I had a terrible experience with Community Labor Partnership (CLP) and would strongly caution others against hiring them. I requested two painters for my home, and only one worker showed up. The one who showed up made me feel unsafe in my own home, spending most of the time talking about his troubled past and present rather than focusing on the job. The second person never came at all--instead, he texted me asking to arrange something privately where I would pay him more than the CLP's rate, otherwise he wouldn't come. I declined, but the fact that he even tried was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. The work that was done was substandard, and the worker left behind a mess that I had to clean myself. It is clear to me that the people sent by Community Labor Partnership are not properly vetted, despite the customer service representative insisting they conduct background checks. I was also very uncomfortable that my personal cell phone number and home address were handed out directly to the workers--one of whom tried to coerce me for more money. Overall, this experience felt unsafe and unprofessional. I will never use Community Labor Partnership again. read more

Terrible experience, would not recommend. I scheduled a service and it was canceled the same day without proper notice. When I tried to reschedule, I explained that I needed it done before the following week, but they were completely unaccommodating, despite the cancellation being on their end. When I asked to speak to a manager about rescheduling without extra charges, I was told the person I was speaking to (named Randal) was the highest manager. I found this hard to believe, especially when he refused to escalate the issue or even send a confirmation email about my refund. To make matters worse, after I insisted on canceling and refused to pay additional fees, they blocked my number from calling the company. The customer service team appears to be outsourced, and I received no real help or accountability from anyone. Extremely unprofessional and frustrating experience. Avoid booking with them. read more

On the morning of my move,1 showed up. They found me another work 1.5 hours later. They gave me a refund for one worker not showing up but said that since technically two showed up, they had to charge me for two. read more

We booked two services on two separate days. The first was for a painter only - we supplied the supplies. He was excellent and did just what we needed him to do. He even stayed a bit longer than we booked to make sure the job was done right. The second booking was for the following day for two workers to move mulch from the driveway to the backyard. These two arrived 15 and 20 minutes late and because we were under time pressure we cancelled their services as by that time we had arranged for other workers to do it for us already. CLP and the workers themselves were very understanding about this and we received a refund for our deposit as it wasn't our fault the workers were so late. Moving/Loading onto truck experience. Had a huge moving job my whole house had to be loaded onto a truck, found Community Labor Partnership on Craigslist and gave them a shot. Had two dif crews of guys for two dif days. Each day the guys that were sent out showed up on time and worked really hard. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great but they powered through the rain and managed to safely remove all items and secure them in the truck. Friendly Helpful group of loaders. No problems at all only had positive experience. Found on Craigslist was worried but fig we'd try. Easy booking online with their website. Easy pay online. Had follow up phone call to confirm and go over details. If need someone for 2 hrs or more they have the people waiting to take your job. Even received text/call to confirm workers showed up. We provided the dollys and hand carts, one of the workers actually came with his own in case he needed it. We had a few heavy items and they did their best to manage the items safely on truck. I paid for a 2-5 hour moving/ labor service even tho I only had enough stuff that 2 hours would have been just enough. I took the extra hours so they would take their time and be careful with my stuff and could use the extra labor for odds and ends to be moved after. Two guys showed up and rushed the job, damaging property. Carelessly reassembled my furniture and said after two hours they completed the job. Even tho I said I paid for 5 hours of labor. They left at 2 hours and said I should have been more prepared. Really? Not worth it if you don't know the exact hours you need and don't count on the extra hours. I used this service to find a couple workers to help me empty my storage unit and load a moving truck. The service was priced amazing and super smooth and easy booking. Customer service is great and very kind. They keep you informed all the way up to the time the workers are on site working with you. I had a worker get a flat tire and unable to make it to the job and the dispatcher found a replacement worker and had them at my unit within less than an hour. The work was done in a timely manner and both were extremely professional. I was shocked that a service like this was legit and actually followed through. This company is horrible! DO NOT HIRE!!! They advertise themselves as helping people get back into the workforce, when in fact they publish ads on craigslist and get workers who they never vet. I hired them to some packing for me. The movers literally THREW things in the packing pods, broke items, did not wrap any of the tables with the blankets I provided, and took up four pods instead of the two needed, which would have cost me almost $1000 more to ship and store. They also never gave me the correct lock codes that they assigned to each pod. So, I had to hire professional movers and a lock smith to cut off locks and then repack my pods the right way. Overall this move cost me double what it should because the movers were so bad. The new movers called me to say, "we have never seen anything like this before, we are so sorry." Also, I have cameras outside of the house and could see the movers hanging out and chatting. They also left many items in the house that never got packed. Then, I called every day for 5 days asking for help in assisting me with these issues. Every day they said something like "ma'am we know you had an issue and we are going to have a supervisor call you back today or within 24 hours." NO ONE EVER called me back. I had to keep calling and calling. I should not that maybe someone will call me back, but 5 days later they have not. Lastly, when I hired Community Labor Partners they assured me that moving is one of their specialties and expertise. read more

This service is 100% a scam. In late May 2024, I booked 2 "painters" for 8 hours each for two days. Both days, neither painter showed up on time or worked the agreed upon 8 hours. In fact, one day one showed up 4 hours late and only worked about 4.5 hours. After two "days", the two bedrooms and bathrooms I wanted painted were still not finished. In addition, they left a huge mess everywhere. I mean, I have paint on my carpeted stairs on two levels and I can't even explain how much paint was left all over my hardwood floors. I literally had to take a day off work just to try to clean up the mess they left behind on the hardwood. They even managed to paint over the electrical outlets in one room! I immediately reached out to the customer service agent, explained the situation, and was told a "manager" would contact me. After several days, I called back again because they never followed up. I was again told they would return my call. Still to this day, I have never heard from them. They essentially took my money and left a huge mess for me and still didn't complete the work they agreed to do. First time I knew about Community Labor Partnership when I was moving out of State driving a van myself. I needed the labors to upload in the original destination and to unload in the destination. I came accross in a Craigslist, thats to which I requested them at a very reasonable cost. I had a bitter experience with TaskRabbit, which the committed labor canceled just one hour before, and we had to do all by ourselves. I wanted to avoid such situations. CLP staff kindly informed me how the system works, and an alternative labor will come if the commited one can't make. I had wonderful experience in both places, California and Washington. They were creative and knowledgeable upl/unloading and to get all the stuff in a nicely organized way. Very impressive! I will keep CLP and get rid of TaskRabbit for sure! read more

We decided to move ourselves from a 3 bedroom house in CT to a 3 bedroom house in NH. We did a lot of upfront work in moving small items to a storage unit close by to the new house. When we came down to moving all the large house items into a 26 foot U-Haul truck, we found help with the CT loading using local young men we knew in the area. Needing help on the NH location to unload and move in, we made a number of calls to local movers, most of them were booked supporting a lot of moves for college students. After getting referred to, and reading online reviews, we chose to use CLP to help us in the move by providing two workers for three hours with the ability to extend. We were happy on the details they took about the job and assured us we would get quality helpers. We paid the down payment and told to expect to pay workers with cash for the remaining balance. They explained the local dispatcher would call us an hour before the job to verify the workers and location. So on the day of our move in, after the house closing with the attorney, we were 30 mins from the help arriving. I realized that I had not heard from the dispatcher so I called the number provided in the confirmation. The woman who answered checked and stated that the two workers had confirmed and would arrive at 1:00 pm per the schedule. So I stated they had 20 mins left and I would be putting them to work immediately. At 12:55 pm I received a call back saying both workers had cancelled and they wanted to reschedule the job. I told them rescheduling was not an option and asked could they find other helpers. I was told not for today. So I ended up having two of my sons schedule vacation day from work, paid for an extra day for the U-Haul truck, to get the job done. So no matter what positive reviews I had seen with CLP online, they absolutely left me out with zero options. I pushed back to get a refund of my deposit versus rescheduling. I will never use them going forward and would recommend using a more reliable service if considering. read more

This is the worst service I have ever witnessed. I booked my move on August 19 for September 30. I was called to confirm all of my information on August 26, then again on August 29. I just was thinking today, September 22, that I should probably add an additional hour to the labor. When I called, they told me that they had canceled my reservation back on September 6 since they realize they did not have a truck for my move. When I had them send a manager to me, their manager then told me that it was because I am out of the service area! No call - just canceled. I have now called seven moving companies and cannot find one that has room to schedule my move for next weekend. Three different people confirmed my reservation with me yet, I am the one who is screwed. read more
