Under the care of Dr. Morris, my neck pain improved tremendously. I was assigned daily homework and supplements to help with healing along with nutrition advice. He is personable and cares about his patients. He is also very attentive and listens to all my questions. He even teaches me about why something may be occurring and shows me skeletal models while doing so. Everyone in the office is nice, courteous and professional. I change into a hospital gown for each visit. There are pre and post scans of the spine to ensure all is well. The technique is very gentle, but very effective in relieving pain. I also had cold laser therapy to speed up the healing process. There is plenty of parking in the back and the office is clean. They also have a water dispenser in the waiting area.

Anthem/Blue Cross deemed that my patient responsibility was only .63 cents, so the insurance company sent a payment to Allied in the amount of $3,793.67 in December 2024 and now Allied's patient services/billing department refuses to refund my credit card for this amount. Not only did Allied keep my money, but they are also pocketing money from Anthem, which has been deemed fraudulent by Anthem and they are now engaging in an investigation into Allied. Save yourself the emotional turmoil and run arounds, and just go elsewhere. Hard lesson learned on my part. EDIT: Anthem/Blue Cross' Grievances Department just mailed the attached letter on January 10, 2025 stating that I am due a refund of $3,793.67 and my financial responsibility is $.63 cents. The continued denial by Allied that "no monies" are owed to me is baffling. This company will indeed engage in fraudulent activity.

A MERRY CHRISTMAS REVIEW!…read more Even though I'm still in the middle of my treatment and awaiting further surgery, I just wanted to stop by and give some much deserved love to Dr. Patrick Polsunas and the staff at Allied Pain & Spine in Los Gatos. Prior to my vehicle being struck by a red light runner at high speed, I was never really sick very much, and didn't have any illnesses or major injuries. Most of my life living as an athlete and personal trainer, I had no real need to see a doctor except for the regular annual check-up. But now for the first time finding my self as a partially crippled person, it's been depressing at times. So, to have a rare and wonderful doctor like Dr. Polsunas who not only goes above and beyond for his patients, but is actually extremely caring and does whatever he can to fight along side you, so that you can achieve the maximum healing that you deserve, it's a blessing. He is truly one of a kind, and I wish that he was my general doctor. Santa needs to give him a raise!

The personal care by the therapist, Todd R, helped me overcome my neck and, thereafter, my knee pain, in a time-bound manner. OPTM concentrates on one issue, resolves it, and then takes up the next. I took specific sessions for the neck and then for the knee. I could get both issues resolved. At OPTM, patient progress is reviewed and recorded on every visit and compared to the problem assessment done during the first visit. A periodic review is conducted by another therapist to ensure unbiased feedback. The system at OPTM Saratoga is simple, friendly, and focused. Entire credit for this clockwise precision goes to the Clinic Director, Benjamin Turner. It is his leadership which has been instrumental in ensuring professionalism at every step. I found all at OPTM are kind, courteous, and respectful. Ms Emerald is at the reception, and she, along with the other staff, ensures that patient scheduling and check-ins are to the satisfaction of each patient. It is challenging at times, but she does it with a smile. Cleanliness, hygiene, and seemingly negligible matters are taken care of for every patient. All in all, I am totally satisfied, and now my wife is getting her treatment here.

I had struggled with knee pain for over five years without proper treatment due to the pandemic and insurance issues, so I was very encouraged by the progress I made under her care. After about three months, I was able to return to light running and felt better than I had in years. Unfortunately, midway through my recovery, I developed Achilles pain--a normal setback as Shea explained. She adjusted my program, and with another three months of treatment I felt strong again, with both my knee and Achilles finally improving. However, just before Shea's maternity leave, her intern increased the intensity of my exercises with a combination of Bulgarian split squats, Nordics, Copenhagen planks, and plyometric jumps. This pushed me far beyond what my knee could tolerate, resulting in a painful setback and significant swelling--essentially undoing months of progress. While I was devastated, I didn't blame Shea or the intern, as I knew the intention was to help. I still believed in the program and wanted to continue treatment. When Shea left, she referred me to Ben. In our first session, he identified posture issues and asymmetries in my range of motion, giving me two exercises that initially seemed to help. However, when I returned three weeks later, the tone of treatment completely changed. After I explained that a short session on the elliptical triggered a flare-up, Ben dismissed my concerns, saying, "Even an old woman can do 10 minutes on the elliptical," and suggested I see a doctor instead. I explained that doctors had found nothing structurally wrong with my knee and that physical therapy had been the only effective treatment. He then told me that there is nothing wrong with me contrary to his initial assessment and that he treats "sick people" and I'm healthy and he therefore will discharge me. I left that session shocked, in pain, and extremely disappointed. Not only did I feel dismissed, but I also felt there was a complete lack of compassion or professionalism. Despite always showing respect and gratitude for my therapists, I was met with arrogance and indifference at a time when I was still struggling and seeking help. While I am grateful for Shea's excellent care and the progress I made with her, my experience with Ben was profoundly discouraging and left me questioning the quality and consistency of treatment at OPTM Saratoga.

After being forced to sign in a relative into this "hospice" one of their nurses told me the truth and said they are "still learning about how to treat patients" with respiratory distress. She was not kidding. This hospice was useless, incompetent and was very sadistic to my relative (the patient had never smoked in their life, was stable until the last 1 year of their life when they went on constant supplemental oxygen ) My relative died a horrible death , and suffered severely for the last 3 hours of their life , literally suffocating with this "hospice " care in el camino hospital. One of the hospice student nurses decided to reduce the oxygen flow for the relative, who was kept comfortable with the original level. It was the hospice doctors bad decision to lower the oxygen flow and then give morphine/valium/etc. After that, for over 3 hours, the patient suffocated and suffered great discomfort to death. They were literally Suffocating, And the breath sounds were not the usual end of life death rattle and not cheyne stokes breathing. (patient went into the hospice after getting stabilized by the ER department, then transferred to 3rd floor TCU. The hospitalists wanted the hospital room for someone else - it's a business, after all. So we were pressured into signing up our relative into this horrific hospice. El camino hospital hospitalists and Sutter /hospice of the valley knew we were in a vulnerable situation. ) In the last 3 hours of their life, my relative suffered with loud labored breathing, with a look of terror on their face. Never in the course of their illness did they have so much suffering, until the incompetent hospice of the valley nurses and doctors (in training) did their mischief with the patient. The relative had a pained desperate expression , looked like they were drowning, and we family members only stood by helplessly and kept begging the nurses for pain medication for the patient, which they did eventually. Maybe they were waiting for the approval of the hospice doctor. Family members foolishly trusted this hospice to help make the dying process a little easier. I'm very surprised the hospice nurses and doctors don't know much about treating /comforting patients with end stage lung cancer , COPD, emphysema, interstitial lung diseases etc. Because all of those usually, not always, end with respiratory distress for the patient. Kevorkian would have been more effective and sympathetic. The clergy man was the only competent and compassionate person we encountered. Maybe this hospice is only for dementia patients. Unfortunately, I've sadly seen two other relatives die in 2 different hospices (not "hospice" of the valley, and they suffered too , but the nurses and doctors were a little more knowledgeable and helpful. hospice of the valley is the worst. I understand the need for hospice, but do your research on which hospices are best for you or your loved one's condition/disease/illness. Veterinarians are more knowledgeable and compassionate to animals that need euthanasia. Even convicts on death row have quicker less unpleasant deaths , compared to what my relative experienced with this novice hospice.
