Following corrective foot surgery I decided to try a home care agency that offered special post-operative care. I didn't anticipate needing anything long term, and this company offered a 72-hour package that seemed perfect for my situation. Services I needed included applying ice for 20 mins every hour I was awake, helping me get around while I got used to crutches even in the middle of the night, which meant spotting me to make sure I didn't fall, heating up and bringing me food, as I was supposed to lie in bed with my foot elevated for the first week post surgery, and taking care of many other things I needed. I did not need any actual nursing services--only home care. After the initial 72-hour period, I felt I wanted a little more assistance so I signed up for a couple of 9-hour shifts, and that was all I ultimately needed. They were very flexible in providing this assistance, as I was unsure how much time I would need in order to take care of myself safely, and they still managed to schedule great people for me. Everyone I interacted with at the agency was professional and accommodating. The caregivers (there were several for 24/7 coverage) were caring and delightful. The house and kitchen were kept clean and tidy. As such, I highly recommend working with this agency should you find yourself needing this type of care. read more

My 97 year-old grandmother had a bad experience with this company. So bad, it's taken me since March 2019 to write this review. All memories of this business were highly frustrating and extremely upsetting. The girl who was assigned to take care of my grandmother was young (25), inexperienced and hostile. She often arrived late, angry, and would leave early. My grandmother is legally blind. The girl would lie about the time and leave when she felt like it. I know this as my grandmother's neighbors look out for her and would call me daily. I expressed my concerns to both Amrita and Vincent. Vincent was very rude over the phone to both me and my mother on separate occasions. Amrita violated my personal information by forwarding a confidential email without my consent or knowledge. Multiple members of my family asked for this girl to be removed and replaced with someone more appropriate to help my grandmother. Care Indeed refused. Instead, they promised to "train her better". Over the course of 10 weeks, this girl spoiled my grandmother's first experience with hired in-home care. Here's a list of some of the things she did: - Girl was late and left early. - Girl was a no call, no show. - Girl was hired to help clean the house. After visiting my grandmother we found feces all over the bathroom. Kitchen a complete mess with moldy dishes and food everywhere. - Girl ruined a $3000 piece of Dutch modern furniture by using bleach on it after we specifically told her not to. - Girl stole my grandmother's credit card after taking her to the grocery store. She racked up over $800 worth of charges including $500 to PGE and $300 to Nike. I called and complained to Care Indeed. My mother called and complained to Care Indeed. My uncle called and complained to Care Indeed. It wasn't until my grandmother's credit card was stolen that Care Indeed said they'd fire her. Situation never should have gotten this out of control. Sadly, there are more elderly people in the Bay Area than there is help for them. Businesses such as this know they have a Monopoly on the old and weak, and those who cannot care for themselves. We asked for this girl to be replaced many times. I believe girl was never replaced because Care Indeed doesn't have enough workers to fill their clientele. My grandmother, who drove until she was 93, is a highly functioning senior. A woman with many of her cognitive functions still intact. My grandmother had every capability of staying in her home. My grandmother was so traumatized by this experience she moved into a Senior Living Facility and is very unhappy to have left her home. read more

I know this because I have been with other agencies before and non are like careindeed. Our family had very bad experiences with the other agencies we used in the past which was upsetting. Care Indeed has been supporting my 94 year old mother for the last five years showing compassion, providing excellent care and tremendous flexibility as her needs changed. We started with a part time aide who would help get my mother up in the morning, put her to bed and drive her to my house for dinner. Her needs have grown to 24 x 7 assistance, and Care Indeed has been with us every step of the way, shifting gears on a dime to provide nighttime caregivers with little advance notice. My wife is 75 years old and recently underwent a total Knee replacement surgery on her left knee. We were trying to hire a person to provide in-house help for a few days post-surgery. A very close friend of mine who is 91 years old and lives alone has been bedridden for about a year, and Care Indeed has provided round the clock care for her during that time. The service has been excellent. Each caregiver is required to keep a log of everything that happened during her shift, and the log is available for family members to read. The agency tries hard to find caregivers who will be a good match for the patient, and if anyone turns out not to be a good match, they are quickly replaced. This is largely due to the efforts of Vanessa, who is the cofounder of the agency, a registered nurse, and case manager for my friend who personally visits her twice a week to make sure everything is going well. Vanessa always arrives full of energy and makes my friend feel that she really cares about her, which is great for her psyche and probably her physical health as well. The only reason I give Care Indeed two stars is because the Care Givers are have currently, Humberto and Sandy, are excellent. However, it took a while to get to these top notch care givers. Working with Care Indeed from an administrative stand point is a nightmare. They do not submit invoices in a timely manner, they forget to include care notes, they do not respond to emails or phone calls in a timely manner. Once, when I had not received the reimbursements from a couple of months, Care Indeed told me it was because their admin person was out on leave. I asked them if they had someone to replace her while she was gone - the answer was no. In addition, outside of Humberto and Sandy, replacement care givers can be a nightmare. I had a substitute care giver who did not know what to do when my father fell out of bed. She went to my parent's neighbor to ask for help and they dragged my dad by his feet through the house to another room to try and get him propped up. Eventually they called an EMT for assistance. read more

My 98 year old Mother has been a widow for about 4 years now, after enjoying over 66 years of married life. My sisters and I knew she wanted to stay in the family home, but she could NOT be alone. We met up with Care Indeed and after some adjustments to scheduling and care givers we are content and relieved that Mother is still doing very well. Yes, there have been a few late caregivers or caregivers that do not verbally engage very often with Mom but that is improving. Vanessa the CEO and her staff [especially Amrita, Cristine, Mau, Vincent and Jason] are there for me 100% when ever I have a question or issue- it gets resolved right away which is appreciated very much. My mom is 95 and she had a fall some time ago and had a hospital stay at 2 facilities; she needed caregiver help, full-time, 24 hours. After interviewing many caregivers and agencies, we chose Nurse Instead. They are new and they are really nice people. You will meet the entire staff and management. They have trained RNs who know how to do home care. They wash, clean, cook, help mom to exercise and bathe and dispense meds. They care a lot about their patients. Their execs work very hard to make sure you and and mom are happy. I trust my mom to their care when we are not there and they let me know about changes, on a timely basis. My mom is now happier and healing quicker because we have Nurse Instead helping her out. I would recommend them to anyone with a similar situation. read more
