Pizza Margherita, Isabella's Pizzeria, Italian food
Bonnie B.

DoorDashed 12/03/2022 @4:39pm OVERALL+PRICE+QTY: 3 of 5-Stars * Picture 7a+7b = DoorDash Order * Picture #1 = Pizza Margherita - Recv'd Picture #1b = Pizza Margherita - Shown 1/5-StarsThis was a substitution, I initially ordered a Shrimp Pesto Pizza, but it was NOT AVAILABLE. I noticed afterward it was Removed as an option from their DoorDash Menu. DoorDash immediately contacted Me, so I just asked to substitute the Margherita Pizza at the same cost. SADLY, I should have asked for a Refund. This Pizza was NOTHING LIKE SHOWN‼ It was basically just a Cheese Pizza. There was NO BASIL (unless You count the 2 Pieces of BLACK BURNT Dust!!) & the Tomatoes were tiny and diced, NOT Nice Chunks of Tomatoes shown in the Pic on DoorDash - PICTURE #1b VERSUS PICTURE #1. * PICTURE #2 - Alfredo Pasta (Chicken) = $8.25 5/5-Stars The Chicken Alfredo Pasta was creamy and had nice chunks of Chicken, with a decent serving size for the price. * PICTURE #3 = Roasted Eggplant+Red Pepper Sandwich = $9.95 2/5-Stars = The sandwich was Ok, but not Good. It didn't have much flavor, and was mostly melted Mozzarella Cheese, a Few Slices of Eggplant+Mayo (PICTURE #4). I know there was Red Peppers in there (maybe 2-3 pieces?), but all together they didn't add much flavor, so I was a bit disappointed. * PICTURE #4 - Inside of Roasted Eggplant+Red Pepper Sandwich * PICTURE #5 - Mozzarella Sticks = $9.95 4/5-Stars = This Appetizer/Starter was the BEST Part of the order, and worth the Cost. The Mozzarella Sticks were Big+Thick, Breaded well & mostly Hot. They could have been Hotter+the Cheese more melted. The Marinara sauce had a good flavor, but was definitely not enough for the number sticks served. I had to grab some spaghetti sauce out of the refrigerator. Oh! & the Parmesan on top was a waste, as it was very hard, bitter and just didn't belong! * PICTURE #6 - BBQ Chicken+Ham Panini (w/incl.salad) = $12.00 2 / 5-Stars This was NOT well received, the bread was too hard, the Ham was sliced so thin "you could barely find it", and it didn't have any taste. Even the BBQ sauce, which should have added a flavor punch, was thin and tasted like ketchup. Lastly, the salad croutons were old/stale. I was psyched to try Isabella's Pizzeria for the 1st time, because their menu seemed like it had a lot of foods I could try out. Being a Pescatarians it can be a challenge to find Italian entrees. I was disappointed the Shrimp Pesto Pizza wasn't available. Overall, Isabella's food quality seemed "HIT OR MISS", and the issues seemed to be related to lack of attention+care, and with the exception of the sandwich/paninis simply lack of FLAVOR!! Just look at the difference between the Margherita Pizza shown and what was received, I mean really? NO BASIL?! that's just a Cheese Pizza!‍ The Sandwich/Paninis - They both seemed to lack any real or distinct flavor, period. If You want some hard Panini Bread with a LOT of Melted Mozzarella Cheese then Go For it!, Because that is all You're going to taste (I think regardless of the sandwich You order.) For the price points of the Sandwiches/Paninis having No Flavor is just unacceptable! Also, the difference between my Eggplant sandwich and the BBQ Chicken Panini was basically non-existent other than type/name, yet the Panini came with a small bunch of salad (and at $3.00 more!!). I don't think that Isabella's Pizzeria will be getting my business again in the future. I'd rather order from Joe's Italian Resturante (at least they have awesome garlic bread!) or even Pizza Hut or Domino's! I want to point out that DoorDash handled the order issue quickly & efficiently by contacting me immediately by phone. The Rep informed me of the issue & asked if I wished to cancel the order. However, I requested a simple substitute item at the same cost. I was put on hold & They contacted+confirmed the change with the Restaurant. *** TIPS: 1) Screen Shot EACH Menu Item You Order - in case You have an issue later, and the Restaurant already removed it from their menu options. 2) Have an Idea of a 2nd Choice Item at the same Price, If Your 1st Item is not available, so You aren't put on the spot and left Rushing to find something else to pick. Good Luck! & Bon Appetite! UPDATE: To DoorDash's Credit, I contacted them & complained about the Margherita Pizza (was just a cheese pizza)+Sandwiches (No Flavor), and received a partial refund. I don't typically complain to DD as it isn't their fault, but the restaurant is their vendor, and this time I was upset about that pizza+the quality, so I put in the effort this time, just Fyi & I Love Door Dash, as I have mobility issues so I can't just run out & pick up my own food. *smiles*

Quick and easy stop for lunch. Crust and most sandwiches are homemade so they do take a little longer to come out but overall the food is prepared well, taste good and will satisfy. The red sauce on the pizza is more of an American style which is a little lighter on seasoning and overall flavor but they do have other sauces than red if you want a little more. My favorite sandwich is the Grilled Chicken Pesto... The chicken is perfectly cut and seasoned, the pesto mayo adds a deep creamyness, the peppers and onions deliver a nice richness that makes the sandwich.

They smell was really good approaching the restaurant and hardly anyone was in the place at lunch time which should have been a sign. My husband was on a quick break from work so we got take out which seemed to annoy the waitress. We are from another state so we had no clue where to go that would be good and quick. I ordered a portobello panini and my hubby got the philly steak wrap. I cannot speak for how his was but mine was not good. The mushroom was so tough that when I bit into it, it would not separate and I couldn't eat it. I had to take the mushroom cap completely off and eat the bread and mayo alone. The panini was supposed to have roasted red peppers and carmelized onions on it but when I opened it, there was one sliver of onion on one half and none on the other and 3 pieces of red pepper on one half...the other half had a portion of the onion from the other half and not one pepper. Complete disappointment. Especially when you are without knowledge of an area and assume a pizza place will be awesome. I would not recommend but we also did not have any pizza which may be better than sandwiches.

Cucina Pasta and Mozzarella sticks

Ordered from Waitr. Waitr service was great. Food received well. Cooked well. The only thing is the cucina pasta wasn't the best. Too "zesty" for me and kinda over salty... just my opinion. And they don't give enough Marinara sauce with the sticks. I ran out of sauce on the third stick. It's kind of a chunky sauce. But overall it was all made well. Maybe I'll try something else next time.

This is my first time ordering, and my last. I'm from out of town and chose to order from my hotel room, lady told me 30-45 min, my food was over an hour late, I called and the lady said he should be there any min, so a few min later my food gets here. so I ordered the chicken Florentine pasta and a mozzarella caprese salad. Last time I had chicken Florentine (from somewhere else) it was creamy so i asked for extra sauce. I got something I could not eat, it was not creamy, it was OILY.....with olives all over the place, guess I should have asked first what was in it, that could be my fault, but I paid 28$ for my order and couldn't eat it...so sad....there was oil all over the mozzarella and all over the pasta....never again

Order two pizzas to go. One a kid's cheese pizza. The second an extra large supreme. Both are way under cooked with the crust still being dough. The topping to the extra large pizza are sliding off , which i would blame the delivery guy for. Neither pizza being cut as well.

Ask about the specials, and prepare yourself to be impressed. The kitchen staff obviously take pride in the work they do to produce such unique renditions of traditional favorites while still respecting the dish's origins. Awesome creativity going on in the back, for sure! Great food, great drinks, great service, wonderful place. If you haven't been, go see what you've been missing. Favorite appetizer: Bille's Bacon. Available with fried or grilled shrimp, or fried oysters on top of a THICK slab of bacon. Seafood rests on generous amounts of Gorgonzola cheese, and the Calabrian chili honey glaze drizzle just puts the kiss on top. KILLER grub! I had the grilled shrimp. Gulf shrimp, of course.

Pretty dope Italian spot in Hammond! OpenTable brought me and fellow teammates here for a couple…read moreteam dinners. Located in the downtown area of Hammond, this may be my favorite restaurant in the area and for good reason! The interior has the right amount of lighting to give an intimate feel and there's plenty of indoor seating where tables can be pushed together for large parties. The bar area is also comfy if you're looking to pop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail. Speaking of which, there's plenty of wine by the glass and featured bottle wines. It doesn't have as expansive of a bottle wine menu like other Italian spots but they don't need to as they offer about a dozen wines each from the USA and from the Italy/Spain/Argentina regions. So you'll find whatever you need to suit your tastes. And then there's cocktails. All the classics (Cosmopolitan, Manhattan, Old Fashioned) are here with some Italian favorites like the Negroni. The popular ones amongst us were the Limoncello Spritz (think of a vodka sparkling lemonade), the Espresso Martini, and the Basil Cucumber Gimlet. Tasty and pretty presentations! As for eats, the shareables that are must-orders are the Italian Meatballs (served in polenta w/ spicy tomato sauce), the Calamari, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Caprese Salad. These always made the table whenever we were here; the meatballs and brussels sprouts being the ones people couldn't stop eating. The turtle soup is also a good first course if you're going light. It was my first time having turtle soup and I enjoyed the heck out of it! For pastas/entrees, it depends how heavy you want to go. The pastas that we loved were the Fusilli and Casarecce. The Fusilli has a cajun spicy tomato base w/ shrimp, italian sausage, basil, and mushrooms; an excellent combination of ingredients for a delicious pasta dish. The Casarecce is more simple using a parmeson garlic cream sauce and a pan-fried breaded chicken breast on top. For entrees, the pork osso buco, duck breast, and diver scallops were all wonderful. The osso buco especially being super tender was a crowd-pleaser. They also have a filet mignon special w/ a fried potato cake and asparagus garnish finished in a red-wine demi glaze; this special was ordered by several people each time and had all of us oohhh'ing and ahhh'ing every time it was delivered. The filet is super tender and the potato cake is a great complimentary side to it. For dessert, we usually share the house cheesecake which has chocolate chips and caramel with a cookie crust; a perfect way to finish off the meal. That's if we save room for dessert! This spot is a must-visit and a place we plan to frequent whenever we're in Hammond. They also have a lot of gluten-free options in case you have a gluten intolerance. Do yourself a favor and check this spot out; you won't regret it!

We eat out fairly often, so we encounter a lot of different waitstaff, and it's rare for someone to stand out the way he did. Will has mastered the very fine line between being attentive and being intrusive. He seemed to appear at the table at exactly the right moment every single time--never hovering, but never leaving us needing anything either. In fact, my teenage daughter even commented that he always came by at the exact right time. We wanted for absolutely nothing. He anticipated our needs before we had to ask, kept the meal flowing perfectly, and made the entire experience feel smooth and relaxed. This was especially impressive considering it was a busy Sunday lunch rush. Great service like that makes a big difference in the dining experience, and Will truly made ours exceptional.
