Little did we know what a powerhouse CK would be. In his early 70's and small of stature, it was a delight to see how strong of heart and body he was. His kindness and respect towards my father never faltered. He often did night care and never did he complain of being tired or the hours or the duties. He was loyal to the very end even when it took almost 4 years for my dad to pass when originally we all thought it would be a year. He never called out sick and probably took one or two short vacations in all that time. He was steadfast and competent and gave my father the dignity he deserved. Through our workplace benefit program, Bright Horizon, we were connected with their team and ended up using all of our allocated days because the support was exceptional. While there were natural hiccups and challenges in finding the right caregiver match, Alice's involvement made all the difference. She was consistently available, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure our mother received the care she deserved. Stan was equally supportive, professional, reassuring, and always willing to help. During the time our mother was receiving care, our father unexpectedly had to be admitted to the ICU for three nights.
