Best burger menu in the High Country. Seasonal shakes are great as well as hand cut fries. My son's go to is the ranch fries with bacon. But the one thing that I appreciate beyond the great food was when they shut down to cook meals for the line workers immediately after Helene. My friend called this the promised land and she wasn't kidding. I ordered the Carolina style burger, the ranch fries and an oreo milkshake. Every bite was delicious! The burger was cooked perfectly and juicy. The ranch fries loaded with toppings, they definitely didn't skimp, and the oreo milkshake the perfect end to the meal. The Come Back Shack fries are so, so delicious! One of our favorite snack to grab when visiting Boone. We are always astonished how quickly they get you through the drive through with freshly cooked food. The systems and organization they have in place make for a seamless experience. Also, we love shakes and enjoy that they have seasonal one too. The pumpkin shake and the Girl Scout Cookie shake are a couple of our favorite seasonal ones. read more

We remembered this place from a previous visit to Boone. It is a small locally owned place specializing in burgers. The dining room hostess was super helpful, helping us navigate the new (to us) online ordering system. The food was every bit as good as we remembered it. I had a fried green tomato burger with pimento cheese. My husband had a cheese burger. The fries were hand cut and delicious. The workers checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. They are currently only offering drive thru due to Covid. However they're running their drive thru very smoothly and quickly. There are picnic tables available for outdoor dining and they are spaced out well throughout lot. There were two employees taking orders from the parking lot. By the time you get to the window you have contactless payment and receive your order. The burgers were excellent and the side of fries could easily be shared. If I could leave less than 1 star I would. We went into the restaurant and the lady pointed at a kiosk she said take your order there. You can only pay eith a card. No cash allowed. Unbelievable, we are not in the midst of the Pandemic anymore, but there are no waitresses or anyone on the floor. She made us feel like she didn't want to deal with us at all. I would not recommend this restaurant as we had a terrible experience with them. read more

Good Greek style burger! Burger has feta, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers and the beef patty burger. The french fries were regular flavor and great spices and definitely yummy. Great place! Was in the mood for some great food driving through the Parkway and found this place. Food was amazing and the service was even better! We had ordered a couple milkshakes and found out afterwards that they were having trouble with the machine. They managed to create half the order before admitting they could complete the order. Not only were they great about communicating the trouble they reimbursed us for all the milkshakes, even the ones they were able to make! That is the way to take care of people! read more

OMG!!! I still think about this place. Of course I heard of this place because of yelp. I saw the fantastic reviews and knew I had to come and try this place out!! I was nervous because the parking lot is small and narrow but we were lucky enough to find a spot. Line is OUT THE DOOR!! But it's worth the wait. We wrote down what we wanted and gave it to the cashier. We got a number and found a spot outside to eat. We didn't wait long at all for our food. I got a sweet tea and it was good. I started off with a chili with all the fixings on it. I would definitely get that again. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and it was juicy and fat. I also got fries with comeback sauce and bacon and cheese. I'm not a fries fan but I had to get these. They were so good and straight up loaded with toppings!! The prices are cheap too!! My husband loved his food so much he ate the whole thing AND was debating on ordering a burger to go. He decided not to because a huge church van pulled up and we knew we didn't want to wait. Giant, juicy burgers! We both got the double burger with "come back" sauce and fries. Service was unbelievably fast and the food was all great! The pickles on my burger were homemade and gave a great, crisp crunch! The fries were hand cut, and a solid side item. I got a vanilla milkshake that was good too, and the chicken tender snack was very fresh and hot. The drive thru was full the whole time, but it was moving. This place is popular! They have heated outdoor seating that allows dogs, and there are additional picnic benches at the back of their property. There's a cute little napkin/condiment shack so you don't have to go all the way back inside for those things. Great for large groups! Overall, it's a super good value for what you get. read more

We've been customers there for 10 years, but we'll never go back again. This is burgers and fries place and tonight the fries were inedible. They came covered in so much salt they couldn't be eaten. We brought this to the attention of someone behind the counter and they brought us a new order of fries (to replace the THREE inedible orders) and they were just about as bad. If you've never been there before, you must order on your smart phone, or at a kiosk (there's only one kiosk for the entire restaurant and it typically takes 10 minutes to get an order entered). Tonight, the kiosk wasn't working properly and it took many tries to get the order entered by phone. It's much faster with wait staff, but they did away with those folks during the pandemic. The students may love this place, but if you're adult who knows what a real restaurant is, stay away from this place. read more

ordered my food and got up to the window and the girl handed me my shake with the lid barely on and the milkshake way to overfilled. i put my shake in my cup holder and it started to go everywhere. so i asked the girl for extra extra napkins because "my milkshake went everywhere" and she handed me my napkins laughed and closed the window. to me it seemed like she knew the lid wasn't on and thought it was funny. that will be the last time i support come back shack. read more

I'm sorry to leave a negative review. Usually, the food has been good. Today, I ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich, seasoned fries, and tea. What I got - dry bun with a squirt of mayo, one VERY soggy lettuce leaf, Hawaiian sauce on the wrapper but not the sandwich, two dry and rubbery pieces of chicken, fries drenched, doused, in seasoning salt (I ate only three, 2 hours and a glass of milk later I can't get the taste of salt out of my mouth), and iced tea that was fully half ice. The piece of pineapple was the only thing edible. Oof, that was bad. read more

Never got to try the food. The ordering system kept messing up and I had to get up three times to get someone to help me with it. The employees never offered to just take the order for us so we got up and left. Passed three employees on the way out and none of them even asked what was wrong or why we were leaving.
