I took the family here on a Friday night. The place was packed. There was some confusion at the door because we didn't know whether to sit or wait to be seated. We eventually got seated and ordered. There was no wi-fi, unfortunately. The food took a while in the kitchen (understandably, it's pizza) , but it was delicious and worth the wait. I appreciated that the atmosphere was friendly and the music set a nice tone. I love that there wasn't a dozen TVs on every wall. I would definitely come back. read more

We just moved here from Arizona, where I was born and raised. Although, we fortunately moved to state known for their fantastic food. You still miss the food and restaurants you grew up eating at. We found Commodore's on a Facebook page and decided to give it a shot. We were thrilled that it gave us that pizza from home taste we were missing. They have that perfect combination of sauce, cheese and crust. The cheese goes almost all the way to the edge, my kids eat the entire thing without discarding the crust. Best meat lovers pizza in town! The Parmesan cheesy bread is off the chain! My husband & I have a rating scale for every restaurant we go to. We believe the supreme (Godfather pizza) is really good here, but East if Italy has the best supreme pizza in our opinion. I expected this place to be a very tiny hole in the wall, but to my surprise it had booths, a bar, & friendly service. Go just after lunch around 1 or 1:30 & your wait won't be so long. Ok, this review has nothing to do with the quality of the food. On Father's Day, they were only serving pizzas and salads. The problem is that they should have informed the customers on their way into the restaurant. Either tell them upon entering the restaurant or post signs to inform the customers that they were not serving the full menu. Very poor customer service. read more

They have the best pizza in tangipahoa parish honestly! Everything even other then just the pizza is always hot and fresh, and everyone is always friendly, welcoming. Sometimes you may catch a super long wait but other then that there isn't any negatives. They get extremely busy mostly every day so if you aren't to keen on waiting or being in full places I'd say get there at 11 exactly. read more

Sauce was oddly sweet, didn't think it went well with the cheese and dough. Sweet sauce is not what I expected. Dough- definitely frozen, not made in house. Could be wrong but it doesn't taste like it. Decent taste though. Bottom of pizza burnt black on bottom. Cheese- good quality cheese, salty blend though, good cream/oil ratio. I didn't like the Commodore pizza at all. The beef tasted bad. The waitress did not ask why we did not eat our food nor did she refill our drinks...not even once. She never came back with our change either. I felt instead she was talking about me with the owner because I didn't leave a bigger tip. I hadn't left a tip yet! That was change from the bill. It wasn't busy at all. The breadsticks and Alfredo were good according to my 11 year old. I still wouldn't recommend at all. Then to add to this review, my daughter left her phone there. They called her dad using her contacts instead of calling her mom she was obviously with nearby. I'll never understand that or how they got into her password protected phone. I am a huge pizza snob. I think the best pizza anywhere I have ever found is Tower of Pizza in Metairie. I have eaten pizza all over the United States. Commodores Pizza was absolutely amazing... ate there for the first time today. I cant believe their is pizza that good right here in Hammond, LA. We just found "the best kept secret in Hammond"! When you are greeted by the owner, his parents, AND his grandparents you know it's gonna be good. If you like Tommy's sweet sauce and breadsticks you are gonna LOVE Commodores. They beat Tommy's in every aspect. It's quieter, more family oriented, and very personalized by the fact that the owner and family make it a point to talk to the customers and make sure you are enjoying your meal. I had the Calzone and all I can say is "da bomb". The portions are large enough that if a couple wants to split an order, there's more than enough for two.
