Had Coltech work on our older house renovation 4 years ago. They installed new breaker box and connections to electrical main. This AM heard a loud "boom" and lost all electric. Turned out to be a transformer explosion. After SRP rectified the problem, Coltech came out to check our Main box & fuses promptly, and as usual were very courteous and helpfull. Our pool pump kept tripping the breaker and an outlet in the kitchen was not working at all. Brian was able to come out the next day and tackled both of these for us with ease. He gave us a reasonable quote up front for the work, with no surprise fees or add-ons. He explained all of the work and knowledgeably answered all of our questions, making sure we were completely satisfied. I was 100% impressed with the services today. James and his partner Dave were extremely nice and friendly. They had to ground a few outlets for us which was requested by our home inspection report because we are selling our house. They are dog friendly people and also kids friendly. These guys are amazing. I've had them out twice now. So first, James is very friendly. He's been early to every appointment we've sent. Quotes are always accurate. I know what to expect because he's consistent and reliable. Also an animal lover. The first time they came out was two years ago, and the second time was just today. I received 3 other bids and Coltech was not the cheapest but my wife had such a good feeling from her meeting with them, she said "go with Coltech, if they are close". I am so glad I did. Seems like finding good work is hard to come by, BUT... if you are looking for a quality electrician, stop looking, you found them! I had set an appt. with James to come and look at and then finish some work that a previous company didn't make so "simple". James came out, gave me a price that was very reasonable and set a date to come back. We did have a mix up in dates, but he and his partner did get here even while I was sleeping, did the outside work without even waking me up and then called later so I could pay him. Quality work, reasonable prices, easy to work with... what else could you ask for! Actually, there was one item where I had a fan light that the light wouldn't work. A previous company wanted to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Not Coltech Electrical. He actually suggested a solution that was a lot easier and less expensive! He suggested instead of spending all kinds of time, tracing down wiring, or adding new wiring, to just add a remote control. Great idea. I had done that before, so I said I could do it. He was fine with that. I already had one too. Unfortunately, although wired correctly, it didn't work. I called James up, he came back again and in 5-10 minutes, cut out a module of some kind, wired it back as I had done, and works like a charm!Even has features that I wouldn't have had with new wiring, like a delayed exit from the room where the light stays on for 30 seconds after shutting it off so you can leave the room at night with the light on. Then he took a look at something else that I hadn't talked about when the appointment was made. Once again, this is a great company. Reasonable, Professional, On time, and quality work. James and Dave came out to install cable on the other side of my living room, which we could not get the cable companies to do for us because they had to crawl in the attic. They also installed a new light fixture and adjusted two others that were installed incorrectly during the house remodel. They even repaired some exposed wires they found in the attic to make sure we were up to code and safe. They were very quick with giving us an estimate and scheduling a date to come out and to do the work. They were even very nice and put the remainder of our tv stand together and mounted the tv for us. Very professional, polite, and inexpensive for the work they did for us. read more
