I've been to two bachelor's parties in eastern North Carolina... I have been to Cook Out with my fellow groomsmen for both. There isn't a correlation, but I enjoy going to one when the opportunity presents itself, as it did in Blowing Rock. Ordering a double cheeseburger with chicken bites and a banana peanut butter milkshake is quite magical, very magical. They are a good go-to for a good burger on the fly with a milkshake to drink. We ordered our food through the drive-through and found the process easy and fast, fast and easy. Two stars are for the friendly service, the food is subpar for Cook Out. I've loved cook out ever since college. Hush puppies, Cajun fries, burgers and all their other foods including the milkshakes. We went here because we wanted to pick up some food. The line was extremely long at the drive thru, which is fine they can't help that. Their spicy chicken sandwich is not spicy. They advertise it as "hot" it's not "hot" or spicy. It's breaded chicken but it's actually not crispy either it's just battered chicken sandwich. It's not that great. We got the Cajun fries which were definitely seasoned with Cajun seasonings but were very soggy. Not good. Who likes soggy fries?! We also got a regular chicken sandwich which was nothing special. I would even venture to say it was bland and below average. Finally we got the Oreo milkshake which should be very standard, but it wasn't. It wasn't well mixed. Most of the Oreo was at the bottom and most of the top was just vanilla. Tiny pieces of Oreo at the top with most of the Oreo at the bottom. Meh. The milkshake I'm used to add very well blended and delicious. The fries are usually crispy and not soggy. The hamburgers and the chicken sandwiches have more flavor. They was a very high volume of people there and I'm sure they were busy but the quality of food shouldn't change. I wouldn't recommend coming to this cookout. I love cook out and there's tons of other cook outs in North Carolina and South Carolina this but this is not one I would go to. The only thing that docked a star for me was seating and seasoning on the burger :) My brother in law recommended we try this spot out and we were excited about the concept. You can order what's called a "tray" and they are only five bucks. It comes with an entree and two sides as well as drink. You can upgrade your drink to a milk shake for a buck which we did. I got the quarter pound burger with bacon cheese lettuce and mayo, and onion rings and cole slaw. Over all it was pretty good! The milk shake was amazing - I opted for peanut butter fudge. They had a lot of really great options for milkshakes. I wish the burger had better seasoning. I do like that it was better than fast food quality. I got a side of the Cookout Sauce to dip my onion rings in and it was so good! I ended up using the rest for my sandwich. This place isn't somewhere you eat inside. You can drive through or walk up and order. The service was quick and they were busy. My only complaint is that they had benches but no tables. I learned this is the norm for Cookouts but it would have been nice to eat inside rather than our car. We would come read more

An overcooked dry patty with cheese that must have been microwaved into a liquid thin covering that melded with the boiled onions and soggy flat bun. Came here the other day & the service was pretty mediocre like it usually is, but that wasn't the problem I had. There were 5 or 6 employees working, and only 1 was wearing a mask. They didn't even have their masks like on their chins or ears or anything, there were just no masks in sight. Forewarning: I didn't actually eat here, but my friends' shakes were great. We were out and about one evening on vacation and one of us really wanted a mint chocolate chip shake, but we had no idea where to go. While waiting in line at the car wash next door, we look over and see this gem.
