The hospital process was extremely slow, and Natalie ended up waiting for more than 45 minutes. But she never complained or showed any frustration. She continued to be so warm, patient, cheerful, and compassionate. What touched my heart the most was what my dad said afterward. He told me, "This lady is so nice! How do you know her? Is she your friend?" That says everything. Natalie treated my dad not like a new client, but like an old friend she had known for years. Her kindness was genuine, and I could feel that she truly cared about my dad--not just as a passenger, but as a person. The overall experience was very smooth--from meeting the care coordinator Natalie and signing the forms to making final arrangements by text. Everyone here was warm and helpful. A special shoutout to my caregiver, Candy, who was lively and fun. After I got home, I slept for a couple of hours, and when I woke up we chatted--the conversation helped me stay alert and shake off the grogginess from the anesthesia. Being Chinese, Candy understood my needs at home, and that cultural awareness was especially comforting while recovering on my own. Hopefully I won't need surgery again--but if I do, I'll be calling California Seniors Care!

I had care workers who didn't seem competent, along with poor communication. I switched to working only with Polaris and I've had a very good experience. I've been working with Joseph, and from the beginning he has been fantastic. We've had easy, clear, regular communication, and flexibility, kindness and professionalism. The care workers they've sent out have been professional, kind and competent. These are stressful situations, and it would be much worse without the help and support of Joseph and his team. I am impressed with their service and care, and I am grateful.

The PT and OT staff were friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. I was so happy to have help learning how to care for my sister. The staff was on-time and took great care to be safe during the pandemic. A few years back, we called on the hospice services to assist with my terminally ill sister. With the help of a compassionate and professional team, we were able to fulfill my sister's wish and keep her at home. The nurses, social workers and volunteers provided the support needed to help us understand how to keep her safe and comfortable through the end of her life. We are eternally grateful for the guidance and support during that stressful time in our lives. The hospice experience touched me deeply. So much so, that I decided to become a Pathways volunteer. As a hospice volunteer I provide respite for the family care givers and companionship for those in need. I am also a part of the Vigil Team, a group of volunteers that take turns sitting with a patient when death is eminent. We sit with the interest that no one should be alone during the end of life if they do not wish to be. I have a therapy dog, who upon request, will join me on a visit and provide snuggles and unconditional love. Pathways Home Health Care and Hospice is a wonderful organization. I highly recommend Pathways as a service and a place to be in service.

Not only do I not trust hospice period, regardless of program it's…read morefrom, but this review is merely going to be talking about my personal experience with them via their "grief support" counseling! They will kick you out mid-care if you also have mental health issues and recieve GENERAL therapy for mental health, which is also a form of discrimination! I was receiving virtual grief counseling weekly through them, and not only what I said above, but also their therapist I had, Katherine, was lying to the supervisor about me not ever talking about my grief to her, when in actuality, I have been, but she also has been asking me to explain details to her about my other stressors too, which lead to my instincts to be honest with her. However, that has lead her to shift to only listen to those moments rather than my grief moments, hence the belief of hers that "I was never talking about grief" in our sessions, so I had stopped telling her my other details entirely with "I'm not going to explain more details about that because then you're going to say it's not grief" before she asked from then on. Still despite that though, the last session was an uncalled for the last session, with using the adamant excuse that she was ending my care because "I had other problems distracting me from grief"(literally still sticking to the story that I was not talking about my grief). I then just spoke to her "supervisor", Tom May, who, rather than make Katherine take accountability, instead revealed the real reason; he had Katherine kick me out mid-care, and according to what he said, other people too, because "we're no longer servicing those who have a counselor already"(his words). I asked him why specifically because I told him before that I have a general therapist who helps with my general mental health, but she doesn't specialize in grief therapy, hence why she referred me to them. He then said "we're short staffed and we have others who really need our care on our waiting list" and mentioned that it was the management's decision. Since that told me that he was saying in other words that those people's grief mattered more than mine and/or the others he kicked out(since he admitted he was kicking us out to cater to them on the waiting list, rather than just focusing on hiring more people if they were really short staffed), I then asked to speak to such management, Tom refused and kept saying "I'm sorry, I can't fix that", which I believe is utter BS because if they were able to suddenly make that change in the middle of our sessions, then the right thing can be done and have it be reversed back, but he refused with the "I can't" BS! Moral is, if you have mental health issues on top of your grief that you also receiving support for, do NOT pick this place! They will either deny you on the spot(I've had a lot of losses within 5 years, and have been unable to receive AN OUNCE of grief support within those years because all the places I've reached out to prior to Pathways have all said no simply because of my mental health history) OR they will kick you out mid-care, leaving you in limbo with unfinished grief treatment with the excuses mentioned above! They do not care about clients at all, especially ones that have mental health issues on top of grief, like most other grief places! It seriously is difficult for a mentally ill person to find support for grief for crying out loud!!

I was in panic mode, desperately looking for someone to help care for my parents. My father has been overwhelmed trying to care for my mother, who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. From the moment Tina answered, she put me at ease. She reassured me that my concerns were common and that my frustrations were completely understandable. She patiently listened as I vented and asked countless questions. I was truly impressed by her compassion, calm demeanor, and willingness to help in any way she could. Although their services were a bit outside of our budget, Tina went above and beyond by suggesting other resources and even providing contact information along with questions to ask so I could find the right fit for my family. I hung up feeling far more confident and supported than when I first called. Visiting Angels is lucky to have such a caring and empathetic person representing their team. Tina is truly a gem, and I'm grateful for the kindness and guidance she offered during a very stressful time.

We ultimately received an email from another Visiting Angels representative but never heard back from Mr. Wheaton. After having used their services for more than 5 years, we expected and deserved better communication. It was an extremely disappointing end to our experience with them. UPDATE following Tani's reply: the review has nothing to do with taking "some time to get answers" or not getting "the answer" we had "hoped for." The negative review is because of the executive director's failure to communicate.

A therapist named Bogdon was assigned to continue the therapy. Bogdon came twice a week, and I noticed he was only staying in our house for 30 minutes maximum. (The ortho surgeon had said the sessions would run 45-60 minutes) During that 30 minutes, Bogdon also spent time taking vitals and checking in with Bill, my husband. On the third week, Bill asked this man about the shortened sessions. The man replied: 1. "I have to get in 8 sessions per day to make the living I need to make." 2. "I've scheduled my sessions on the hour, so I have to leave early enough in order to get to my next session in town." 3. "Most of the senior patients I work with cannot handle more than 30 minute sessions." 4. "If you do not like the way I am doing it, find another therapist at a different company." In addition, there were times that my husband would look out the front window at the time Bogdon was supposed to be starting (on the hour!), and would see him in his car, just sitting there. It looked like he was looking down at his phone. Then he would come in the house, late. After my husband brought up with Bogdon the issue of the shorter sessions, the next week, a NEW therapist suddenly showed up to work with him! Unfortunately, that therapist only was able to see him for ONE session that week. However, he came for the full hour of time. My husband started with a new physical therapist (and company) this past week, and said it was like a "night and day" difference! The therapist was dedicated, caring, on time, and effective. My husband wished he had not WASTED the first four weeks of his recovery with Sequoia and Bogdon.

But the team at Sequoia Home Health and Hospice stepped in immediately--without hesitation--and guided us through every moment with compassion, clarity, and genuine care. I want to give my deepest thanks to Susan Jacinto, who became my tower of strength during one of the hardest times of my life. Her steady presence and her patience in explaining every detail helped me breathe when everything felt impossible. Together with Elma Basalote, the two of them made my dad's transition into hospice unbelievably seamless. Within less than 24 hours, everything we needed was in place. The team helped me communicate with the doctor to arrange a temporary admission for my dad while equipment and supplies were being ordered. They coordinated his transport from the hospital to our home, set up all the medical equipment, and ensured we received every supply, medication, and piece of training needed to care for him properly. They scheduled nurses, CNAs, pharmacy support, and activity staff--managing every moving part so we never felt alone. What made Sequoia truly stand out, though, is that their care didn't end when my dad passed away. Susan continued to stand by my side even after my father's death, checking in on me, guiding me through what needed to happen next, and making sure the Sequoia team remained present during the transition. Their compassion went far beyond medical support--they gave emotional support at a time when I needed it most. Even now, Sequoia still checks in with us, asking how we're doing and what services they can offer to help us through the grief and healing process. Hubby & I moved his 94 year old mom up a little while ago and we've been very happy so far. We've…read morefound the staff helpful and caring. The place is very clean and large and reasonably quiet. We've learned a few things about skilled nursing facilities. Those near hospitals tend to be bedlam since there's a lot of short term patients who walk the halls. It's difficult to get a long term bed in a place like this. We tried to go to the three places that are within half a mile of our house but we're also close to two hospitals, so it was no go. Sunny View is connected with a memory care and an independent (and assisted) living facility. So it's much easier to get a long term bed, and the place truly is calmer and quieter. The food is better. The staff can provide more attention. The grounds are lovely. There's a very nice central patio area with lots of shade where people can hang out. I'm hoping we can convince his mom to do PT/OT so we can get her outside a bit. Like most people over a certain age, she's depressed that her body doesn't do what she wants it to, and we can only tell her that PT and OT will help with that. But she's content and we're glad she was able to get a bed near a window with a good view.
