They troubleshot a ceiling fan issue, fixed a backward wired kitchen outlet, tightened loose wires under the kitchen sink and retighten every connection in the main electrical panel. Del showed up and would not do the testing for the home warranty on our broke. Dan so my girlfriend asked him to leave if he would not do what was asked prior to his arrival. Tried to speak with Brian, but he was extremely difficult to speak with and it was impossible for him to assign a new tech because it is a small company. We waited four business days to have them come out and do nothing. Horrible waste of time and would not recommend them for any work in the valley. read more

Our home warranty company assigned Del from MK to look at a chirping hard wired fire alarm - it turns out I put the battery in backwards. Summary: Prompt, professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, and very helpful. I'll call them again when I need electrical help, even if it's not through the home warranty. We discovered MK electric through our home warranty service. Put in a service order at 2pm. MK called less than 2 hours later and set up an appointment for the next afternoon. They kept me informed: emailed an appointment confirmation and then texted me the next day when he was on his way. Jake & his colleague arrived at the very beginning of the 3-hour window we had agreed upon. It's the age of Covid so both gentlemen had masks & were distancing (as best we could in the work area), and were courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. He found the problem with our recessed lighting fixtures that had started flickering & 3 that simply stopped working. A little research quickly revealed the main problem, plus he discovered there was some overheating due to insulation having been piled on the can lights when the previous owners had extra insulation blown into the attic. Everything was working perfectly in under an hour. And on a whim, as long as they were here, I asked about a ceiling fan on which the light worked, but not the fan. (Some electricians won't even look at anything that's not on the original work order.) Took him all of 30 seconds to determine that the problem was the fan direction slide switch on the motor housing. It had been bumped (probably while cleaning) into a "half-way" position, disconnecting the fan. A flick of the switch and we were back in business. He said it was the first thing he checked because "I've seen this before when people use a long wand duster to clean the fan." I'll call them again when I need electrical help, even if it's not through the home warranty. read more

Took them two days to even come out to a "no power" issue, and then they messed up the panel resulting in melted breakers then left never to be seen again. I spoke with the office man who assured me they would get an estimate together to replace the panel and get things rolling. I pretty much gave them carte blanche to do the job. It's been a week since I left two messages, no call backs, no estimates, just a non-working electrical panel. No I would not recommend this company - a company my home warranty company ONEGUARD sent out. If your warranty company schedules them - re-schedule. Or get a different warranty company. read more

I had MK Electric come out to my house earlier this week to do some new wiring for a ceiling fan, change out a dining room light fixture with a ceiling fan, and install a new outlet in my living room. Adam and his partner (didn't get his name) arrived in the given time frame, and even texted ahead of time to say he would be arriving in 20 minutes. They worked very quickly, and communicated with me throughout the process to let me know about any hurdles they ran into, or just giving me options on how they could fix my problems for me. Both guys were super friendly, and professional throughout their afternoon at my house. I was very happy with the work they did, and more importantly, the boss (my wife) was happy as well. I have other electrical projects on the to-do list in the coming months, and MK Electric will be the first company I call to do the work. read more

MK Electric does work under OneGuard Home Warranty. I had a nice sounding fellow call me from MK Electric to inquire about a service order that I had with OneGuard. He called and we spoke for 30 seconds to one minute. He was certain that OneGuard had called him in error, and that they should have contacted a mechanical contractor as his company doesn't work on mechanical aspects of broken equipment, only electrical. But in calling OneGuard, he led them to believe that he had "diagnosed" the issue. He hadn't. He'd only spoken to the homeowner briefly, and the coverage we had on this broken item was cancelled due to his call and the phony "diagnosis" he left with the insurance company. I don't need headaches like this-- I'd find another electrical contractor if I were you. The contractor should be on the side of the end customer, supporting that person and their repair. I guess the big bucks they get from OneGuard put him into that corner and the sneaky way we were dealt with did not leave a positive impression. read more

GREAT service!!!!! This is the second time MK Electric has fixed a problem through OneGuard Home Warranty and I couldn't be more pleased. Brion called within an hour of placing the warranty request and he diagnosed the problem quickly. We made an appointment for the following Friday. Jacob arrived as scheduled and fixed the problem. He had to replace a breaker but examined all the outlets to ensure there wasn't an additional problem. After talking with Brion 2 days prior, it was determined to be a faulty breaker problem but Jacob wanted to make sure. Both Brion and Jacob were very professional, courteous, polite and knowledgeable. It's obvious they know their job!!!! Very pleased!!!!! I wanted to add an interlock kit to my electric panel for a generator. He did not know what that was or what it was for. He tried to make me buy a generac, that I do not want. Then, he told me I needed to replace my whole electric panel. There is nothing wrong with my electricity and there is only mild corrosion in one corner of my box. When I asked why wouldn't I just change out the one neutral bar, he stated, "you can only do that with the newer models. That is not true. In fact, I already have another electrician changing out the one part and stated the rest of my electrical panel is perfectly fine. He asked why would I want to change everything. So, clearly MK electric was trying to take advantage of me. They wanted me to change out my entire panel which costs a couple thousand, instead of replacing a part for a couple hundred. Then on top of it, he made up a lie about it being an older model for the reason why. That does not make any sense. read more
