check in a couple of days beforehand and we are good to go! Day of the move, Malik, Hunter and Tyrell show up in a fairly large truck. They help me break down some furniture (bed frames) and try to leave as much intact for the move. For my 2 bedroom apartment it takes maybe 2 1/2 hours to bring it all down. Unfortunately I live on the 3rd floor which slows things down. On the destination side it takes a little over an hour to unload which includes re-assembling stuff. Didn't find many/any dings on the walls or furniture, they wrap the edges for safety. I tip the team and say a huge thank you for this big step forward in my move. Overall I was very happy with their service, it was a little under $900 for the 5 mile move but heck, I sure couldn't have done it on my own. While I was concerned about some of the negative reviews I saw online, my experience was top-notch for the move!

Johnny and his team, Travis and James, showed up on time and were both personable and very efficient with their work. They were careful with all the pieces (there were some older pieces of furniture that needed to be handled with care). In one case a bolt & washer unscrewed from the stand they had been on, but they found them on the truck for us. They were also very fast with both the loading and unloading of the truck which was great since we all had to drive back to the Triangle from Charlotte. Overall it was a pleasure working with Johnny, Travis & James. I would highly recommend them if anyone is looking for a moving company in the Triangle.

We chose Safe & Sound because of the company's stellar Yelp reviews and its average Yelp rating when compared to other moving companies in the Triangle. Safe & Sound seemed like a safe bet and I'm happy to report that it was. We moved from a two-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom condo. We added on: (1) a stop to drop off furniture at my parents' house in High Point, North Carolina and (2) haul-away of some items in Atlanta. The total cost for everything was $4,075, broken down as follows: * 2 movers + equipment, loading in Chapel Hill (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * 2 movers + equipment, loading in Chapel Hill (0.5 hour, additional time required) - $77.50 * 2 movers + equipment, unloading in High Point (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * 2 movers + equipment, unloading in Atlanta (1 hour, minimum) - $155 * Deposit for travel and truck - $50 * Haul-away (junk removal) of double mattress, double box spring, bed frame, one standard dining room chair, and torchiere floor lamp - $125 * Remainder of balance for travel - $2,875 * Additional cost/payment - $182.50 * Tip for mover 1 - $150 * Tip for mover 2 - $150 A $485 total deposit was due upfront to secure the reservation. We asked for the movers to show up at a specific date and time. We paid the $485 total deposit 26 days in advance with a credit card. The rest ($3,590) was paid via multiple Zelle transactions after we arrived in Atlanta. In hindsight, I think I may have overpaid $50 because the $50 deposit for the travel and truck was included in our $485 total deposit. I believe that same $50 was included in the remainder of the balance for travel. In other words, I think the $2,875 above should have been $2,825, but I could be wrong. Also, in my stress and exhaustion from the move, I forgot what the additional cost/payment of $182.50 was for. It made sense at the time, when I signed the form ("Uniform Household Goods Bill of Lading - 35 Miles or Less") after the move was complete. I was just happy it was over and that my wife, the movers, and I all made it safely to Atlanta in three separate vehicles on moving day. I do think all of the costs could have been communicated more clearly in writing for our understanding. Money aside, as for the move itself, it generally went well. We scheduled a 9:00-10:00am arrival window for the movers. This was on a Wednesday. We were packed and ready to go at 9am. Unfortunately, the movers were delayed and showed up around 10:45am. They arrived in a 26-foot white Penske truck. It's my understanding they rented it that morning. While it was overkill for the amount of stuff we had, I believe it was the best available truck at the time. It looked new. The movers were Hamza (lead) and Sula. They were great. Very kind and polite. These were young guys in their early 20s. They both wore Safe & Sound T-shirts. They worked hard, quickly and carefully wrapping and protecting our queen mattress and furniture with stretch wrap and blankets, and moving all sorts of heavy boxes and miscellaneous items (e.g., my awkward and heavy standing desk system, computer monitor, office chair mat, torchiere floor lamp, vacuum cleaner) from our third-floor apartment with no elevator on a hot summer day. At the loading site, we treated them to cold Gatorades. It took them about 1.5 hours to do the load in Chapel Hill. We left Chapel Hill around roughly 12:30pm. Hamza ran the show. We made it clear which items were to be dropped off first in High Point and which items were going all the way to Atlanta. No issues there. My parents were very happy with Hamza and Sula's work at the unload in High Point. The two made it to Atlanta around 10:00pm and the unload in Atlanta took less than an hour. Long day. My wife and I made it to Atlanta earlier - around 7:30pm. Unlike Hamza and Sula, we did not stop in High Point. We wanted to get to Atlanta before them so we could get the condo ready for the unload. It worked out. Hamza told me they were going to try and drive back to Raleigh/Cary that night! Only one of our items, a shoe rack, was damaged. All things considered, not a big deal so I didn't bring it up. I can remember three other moves I did with three other moving companies and one item was damaged in each move. It happens. For the haul-away, I only mentioned the mattress and box spring. I added on the other items when I saw them in Atlanta. They didn't charge me extra for that, which I appreciate and must mention here. I sent the tips directly and individually to Hamza and Sula for a job well done. As for scheduling and payment, my wife and I communicated with Jaber (a.k.a. Omar), the owner of Safe & Sound Moving Company. Jaber was on top of everything and quick to respond via Yelp messaging, text messaging, and phone calls. Thank you, Jaber, Hamza, and Sula!

The written quote I requested was sent via text, and I didn't sign a contract until they arrived at the pick-up location. They brought sufficient workers to load and unload our belongings efficiently and with no damage. Not all our boxes were labeled, so they made sure to check with me as to where they should go. The total process took 4 hours (unloading, loading, moving, unloading). When it is time for us to move again, we will seek out Romero Movers.

We eventually just dropped the crap back off and called it a loss. I'm sure she is smug thinking she really showed us but we just didn't want to waste any more time or money on her drama. Avoid Using Budget Dumpster and Avoid Damage to Your Property…read more.. (I contemplated giving them only one star, but figured a two-star rating would draw readers, as one-star ratings tend to appear as knee-jerk responses to bad service) In early February, 2025, I rented a dumpster from Budget Dumpster for the second time in as many years. My first experience was fine. This one was a disaster, complete with several hundred dollars worth of property damage for which Budget Dumpster compensated me only a fraction of the cost. Upon delivery, the driver gouged a trench into my gravel driveway. I did not notice it until the dumpster was picked up 10 days later. That damage by itself would've been somewhat tolerable, but it was upon pick-up that the real damage occurred. I'm not sure who they employ to drive their vehicles, but this individual's CDL should be revoked. Despite having an wide entry to the driveway being used for deliveries of this nature (which has accommodated trucks of all sizes for years), the driver drove off of the side of the road and THROUGH my yard, damaging the moss turf (complete with deep tire tracks). Then they ran over the decorative edge of my fence at the edge of the property, and topped off the damage by crushing a 6"x 6''x 6' landscape timber, bordering my driveway. I immediately called Budget dumpster to start the claim process. To their credit, I got a response the next business day, but after that initial engagement, nothing but crickets for 10 days. They finally responded with a request for estimates, despite having photos of the damage, so right out of the gate they wanted me to do the legwork. When I provided that information to them, I got an immediate response indicating they would only pay approximately 25% of what it would cost for materials and labor to repair the damages. In this offer, they included the following contract language excerpt: EXCEPT IN THE EVENT OF GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR INTENTIONAL MISCONDUCT, CUSTOMER HEREBY WAIVES ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND LOSSES AGAINST THE COMPANY AND ITS SUBCONTRACTORS, HAULER SUBCONTRACTORS... OK, so driving through my yard, damaging the turf, crushing the edge of a fence and a landscape timber, not to mention the initial damage incurred upon delivery (a 6ft x 6in gouge in my gravel driveway) isn't GROSS NEGLIGENCE??? Best case, it's egregious driver incompetence. If you look at the photos below, I think "gross negligence" is pretty obvious. In addition, it seems Budget Dumpster grudgingly acknowledged some degree of "gross negligence," otherwise, why would they offer any compensation at all? Regardless, I rejected their lowball offer, but in the end - after a couple of hours of emails and back-and-forth phone calls with someone who only referred to themselves as "David R." in Ohio (why not provide your last name to your customers, David?) - they only added an additional $36 to the overall claim and washed their hands of any other responsibility or costs. The rest was on me, and as a retired disabled Vet, I do not look forward to having to repair that fence or remove/replace a heavy railroad tie on my own. Among readers of this review, some might say "Hey, quit complaining - you got a little something." My response to that would be why should I or any other customer accept that? Why is it OK for any business to come onto anyone's property and do hundreds of dollars worth of damage, but only pay a small percentage of that and walk away? So I guess in closing I'll simply say that if any of you are willing to accept this kind of buffoonery and incompetence from any business, much less a second rate dumpster company like Budget Dumpster, then be my guest and hire them. Maybe you'll get lucky and the driver won't destroy too much of your property. To the rest of you, I'd advise not doing business with Budget Dumpster, especially anyone who has served and been disabled in the performance of their duties as a Military Veteran or First Responder.

We all know that hiring from websites like Craigslist can be a 50/50 shot. After calling more than several moving assistant companies with no availability. I called Community Labors. The website identified exactly what it represented and what my expectations should be. And that's exactly what Community Labors delivered. The sign up process was easy. No hidden fees. I was told what time to expect Deron. Deron showed up 15mins early. I received a phone call from Norman stating the helper had arrived. Which I greatly appreciate. Deron asked how I wanted the moving of items to go. He followed my instructions. And immediately proceeded working. He worked from beginning to the end. The shift was scheduled for 5 hours. This company offered a variety of options for your moving experience. Which I liked. They were able to accommodate a late start time. None of my items were broken or damaged. Deron never complained about the process of moving boxes from the 3rd floor to a parking lot. He had a great attitude and deposition about working. I felt comfortable and safe in his presence. Deron was also kind to my sons and dog. He was never disrespectful. I could not be more pleased with Community Labors and Deron. I would 100% hire again. As a worker for Community Labor Partnership, this being my 5th job, I'm beyond thankful for the near daily opportunities given, which give me the ability to work towards uplifting myself back into a favorable environment and situation. The jobs also give me an opportunity daily to be able to leave town for however long the jobs is, allowing me some much needed alone time on the road, seeing, passing and sometimes even stopping at places I've not only never been, but some I've never even heard of, like today for example, and the job in 'Cool', CA . The customers are welcoming, very polite and respectful and caring, either making us lunch or going out heir way to purchase us lunch usually at the staurant of our choice, which motivates us to want to work even that much harder to deliver the best service possible they can be satisfied with upon our completion. I want to give a big thanks to everyone involved with the company, from the operators that connect us with the customers, the owners and all other staff, as well as the workers like myself. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!! They will not pay for damages. I hired them to do 5 hours of yard work. I gave them a $78.35 deposit and was told to give the worker $100.00 cash upon completion. I was sent a receipt and the scope of work but no condition of service except for cancelations. The laborer showed up and worked very hard for 4.5 hours. At the end he was weed whacking the last side yard when a rock went into one side of my sliding glass door and it shattered because of the tempered safety glass. The laborer took pictures and sent an incident report to the company and he was told a manager would call me on Monday. I paid the laborer $120.00 because he did a great job. After I put in a couple phone calls someone called me back Monday afternoon. I was told they were not responsible and I should read the terms and conditions listed in the client agreement. I was never sent an agreement to sign or review! I still don't know where to find one. The company rep then hung up on me. When I tried to call back, I was blocked. I got an email 20 minutes later saying they refunded my $78.35 deposit. The replacement window cost me $378.17 so I am out $294.82 I will be putting this review on as many sites as I can to warn people. read more

Found this group through craigslist to hire as labor for a move. Found the cost to be slightly inexpensive compared to private movers offering services. I really enjoyed the idea that I would be also using a service that is associated with helping people in my community get part-time work. I hired 3 movers for 2 hours of work, however for some reason a fourth worker showed up, which was fine but I had to run out and get additional cash to pay this person. My only issue was that not everyone arrived at the same time, so I had to run the job over each time someone arrived. I also had to call and text the CLP manager to confirm the process of payment, which you would divide up the remaining balance (plus tip) to pay each worker. Everyone was fast and friendly, maybe a little too fast, they ended up finishing before the 2-hour limit, but I felt like the organization of items in the moving truck could have been done a little better, I ended up having to reorganize the items later that evening on my better. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to use CLP again for any future needs. read more

We had booked 2 guys to help uus load up a moving truck a month ago. Guy #1 showed up on time, guy #2 right after him. While guy #2 was asking to see everything we were loading into the truck to get an idea of fit, guy #1 soon thereafter asked me if "do you really me? Because I have a lot on my mind and a lot to do taking care of my animals and so forth." I responded "yes, I definitely need you", after all why would I ask for 2 guys to then only use 1? While guy #2 and I walked down the driveway discussing the scope of work, guy #1 turned around and went back to his vehicle and rapidly drove away. I had to call Community Labor Partnership to get guy #1 replaced. That was easy enough and the replacement stayed the entire time getting things done along with guy #2. These guys worked super hard and were tipped well. The job was completed and we fed them. I told Community Labor Partnership to have the guys bring their own food but that apparently was not conveyed. In any case, it all worked out in the end and I hope they don't bring that runaway boy back for any jobs, he's an embarrassment! read more

This program is simply fantastic! Setting up the date and time for the workers we needed to dig our drywell was quick and easy. Both Mark and Manuel showed up right on time and went right to work. Both men were cordial, but were focused on getting the job done. Our job included digging a 4' deep by 5' diameter hole, moving the dirt by wheelbarrow back by our barn about 150' feet, then moving a huge pile of rocks to fill the new hole about 100' from the hole. It was a difficult and tedious job. Manuel worked non-stop and worn his mask the entire time. Mark, who was older than Manuel, did a fine job too. This service is a god-send for older couples like my husband and I. Knowing we can depend on these workers to show up on time and work like the project was their own is appreciated more than we can say. Thank you Manuel and Mark and Community Labor Partnership!! Tried 2 moving jobs. First client flaked. Second time they over booked and I tried to speak up on the speakerphone belonging to one of the movers with nick to interject that I already spoke with the client and they said it was ok. But the mover accused me of yelling at him at got aggressive like he was fresh out of prison with his crappy sleeve tattoos and visible dip. No masks or gloves like they claimed. $15/HR for moving is low. I never make that little. This organization sucks. They aren't helping anybody. They are middlemaning, skimming, making lying claims, no accountability. I'd also like to point out that they only ask for a first name when screening movers of craigslist. Which is not what you want at all when you're inviting strangers into your house to move your stuff. Post a help wanted add in the gigs section on craigslist and get full names so you can screen people better. read more

SEXIST/DISCRIMINATORY practices!! I've actually been a local laborer who has completed jobs for Community Labor Partnerships, but this past weekend they lost a laborer due to sexist/discriminatory actions. After texting for 1.5 HOURS with their coordinator about a job, being assured 'the job is SEALED for you' and letting them know I was on my way...two minutes prior to my arrival I'm asked if I'm 'male or female'. And within 15 minutes of this text I am told 'client only needs 2 workers =( and guy 1 and guy 2 is already listed as his workers =('! WHAT?!?!? Guy 1 and Guy 2 showed up AFTER me, and at what point during the last 1.5 hours did I suddenly not have the job 'sealed for me'? Oh, AFTER you asked if I was male or female! And then CLP blames/claims their CLIENT requested 'male movers', but ONLY after I started asking questions of why I was taken off the job! read more

Reviewing as a worker, my car had broken down and I needed money quickly for the repair. I came across Community Labor Partners and they were the answer to my prayers. I was offered a job for the next day, close enough that I could arrive 15 minutes early, put in 8 hours and get paid at the end of my day. I was aid the same day, for the work I completed. The client was very nice lady who provided water and Gatorade and the tools need for the job. She had also used Community Labor Partnership before and she told me she was happy with the workers she has received through them. Hi my experience with the labor community partership was this i had finally gotten a job with a specific thing i was doing the same day happened i manifested it or not i was able to talk through with the dispatcher the job had gotten cancel because the pay was too high so i told her it was unfourtunate but luck prevaled and she was open to share that there was a job opening the next day so i had time to plan it out honestly she did not fill out the proper description of the job i had coming the next day and it happened to be something better. A weeks worth of a job instead so hopefully anyone can take into consideration that i am going farther and some from a lil bit of miscommunication from both parties twice otherwise having found this wouldve been an inconvience for all of our parts. Recently we needed to have everything taken out of our two car garage, moved out onto the drive way, organized and put back. we were making room for a new car. in order to do this , we had to move a Very heavy piece of marble that was lying across the opening, and move it up against the wall. By the way, the garage was packed all the way to the front with boxes of books, furniture, etc. we have fretted about this for over a year. I called Community Labor Partnership, and told them we needed 4 strong movers. I explained everything in detail. 4 strong men arrived, and were so efficient that they finished in 3 hours! OUTSTANDING and RELIABLE SERVICE!!!! This is my 2nd time using CLP and they offer quality and reliable service with the workers that they provide. I signed up to hire a worker for 2 hours and the prices are VERY reasonable. 1/2 of the payment was taken online (secured) with a credit card number and the rest was to be paid directly to the worker in cash, after the job was completed. CLP sent a text to confirm my laborer and provided his name and followed up with a phone call to make sure he arrived to do the job. Our laborer's name was Tim. He arrived EARLY, was a hard worker, followed direction easily, did not need supervision, and did an OUTSTANDING job!!! I requested one person to help move a stove into the garage thru the front door. In addition I wanted various items relocated from the guest bedroom to the garage and then items from the living room moved to the guestroom (gym equipment)! I wanted the Lanai vacuumed and the backyard garden tidied up ( some dead plants sixed/pots adjusted/potting soil brought in from the side of the house.). My sister and I were very stressed at having to move my mom out of her apartment in an assisted living community in two hours. I was late arriving with the borrowed truck. To my surprise, Kevin and his coworker (Julian?) showed up early and based on a phone description were able to sign in to the facility, show their vaccine cards, find the apartment, wrap and bring down most of the furniture/items all before I even showed up with the truck! I was blown away by their expertise, preparedness, professionalism and kindness. They got all the items packed, and loaded into a storage unit in under the two hours. Highly recommend as these guys do great work! I had them come out and perform landscaping work last week. They connected me with skilled and friendly workers who took care of everything I hoped they would. I was able to communicate effectively with them and address multiple things I needed to have done. I can vouch for their workers being pleasant and efficient, as well as well priced. Also, the workers had masks on the entire time and were respectful of social distancing as well. It is nice that this business was created to help workers find gigs during these tough COVID times. And thankfully all the work was done correctly and quickly! Contacting Community Resources was my best move yet, when I needed mover help. I had been in contact with another "mover" (very misleading ad on Craigslist and generally unpleasant guy to have a conversation with). When that deal fell through because he kept jacking up his prices along with his terrible attitude, I made a quick call to Community Resources. Best decision, right there. The two guys they sent out were ready, willing and able to haul my extra furniture in the 2 hours I had budgeted. Chris was extremely helpful, taking charge and getting it all handled. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! Only a 1 because I can't give a 0. Community Labor Partnership of Pittsburgh assigned two workers to help with my move on 1/31/25. Freddie M. and Tyrone J. They put in about 2 hrs. of hard work, were contracted for 8 hrs. They dropped the refrigerator bending and scratching it up, broke glass in a hutch and cracked the back of a dresser. The thinner of the two complained, argued, and refused to do what he was asked most of the day. When I contacted the company, I was offered a $41.27 refund and did not offer to fix anything. I spent almost $900! When I said this was ridiculous, I was offered the full refund of $82.54!!! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

The next day, bellhops called me again to tell me I was still on the schedule for two men and no truck. That's a hard pass. Just disjointed and unprofessionally handled. Tech is great when it works. Otherwise, you're not improving or disrupting anything. The dude who actually completed my move from another company didn't have fancy tech, but he and his guy AND TRUCK showed up on time and did great work. That's worth more than an app or gimmick. Hopefully Bellhops will tighten their process for reserving trucks and crews together, which is pretty much the point of professional movers. ‍

I was moving and hired this company through U-Haul; seeing they were the cheapest option, I figured they could at least help us move our large furniture onto a truck. I booked them, and the company contacted me over the weekend, confirming they could help us move on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. Come Monday morning, 10:30, no one arrived. There was no contact from them regarding lateness nor confirming again they were on the way. I was fairly patient and expected things not to be perfect, so I texted at 10:36 asking when they would be coming. Not until 11:00 (30 minutes after the time they confirmed they would help us) did I receive a text back saying they were finishing up a move and would come after. At 11:01, I asked for a rough time estimate of when that would be. It took until 12:00 for them to text me that they would be arriving at 12:30. Come 12:30, no one showed up, and no one contacted me to say they were on the way. I called the number again at 12:50, and the man on the phone was surprised when I told him no one had shown up. He said he would call me back. 15 minutes went by with no calls. I called his number again but this time he did not pick up. At 1:10, nearly 3 hours after the confirmed moving time, when we had moved nearly all our belongings down to the truck ourselves, we finally received a call from the movers Legacy sent saying they were parked a block away. The two movers who showed up were great. They worked fast, getting the last of the furniture, and were kind. However, when talking to them, I learned they were hired off Craigslist the day before (never worked with Legacy before) and could barely reach the moving company. Along with this, I learned the move they were doing before (the one I was told they had to finish up first) wasn't even for the company; they were moving a personal friend's stuff that morning. When I called the company number, Legacy did not apologize and told me that there was a two-hour minimum. They would not be discounting any of the price despite being three hours late and barely communicating. After all this poor communication, the movers and I lost so much confidence in Legacy that neither of us were sure if they would be paid. We ended up letting them wait with us an extra ten minutes so that they could use our wifi and confirm Legacy cash-apped them payment. That, the company at least did fairly promptly. TL;DR Do not use this company. They are just an uncommunicative middleman for hiring movers off craigslist.

In 2018, We were moving from an apartment to a house which was only an 8 mile trip. I called and a representative came to our apartment for an assessment. We were in the middle of packing so items were not quite move ready. The gentleman asked me where I worked which was none of his business mind you, and in red flag territory, but I was focused on getting this move done, so I let that go. He also asked if the woman present ( my wife ) was my mother, yes another red flag that we chose to ignore. He stepped out of the apartment called the office I presume and came back with a quote which was a little high, and then left. But because we were in a serious time crunch, the company had favorable reviews, and I like to support local family owned businesses, I called and left a voicemail accepting the quote. I lost three valuable days waiting for a call back that never came. We called back but never spoke to a human. I don't know why we were ghosted, and it might be possible that the high quote was to scare us off instead being straight with us out of some concern that I could not pay them, or simply of telling us they were fully booked or maybe the the third floor apartment was a concern. But that is only speculation. I do hold out the possibility that perhaps something serous like a family emergency might be a factor, but I still should have received a callback. I eventually called another company (ATHENS which I already left a yelp review for), they moved us without issue and they got my money because I did have a job. They even picked up new appliances we purchased on the way to our new home. I hope my experience with Taylor is the exception and not the norm.
