I have been receiving at home care from Comfort Keepers for a couple of months, and I could not be happier with my situation. The ladies who have come to my home have been very empathetic, efficient, and professional. They have been more than happy to take care of all manner of tasks, ranging from taking me to doctor appointments, accompanying me to the grocery store, along with meal prep, watering plants, taking care of laundry, and light housekeeing. I have even had even had help with putting up holiday decorations and adding plants to my container garden. It has been a great relief to focus on healing and not have to worry about my living space becoming cluttered or messy since I started caregiving services. The ladies who work with me are also very kind and supportive as I deal with my situation, which has been a big help in keeping me positive through tough moments. I look forward every day to seeing the caregivers assigned to my case and truly enjoy their company as well as deeply appreciating their help. I cannot recommend this group enough! read more

EDIT: I heard from the company and they indicated that there was an ownership transition the week I contracted the services and they felt this caused the billing disruption and the disconnect between between the old owners cased the out of the blue escalation. Sounds like the new owner has things under control and I am grateful they reached out to explain and clear things up. OLD REVIEW: An up and down experience. I got pointed to them by my doctor to arrange a ride. The set up process was smooth. Pick up on time. Wonderful person they assigned to drive me home. At that point I was a raving fan of this organization. That was February. Yesterday, they finally invoiced me. I had received nothing from them until this message. Their first invoice was a demand saying if i didn't pay immediately, the cost would be 150% of what I was committed. The labeled the first invoice as the "final notice". Phone calls on this issue went to voice mail and answering services and were not returned at all. Seems to be a business with great execution but some questionable business practices. Wondering if its a plan to wait until things are way old to send a bill so they can slip in fees?? They service and operations people are good so I would use them again. But I would demand they let me pay by check at the time of service and that they give me a receipt. read more

Kishwar has been helping my sister Pat and she is doing a great job. She helps my sister with her grocery shopping and even puts it away for her. Kishwar also helps with household chores and prepares meals for my sister. Pat says Kishwar is a pleasure to be with. read more

I woulda like to say that I am very happy with the with Comfort Keeper office staff. They are constantly in touch with me concerning the care for my 92 year old Father. Any issue that comes up they are prompt in dealing with the issue. They always respond when I need them. Very curteous and caring. I would also like to give high praise for my Fathers care giver Grace. She is a very kind and loving person. She is very hard working in that she cleans bath rooms, vacums, does kitchen floors., cooks, makes shopping lists, reminds my Father to take medications, takes him on walks, checks his mail, is all ways on time and stays until her time is done. She has a wonderful disposition and she pays close attention to him and his needs. She also touches base with me periodically which I appreciate. My experience with the staff at Comfort Keeper has been terrible. I had been using their service to eat my father-in-law and no one would not notify me if a caregiver was not going to show up. There is a lack of ability to communicate. This happen several times. I almost lost my job because of the lack of communication from the Comfort Keeper staff. I want to tell you about a kind caring girl. Maria is her name and you takes excellent care of my husband. They get along so well and have interesting conversations. They work on jigsaw puzzles and go for walks. He looks forward to seeing her and I look forward to taking a break from being my husband's caregiver as he has dementia. We are a VERY tough customer. Our requirements are tough. Customer ( wife) is semi-aphasia and was ultra bright and now is difficult. Our family had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with Comfort Keepers - San Jose/Cupertino. At our initial meeting, the Care Coordinator assured us that Comfort Keepers has a large pool of qualified available caregivers, however despite our urgent need, they were unable to provide any caregiver until two weeks later. This caregiver, it turned out, was a new hire who after three days -- and on very short notice -- was cancelled by the agency in order to 'attend a required corporate training.' A subsequent caregiver was pleasant, but clearly untrained in the basics of patient care and safety. Besides failing to deliver on their promise/commitment to provide consistent appropriately trained reliable caregivers for a patient requiring in home assistance with activities of daily living, all invoices contained billing errors (billed higher than the agreed upon hourly rate, billed extra hours, did not implement automatic payments with information provided to them...) which each time took multiple phone calls and emails to get corrected. The office personnel were unresponsive, defensive and unprofessional in their handling of caregiver and billing issues. I would NOT recommend Comfort Keepers (San Jose/Cupertino) to anyone who is looking for greater ease -- rather than stress -- in managing the care of a loved one. read more

Comfort Keepers helped my family through a crisis when my sister, who takes care of my 93 year old Mom, was taken to the hospital. I wasn't close by and wasn't sure what to do and literally started making calls for caregivers off the internet. I was amazed and delighted in finding Comfort Keepers. The whole staff was marvelous. They responded immediately to my emergency situation and made it all okay. My Mom (who hates strangers in her house) loved the ladies that came and actually looked forward to their visits. My wisdom teeth sugery required sedation, and i was able to book an appointment with Comfort Keeper very quickly. Nicole came pick me up on time and drove me off. Comfort Keepers has been taking care of my mom for about 6 months. They are there most of the day. My mom wants to be as independent as possible, so it's been a little challenging to find care givers that are comfortable with being available when needed or who learn to anticipate the needs of my mom. My mom needed to get used to having someone around and that took a little time. We now have a good rhythm going at her house. She is most happy about being in her own home. We would not like to have moved her out of her home. Her care givers help when she needs it and let her do the things she still can do for herself. The company is great to work with. We have not had a problem since day one. Definitely recommend them for anyone's mom or dad or whatever. read more

It appears the previous sucesses are no longer available with the "new" team. The contact person surprised my wife and me by bring their coordinator to our 1st meeting, They walked into the house before I arrived and proceeded to pick my poor wife recovering from a stroke. UNPROFESSIONAL The BD person then began a long presentation of all their services highlighted by how many of their Caregivers only had 1 to 2 years experience. She seemed to not remember all we discussed on the phone and had me go over our needs taking down a we ordered here and there. We agreed that i would review the material & be in touch. Instead she called back with a "qualified candidate ". She knew nothing about her. put us on hold to get the file. & described someone with 1 year exp. Very poor communication AND listening skills! I asked for a caregiver for Wednesday for 4 hours and Friday for 5 hours. They could not provide me with one both days. This has happened before. I don't understand what the problem is. In mid-January 2013 my mother was diagnosed with ALS. This required our family to get immediate assistance for her. I was referred to Comfort Keepers by my mother's doctor. From the first call we made to Comfort Keepers it was clear this was who we wanted to work with. Linda in the office was able to answer every question and concern we had. We then met with Alena (owner) at my mother's house to further understand how the service worked and immediately signed up for a 4 hour/day service. It wasn't long before we had to change to 24 hour/7 day a week service. The transition was handled the same day we requested the change. The new person that came to the house was not a good fit for my mother and we requested a change - which happened immediately. Marcella, who trains the staff, came to help the workers throughout the time we needed assistance. She and my mother immediately became friends. Marcella seemed to take a personal interest in my mother - which endeared her to the entire family. Her care seemed to transcend that of a caregivers job. She came to see my mother on her birthday (with Alena as well) as well as the early morning after when my mother passed away. There was no need for her to be there - but she was anyway - no doubt because of that personal relationship that had so quickly evolved. There were two on-site caretakers that must be mentioned: Hanan and Honey. Both of these ladies were absolutely invaluable to my mother and to the family. Again, these wonderful people came to know and care for my mother as though they had been friends for years. I cannot thank them enough for the remarkable service they provided my mother. Honey was so dedicated that she barely left my mother's side for the 2 weeks preceding her death. I cannot recommend this company high enough. Our time with Comfort Keepers will always be a fond memory to me. I will anxiously share their name with anyone looking for a caregiving service that goes well beyond ones expectations. read more

The COMFORT KEEPERS office in Cupertino is horrible to say the least! I am a caregiver myself and just needed some week-end help for my 89 year old client. He has minimal needs such as a catheter bag switched from night to day bag and his daily meds, a few small meals and assist in restroom. I found Comfort Keepers and set up an interview to get this help. The owner (Alina), came to the house and said they would gladly take him as a client. She assured me that her staff members were picked very carefully and that they were well trained to do whatever my client needed done. So we hired them. We are now 7 months in and still the owner is sending people who have little to no training and many who hardly speak English. There have been quite a few times they were late and luckily I was here to make sure he was not left alone. Many of these people that Comfort Keepers sends are here for 8 hours doing hardly anything but texting and sitting on their butts. What little they do accomplish is less than adequate. I must have had 20 different people here now and maybe 3 were really good. Of course the few who were good are not available. The owner also sends "Trainers' (and I use the word loosely) with each new caregiver, and they themselves have no idea what they are doing. I have yet to have a real week- end off as I am constantly having to be here or close by to watch over them and re-train them after the "trainer" leaves. I am a more than patient person but am very frustrated at this point! I am also furious that this company charges such high prices to the elderly for such horrible inadequate care. Many of our elderly are only trying to remain in the comfort of their own homes and want to be treated with dignity and respect! Many are on fixed incomes and they count on these companies to be honest and reliable. My patience is gone as you can imagine and I am currently looking for a new company.
