Don't get your vehicle repaired here. When I originally brought my car for an estimate the owner told me he was doing me a favor by providing an estimate for me. What kind of collision center doesn't want cars to repair? The repair process for my car took nearly a month longer than I was quoted for. I sent my car back to the shop after it was "finished" on three separate occasions. The first time because there were new dash indicators that they did not care to mention to me. The second time my key-less entry system did not work. The third time my door would not open from the outside. All three of those issues would have been easily avoided by starting the car to check for dash indicators, unlocking the car, and opening/closing the door - all things I would expect a professional mechanic to be capable of... read more

We recently used Combs to repair a dented rear door on our Explorer. Our repair was scheduled but ended up taking 3 full weeks to complete what should have been a relatively normal repair. Not once did they ever call us to give us an update; rather, my husband would call to check on the status and the person we spoke with usually had no clue as to when things would get done. After finally getting our car back, we discovered they had gone through our center console and removed all of our change! So on top of taking forever, they stole from us! Do not use them!! read more

My car has been in the shop for over a month and I've been told new information Daily that doesn't align with anything they've said previously. They have very poor communication and it sounds like no one ever knows what's happening over there. Save yourself a lot of time and hassle and do not go here. When faced between hitting a deer or hitting a guard rail, I hit the guard rail. My insurance sent me to Combs Collision in Westerville. My car looks fantastic. After I picked it up, I was having issues with the mechanicals. I called the next business day and they had me bring my car in immediately. They discovered that there was a short in the wire to the trunk that was causing issues on the passenger side. It most likely happened when they had removed all of the panels. The point is that they fixed it immediately, and made restitution for a small scrape they put into my leather backseat. I was extremely happy with Paul's customer service and with Sue who handles all the calls, scheduling and insurance. read more

Bad experience. I called in to see if they could do some work on my car, I needed my headlight fixture replaced in my Mercedes. The receptionist told me to stop by and we can look at it and give you a quote. I stopped by and Pat looked at my car. He told me no problem we can get this done for you. He said let me call around and see if I can find some cheaper parts and I will get back to you with a quote. Three days went by and I called back since I hadn't heard from Pat. I left my first message with the receptionist, she said Pat would call you back when he gets in. I waited another 24 hours and called back. I was told the same thing, Pat will call you back. Never heard back from Pat. At this point it was getting clear they didn't want to help me out for whatever reason. Not sure what happened and why he changed his mind. I will never recommend this place. If you changed your mind for whatever reason and didn't want to do the work you could of at least extended the professionally on the first or second call and just said sorry we won't be able to do what you need. read more

I was involved in a relatively mild accident and took my truck to Combs as they were recommended. The initial estimate they did was approved by insurance, after starting they found more damage and ended up having my vehicle almost a month longer than they estimated. Upon getting my truck back I immediately noticed multiple minor issues and went back to have them corrected, they tried to give me a tiny loaner car instead of an actual rental and had the vehicle twice as long as originally planned this time as well!! Even still it is not right and I have taken it back several times and called them to not have my calls returned and issues addressed. I will never go there again and certainly never recommend them to anyone read more

I've never left a negative review for a place before but this experience has been a headache from start to finish. We needed to get a drivers side mirror replaced after some vandalism. It's an older car so I wasn't surprised on September 15th when we took it in that they would need to find the part. They said they would call with an update. Fast forward to October 3rd - haven't heard anything. I call and there is some confusion about where the part is and what's been done - am told I will receive a call next week. Fast forward again to today - October 19th. Still haven't heard so I call again. They say the part is on the way but have no estimate of when it will arrive. I ask when it was ordered and find out it was October 4th - three weeks after we initially went in and I assume only because I called on the 3rd to check. Incredibly frustrated with the lack of communication and customer service. I called our insurance company to switch to a different repair shop - if they can't even coordinate ordering a part I have no confidence that they should be touching a vehicle. read more

They fixed up the Forester (yep, I have a Forester and I'm a guy, wanna fight about it?) fast. Like, suspiciously fast. They also washed it prior to returning it. The gal (can I say gal? Is that ok?) working the front desk was very friendly, helpful, and explained everything without being pedantic. I can't comment on value too much, because all car repair seems ridiculously expensive and someone else's insurance was paying for it, but I can say I will be back for body work as the need arises. They were able to get my car in before I moved across the country. I had to get my bumper replaced and the other places I checked said they were booked for weeks. Dana was super helpful and they were able to fit me in before my trip. They were sent the wrong bumper but only kept my car for an extra day but that wasn't a big deal. I got my car back clean and vacuumed too, so that was nice. read more

Combs held our car for longer than they originally said they would because they said they found more necessary repairs. OK, that's fine I suppose but one of the malfunctioning parts wasn't caused by the collision for which the car was in their shop. That part, the original steel "fuel door" was removed and replaced with a PEICE OF GARBAGE PLASTIC PART! And here's the kicker.....IT DOESNT WORK! We can't open the fuel door now at all! That cheap plastic crap part is worth maybe $4.00 and they billed the insurance company $141.00 .........AND IT DOESNT WORK! Stay tuned, this story isn't over. read more

I ran over a tarp strap that put some dents, scratches, broke my tailight, and gashed my running board due to driving 60mph as I ran over the strap which Combs fixed. The issue is that it was supposed to be done on Friday and at 1:45, I called and asked what time I should pick up the car and they said "I was getting ready to call you" which means, I forgot. The car was now going to be done on Friday due to Pat not submitting the claim correctly which Combs stated it would be Monday afternoon. At 3:00pm on Monday, they stated that it would be around 6:00pm which isn't "Monday Afternoon" and after looking at what was submitted to Farmers Insurance, they replaced things and took advantage of Farmers using them exclusively. The communication is awful and I would NEVER recommend Combs which is why this location has such a low rating. I hit a deer in a small SUV a few years back and the insurance company recommended combs. I had the car in for the repair and it took a couple days longer than originally stated. Then when I came to pick it up, there were repairs that were totally not performed and the body and paint work was sloppy. There was black paint runs and drips on the new plastic trim, and tool marks on the brand new trim as well. I refused to accept the car in that condition and left it there for a few more days while they addressed the issues. When I returned 48 to 72 hours later they hadn't replaced anything that was supposed to have been replaced and they further scarred up the plastic trim where the tool marks were made by applying heat which made more but softer looking marks on the trim, and they hadn't even bothered to address the paint that had dropped/run over onto the trim. During this walk around inspection an employ just chipped the paint runs off the trim and said that should do it, looking to me for my approval... By this point I had called my insurance agent to get the message sent to these clowns that they needed to replace and repair the parts that were not deemed satisfactory or in the like new condition they were being paid for. This go around, they decided to offer me a rental car, gratis, and the office manager replaced a couple of tail lights that were oxidized in addition to the parts my agent told them needed to be made right. So once they finally made the car look about as it should I went to pick it up just after hours. Happy to be done with them, I was Barely up the road before I got a call back that they left their shop keys in my car and needed me to turn around to return them... About 6 months later, I hit deer number 2. This time it took it to Automotive services, a shop I had used religiously prior to my first experience with combs. Automotive services did a great job on my vehicle the first time, and during the repair process found damage and broken components that was said to be done by Combes for the first deer related repair... Automotive services worked with my insurance company, without any hassle for me, to get these other items repaired/replaced and my agent informed me that these costs were going to be billed to Combes for having not doing the work during their 4 opportunities to do so. read more

I've used Combs actually 3 times. The 2 times previous to this, they did an OK job. Nothing special, but the work looked good and wasn't obvious that it had been fixed. This last time was a disaster of epic proportions. We were hit 45mph vs. 0mph in the rear of my SUV by someone texting. Geico said it would be a $2600 repair and issued a check. Due to previous experience, I went to Combs. Wow what a mistake...they just cannot handle large major repairs on modern vehicles. My repair went from $2600 to $4000. Then to $7200, then to $9000, then to $11500. The problem is that they didn't take the time to thoroughly examine the damage before scheduling in the adjuster and ordering parts. So every time they got a part and did a repair, they found something else. This happened not once, not twice, but 4 times. Then they gave me my car back. Well, it pulled to the left so bad I couldn't drive it out of the parking lot, you could hear wind coming through the rear window, my keyless entry didn't work and the spare tire had been punctured by the hitch and the wheel bent and they never even noticed this until 2 months into the repair. The tire hangs down in plain view! The shop could not get the alignment worked out so I actually had to take it to the mechanic myself to get that fixed...and then I also had to take it to the dealer myself to get my keyfobs programmed when they fixed the keyless entry. This should have all been part of the repair. They are also terrible at communication. The car would sit there being done and they wouldn't call me. I even asked the estimator, Billy, to please call me when it's done. His response was, "well we're really busy I'll try to remember but if not you better call me" and then I hear the ESPN jingle in the background because they were doing fantasy football drafts at the time! So, my repair that was supposed to be 2-3 weeks took 68 days to deliver my car repaired. Then I get in, drive away from the shop, finally complete and what do I notice?? They managed to get paint all over my driver side window. So now when the sun shines I can barely see out the window due to the glare on the spray paint. Unbelievable. Avoid them for anything more than a door ding repair...trust me. read more

STAY AWAY!! If your looking for a body shop only concerned with cashing you insurance check, you've found the place! Took my car in to repair some damage to the rear bumper. Went to pick it up and there was a backup sensor that wasn't painted and a screw in my tire. After haggling with them, I finally got them to plug the tire and paint the sensor. Went to pick up my car a second time and there was a brand new crack in my windshield! The response; a shrug and 'file a claim with your insurance'. After following up with my insurance to try and 'persuade' them to do the right thing and repair their damage, I find out that when I signed to have the work done, there is a clause that alleviates them of any and all damages that might occur while in their possession. So if an employee drives your car into the side of the building? Sorry about your luck. Ultimately, if your looking for a body shop that probably uses knock-off Korean parts painted with a can of spray paint, you're looking at the right shop, go and talk to Nate, he will 'take care of you'. read more

I would not recommend this company, They do very shoddy work. I took a 2010 Lexus SUV to them which had been rear ended. When I went to pick it up I could see that nothing was properly aligned and the bumper was actually sticking out, i.e. not secured. I took it back and it's still not fixed right. The sides keep popping out and have to continually be pushed back in. Then, when I picked it up the second time the tire warning light was on and I went to Firestone and had to have a nail removed from the tire. I'm hoping to get rear ended again so I can take it somewhere else and have it repaired professionally. read more

Very disappointed in the sense of urgency by Combs to fix my truck. Still haven't gotten it back (two weeks, dropped it off on 6/1/16) and I've been given two completion dates and neither have been met. It was a simple bumper replacement, order parts and paint/install. Clearly they didn't overnight my parts after they were wrong on the original completion date. They are behind and instead of making guys work overtime and on the weekends they just extend the completion date and expect that I change my arrangements for borrowing a vehicle. I'm meant to go out of town this weekend and was told I would have my truck back by today. Not happening now and it's Friday so guys must just want to hurry up and go home for the weekend. I didn't want it rushed if that compromised quality but two weeks for a bumper. I will not return to Combs and will steer anyone I know away from them. read more
