I have used the Comet cleaner on Stacy Rd in McKinney occasionally for the last couple of years. I would say about half the time I have to ask for something to to be redone because it is still dirty. Last week I took in a sweater, dress, and a silk pillow cover. When I picked up the items the sweater had a blue spray type something all over the sleeve and front, the pillow cover still had a small stain on it, and the dress was pressed poorly. I had them redo the sweater and pillow cover and just took the dress. When I picked the items up today, they had WASHED the 100% dry clean only pillow cover! It is a ruined, wrinkled, falling apart mess! And they just handed to me as if nothing was wrong. What kind of dry cleaner washes something that is labeled dry clean only? I could have ruined it myself for free! Also the sweater was still stained. Needless to say I will never go back and should have learned my less before this happene. read more

I have been using Comet Cleaners(Frisco Location) the one on Coit Rd #130 for over 5 years now. I am not someone who writes reviews but this time around I have to so as to create awareness. I always bring my clothes to them brand new and every single time it's returned to me with stains or discoloration. My white clothes always I mean ALWAYS come back with stains(it becomes brown) I have complained to them countless times but I guess no one takes me seriously. Someone needs to hold them accountable for always damaging cli clothes. This is the end of my contract with them. If you all can't dry clean clothes properly then you don't need to be operational. DO NOT go there unless you are ready to have your clothes damaged. read more

Quick turnaround, but questionable ethics. The gentleman behind the counter, who I presume is the owner, was pleasant enough, but after I received two of my ball caps back I discovered that the medallion/patches were ruined! I guess the dry cleaning solvent must have dissolved the glue holding then on. The irritating thing about this experience is that the gentleman never said anything about this when he gave me them back along with my other items. They were neatly presented and wrapped in plastic, and on a hanger. He could've at least explained to me what happened, or made at least a half hearted apology, but nothing was said so I assumed all was good. I was in a hurry and did not check my items until later. If I hadn't been busy with other business, I would have gone back and asked for at least a partial refund. I will acknowledge here that before the cleaning the gentleman told me there was a possibility that they might not be able to be completely be cleaned, which I acknowledged, but I had no idea that besides not getting them clean that they could be ruined! The other thing is I had some couch pillows that needed cleaning and while they did OK job, there was, however, some pilling of the material that wasn't there before, and in my opinion, they weren't very professionally cleaned when considering the price that was charged. I don't feel like I got a good deal here. The one positive thing I can say is that the gentleman was very courteous and was able to get the items done relatively quickly within a few days while I was visiting the Fort Irving area, but the thing that kinda sticks in my craw is that nothing at all was said when I picked up the items-no apologies, no discount nor explanation of any kind was offered. Naturally, I think I'm unlikely to return here if ever I'm in this area again in the future. read more

This is a brand new (never worn) dinner jacket for a private client's wedding. The garment was stainless when it was dropped off but blemished when it was picked up which would suggest that this product was damaged while in the cleaner's care; however, the owner claims this is "not possible." I have been met with an unwillingness to accommodate a minor request to rectify the problem and instead charged double for a company mistake. This is unacceptable. read more

They are the best! You truly do get what you pay for. They clean shoes! I've now gotten multiple pairs of white shoes (Converse & Air Force 1's) cleaned with them and they've come back looking brand new. If you don't feel like spending $80 on a new pair of shoes, go to Comet and pay a fraction of that. Thank you so much!!! read more

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. DO NOT BRING YOUR CLOTHES HERE! Similar to other customer complaints here , they ruined 3 of my white blazers and they all had similar stains that were NOT present when I dropped my items off (pics attached). One blazer was only worn one time last summer and was hanging up in my closet since then! The manager at the Stacy Rd location was extremely rude and insinuated that I was lying about the condition of my clothing and kept repeating "we did our job", so I went OFF on her. If you did your job, why am I still standing in front of you complaining about the condition of my clothes? Where is the customer service and CARE for customers? I also pointed out to her that if my blazers were stained, they would've pointed that out to me and noted it on my account when the items were dropped off! After I went off on her, she offered to try and clean the items and remove the stains...I obliged (with much hesitation)...the stains lightened up but they're still present and visible! So at this point I told Scott Jackson, the owner, that I need my items replaced and he refused. And he was extremely arrogant and dismissive, stating that maybe there was something in my closet that caused the stains. Really LOL? I asked him for the name of his attorney, and he refused to provide that information. Then he told me to stop calling because it's "harassment" and he would call the police, and hung up on me. Why did you go there Scott? Is it because I'm Black? Hmmmm....interesting. I tried calling back and he continued to hang up, told his employees not to answer, and then blocked my number (as if I can't call him from another phone if I wanted to lol). What are we, in 5th grade or are we adults smh? Anyway, I actually called the police myself and they laughed (in disgust) stating that they've received complaints about Comet Cleaners several times! I will be filing a claim in small claims court. You are a business and CANNOT treat people this way. When you lack integrity and common decency, you need to be put OUT of business. This Comet Cleaners has TERRIBLE customer service! I went to this location for the advertised 25% off but now I see why they offer discounts . . . to get customers. I had several pieces to be cleaned and Scott (the owner) called to tell me two pieces had been damaged during cleaning but he was not responsible. He offered no reasonable explanation or recourse for damaging my items. Now after reading reviews I see other customers have had the same problems with this cleaners-poor customer service and damaged clothing. In an attempt to save a few dollars I ended up losing more . . . It was not worth it! read more

I just recently moved to Mckinney and I noticed Comet Cleaners was close to my house so I decided to check it out because of its convenience! I had nothing but a great experience here. I dropped off 3 pairs of pants and a sweater on Monday the 30th and I picked them up this morning. When I dropped them off, I got a 25% discount for my first visit! That was an awesome surprise. They also brought to my attention that they have sale days on Monday's and Friday's for all drycleaning and household items. It's great to know I will have a promised 25% off discount twice a week! When I picked up this morning, the staff greeted me and was very friendly. When I got home, I looked at my clothes that I had gotten cleaned and they looked great! The quality of work is outstanding and I think for the job they did, the prices are reasonable. I will continue to use this cleaner! Thanks Comet!! read more

Be careful when you go here they overcharge and don't want to refund your money. They only offer store credit. Took ALOT of my husbands shirts here and they charged me for blouses on 5 of them. Didn't realize until I got home and went up their a couple days later and the young man working said well I can no longer see the shirts so I can't help you out. Said I probably brought silk or polyester shirts! So I had to email asst. manager and she took 3 days to get back to me with an excuse her email wasn't working. She did apologize for the way the young man handled it and offered store credit. I sure was hoping this place would work out, but they are pricey and the customer service really is awful. Save your money and go to your regular place! read more
