Chai latte was fantastic. Still very busy and kind of loud on a weekday morning. Not a lot of places to sit

Cute coffee place close to Forest Park! The staff were all so friendly and the place was quiet. I tried the chai latte and the comet croissant- the croissant was buttery and flaky. The chai latte was nice flavor and not overpowering. When I checked in on yelp- they offered a coupon for 25% for pastry purchased with drink. read more

First time here, and it certainly won't be the last. Absolutely delicious chocolate croissant (not pictured), and WOOF what a breakfast sandwich - hands-down one of the best I've had in St. Louis. Breakfast sandwich deets: long-shredded spinach was a great choice. Too many places use full leaves, which tend to get caught up in cheese or slide off the egg. Not too much cheese, but enough to really just leave you wondering where the cheese ends and the egg begins. The EGG! My oh my...crustless-quiche-style egg, you have my heart. Perfectly cooked, soft, fluffy, but firm enough to not fall apart in the sandwich when taking a bite - simply frickin' delightful. The sandwich was a lovely temperature to feel like I had eaten in the restaurant and had waited the exact amount of time for it to not burn the tongue out of my mouth. Order was correct, including the requests for my lil guy's hot chocolate to be kid temp, and for my cortado to have almond milk and reserve espresso, which had beautiful depth of flavor. COVID careful, order online only, totally worth the short wait. read more

A great little place at the bottom of an office building to get a decent baked bite and cup of coffee. The only small downside which is largely based on personal preference is the lack of robust coffee flavor which my companion and I suspect and assume is due to using a light roast. However the drinks were made very well and they appear to have a solid team in the shop who know what they're doing and are friendly enough to their guests, plus we found it a great atmosphere to sit, study, and relax awhile which is definitely a plus! Would not count it worth a drive to visit again but would do so should we find ourselves in the area close by. read more

Stopped here while passing through STL. Very nice atmosphere, staff is lovely. My Dirty Chai was perfect! The Morning Bun pastry is not to be missed - balanced flavers with a touch of lemon, flaky crunch, not overly sweet. Make this your home to work from one day. read more

The four stars go for the bakery here. Their chocolate croissant was very tasty and had the most flaky crust. The coffee is what was disappointing. My husband and I stopped by here. We don't live in the St. Louis area and were in Forest Park when we decided we needed some good strong coffee. They apparently don't have any available drip coffee, so we had to settle for a pour-over, which didn't that tasty flavor coffee connoisseurs look forward to. read more

My second favorite hippy coffee joint. Why, because I'm stuck on my first love Kayaks lol... Comet Coffee is splendid in their own right. Beautiful yet simple decor, amazing coffee brews, super cool employees and delicious pastry selections to pair with your favorite drink. I'm also a stickler for a clean restroom and Comet passed the test with flying colors. It was immaculate and well organized. The purple walls gave off a certain feng shui Check it out, Christy said so ;-) read more

You know you're having a rough morning when someone asks if you just woke up when you've been awake for four hours. I took the bags under my eyes over to Comet Coffee in desperate need of something wonderfully caffeinated, and I found it in their house blend. I really like this place. The employees are so friendly here, and will gladly walk you through all of the different kinds of coffee they offer (they have quite a bit!) I added a tiny bit of skim milk and sugar to the house blend and it kept me going all afternoon. The flavors were so intense but it didn't have that tart after-taste I sometimes find in coffee. I was fully-caffeinated halfway through but kept drinking, and about a half hour in I was ready to blast off right out of my seat. Success! I had the pleasure of meeting the manager who told me that they make all of their pastries and treats in-house, so I'll obviously be back in for that soon. Oh, and do not miss the mustache-shaped biscotti! I agree with Angela S that this is another spot that'll help you get into the "science" behind the beans. I'll be back soon... go check Comet out! Watch them brew the coffee, too... you'll be impressed. read more

Great Coffee Shop and Baked Goods - especially the Mexican Wedding Cookies. There is plenty of parking in the front/back and lots of outdoor seatings. It's location is a little strange since it's right off the highway- so there is no neighborhood view or any view that isn't the concrete highway outside. Pros: Coffee (They sell Blueprint stuff too) Pasties (Yelp Check-in Discount) Wifi Service Cons: Hours: Close Early so you can't meet in the evenings (5/6pm on weekdays and 2pm on Sundays!) read more

Best bakery and best coffee in St. Louis. Friendly welcoming staff that know how it brew perfect espresso drinks.

I came here on a Saturday morning after a friend recommended this place. She mentioned the pistachio croissant which caught my attention. It was very busy but service was fast! I the croissant was tasty and unique. The filling had a slight citrus/acidic flavor. Great place to grab a quick bite or sit and study/work. read more

Wait. You're telling me there is a charming, cutting-edge microbakery tucked away in this commercial run-of-the-mill building? Get outta town. And you say their drinks are fabulous and baked goods are one-of-a-kind? Quail eggs baked in the center and local meats pushing the flavor envelope? Yum. Okay, okay, I'll check it out. My first thought as we rolled up to the building was, "Oh no, what the heck did I get us into this time?" It was a bustling Sunday morning and this place didn't have an empty seat in the house. After getting past the sting of the pricy pastries, we ordered the quail and chicken egg rustic-looking muffins and a scone. We topped it off with two frilly coffee drinks that walked the fine line between good coffee and adding extra pizzazz for those of us who do not typically drink coffee and espresso. The space itself is quite sleek and modern like the exterior of the building but something about it didn't seem so sterile and uninviting. I would definitely spend an afternoon working on my laptop here. For those looking to catch some fresh air, they also have a few tables outside. read more

I'm a sucker for craft coffee so had to give Comet Coffee a try. I ordered the Brandywine Costa Rica Las Lajas Roast and I was very impressed by the quality. As soon as I picked up the cup, I couldn't help but notice that this was one of the most aromatic and fragrant coffees I have had in a while. On the taste, the coffee had a rich silky mouthfeel with an acidic and fruity flavor that jumps out and lingers into the finish. It's obvious that they are using quality beans and are brewing their coffee with a lot of care. On the flipside, my coffee was $4.80, so you have to decide whether it's worth the price or not. For me, it's probably too expensive to get regularly, but maybe it's more of a treat to get on occasion. If you want top-tier coffee, and don't mind paying a premium, this is the place to go! read more

I LOVE this place! The baked goods are amazing- the pour overs and espresso's are always so well crafted and tasty. I come here for quick coffee meetings, a quiet place to reflect or just a great kick of coffee or tea when I am near forest park! I love the easy location, the well balanced roasts of coffee and the cozy feelings with the atmosphere. I most recently had the chai with almond milk and it was everything I never knew I wanted! read more

High craft coffee. Enough said. Recently, I had the Guatemala. It was perfectly brewed and absolutely delicious. This is how it is every single time at this place, every brew I've tried. You can always trust their picks. I was meeting my wife and a friend, but was the first to arrive. I wanted to buy Julia's drink, but since she wasn't there yet, the barista asked if I'd like them to hold off until they saw her arrive. That is such awesome hospitality. Surly, a couple minutes after she arrive, here comes her oat milk iced vanilla latte. Perfectly timed, they are the true champs, but it made me look good too ;). (Still always looking for ways to impress!) Generally speaking, the atmosphere at this place is always enjoyable. I find the quiet hustle of this place extremely conducive to getting work done. It's a quiet, but busy place. Clean and simply designed, too, which is certainly my taste. They've recently started brewing their own coffee. Which is so good. Comet is always stocked up with other high end roasterie's coffees, like Sweet Bloom, and Saint Louis' very own, Blueprint. Whether you want a crafted cup or just to stop in and pick up your beans for your weekly brew, Comet is where it's at. read more

Roasted: checked out comet coffee while visiting St. Louis. Interesting atmosphere - seating didn't seem to fit with the vibe. No soft seating - all hard seating. Staff was incredibly friendly both at the register and the bar. Was very excited to try a latte from here but sadly it fell flat and the espresso was tart and not pulled well. Sad because Intelligentsia is such a good coffee and this one didn't hit the mark. Unroasted: walking up you don't get that neighborhood feel. It feels like it's a grab and go place. I did see people sitting and enjoying the shop with an job interviewing at the adjacent table. The smell as you walk in is amazing. Really brightens your mood with the sweet smell of pastries. Latte art was on point and they even brew intelligentsia. The decor doesn't fit and looks thrown together. I enjoyed my latte it was made perfect. No sugar added read more

Oh man. I hadn't had a chance to stop in comet for a solid year, but found my way back here Sunday. I finally had the appetite to try one of their amazing baked goods. I am a sucker for scones, and the pear, walnut and goat cheese scone hit the spot! Plus the pour over coffee was delicious! I normally don't care too much about fancy coffee, but this was good and even my unrefined coffee palate could tell. The atmosphere is so unique! They have updated since my last visit with more tables. It was crowded, but I can see why with all the deliciousness available. I'll hopefully make it back again soon. read more

Hands down the best coffee in town. I recently moved to Dogtown and thought my only coffee option was to stop by Dunkin Donuts on the way to my work in Fenton. Barf. I'm so glad I found Comet. All of the employees put so much care and love into making your coffee (literally speaking, as I usually get a heart in my foam!), there isn't customer service like this anywhere else in STL in my opinion. Kaldi's is a close second, but Comet just gives you the warm and fuzzies. Everyone is genuinely happy to be there and to act as your morning pick-me-up. Now to the coffee. My regular order is the cappuccino with skim milk. It's smooth, the perfect temperature, and the milk has the perfect froth. Granted it does take 5-10 minutes to get your coffee, but that's because every cup is brewed fresh in their individual steepers. The food looks amazing and one of these days I'll give in and eat one of those heavenly carbs. Until then, I'll enjoy the perfect cup of coffee read more

I lived in this neighborhood and this coffee shop was a breath of fresh air during the pandemic. Their pastries are great. I recommend an iced dirty chai or their cold brew. People there knew me by name. I wish they still had their pre-pandemic hours, but the owners explained that they just didn't have the capacity to keep doing that. Heavenly. Get the pan au chocolat and a coffee or latte and you're in for a real treat.

So a pandemic update, pre the world blowing up I used to love to stop by here for a croissant (which are/were among the best in STL) and a coffee drink, but now in a COVID world, the door is locked and you need to call ahead for curb service and lord help you if you don't know ahead of time what you want. It's a very cumbersome system they have going on here. IMHO, this place is essentially closed. read more

Traveling to St. Louis is usually a good trip, but the last few times I have struggled to find good wake up juice! This trip I was able to take a longer ride share ride to get to Comet. Glad I did. The choices of grinds were exceptional. They hand pull each shot with care. So many people just don't know what they are missing when they visit a corporate machine that buys an automatic machine and pumps out sub par to even terrible brew! And then charging way too much for said swill! Being a Barista is a form of an artist not a button pusher! And comet is staffed with artists. Keep up the good work! read more

you know what i think i'll have to go back and try a different coffee because the reviews are so good. i got a vanilla cold brew with cream. it wasn't "bad" by any means but it wasn't memorable either. i will however be rushing back there for another chocolate chip muffin. read more

I was staying at a nearby hotel and walked over for an afternoon coffee. I opted for a flat white and cookie - both were fantastic. A bit on the trendier side. Great place to do work IF you are able to grab a table since it is popular and can get very busy - THAT being said they will bring your drink right to you. And the coffee is exceptional. Black! Flavor is fantastic. And the chocolate chip cookie is worth indulging in. Outdoor seating is quaint and bathrooms are well maintained and very clean. I'm not a coffee drinker, so take this review with a grain of salt, because I think that might be their main attraction. I'm a tea drinker, and I needed somewhere to stop while I was in the area. Vibe is cool. It was a little confusing because it's in almost an office building. If you come in the back, it's kind of hard to find. You have to walk through a lobby. I guess it is young and hip, but honestly I feel like my dad would love this place. It's got the "I need something accessible but cool during the work day" vibe. Pros: - Parking is solid. 2 hour parking in the back, some spots in the front. - Pastries. I got a bunch. They boxed them up in a nice box for me. - Tea. Many selections. I appreciated that. - Pastries. Definitely fresh. Croissants were on the well cooked side, depends on what you like. I don't know if Mary Berry would approve, but they were very buttery. Very tasty. Chocolate croissant was lit. Cons: - "Campers" aka People who camp out at coffee shops. This seems like a great place to have a meeting or something, but almost all of the tables were taken by people with laptops who looked like they were glued to the seat for the foreseeable future. Although, who am I to judge, I'm working remotely this afternoon, and honestly I might come back. - If you sit outside, it's on the freeway. It will not be "peaceful". - A little pricey Overall, cool place. Would definitely come here over Starbucks or other corporate stops read more

I think this place is a bit overpriced. They didn't have any prices posted or I would have walked away. They're only serving people outside their establishment. So I ordered what I always do at Starbucks a latte decaf with oat milk. They bring me out a small cup but charged me $5.87. I can get a venti which is the largest at Starbucks for the same price. We tried this place a few times to Comet this week. Incredible smooth coffee. Staff was very friendly and nice. The baked goods were incredible.
