Got a Traditional Croissant ($5.50). The croissant was buttery. However, it could have been more flakier. I also wanted to try their Country Levain Bread but they did not have a bread slicer machine on premise (I really like uniform sliced bread and my knife skills are horrendous). Service was very friendly and upbeat. They are located in the middle of a residential area. I went on a Saturday around 09:00 and ended up parking about a block away near the school.

Came in to try their coffee. I wasn't sold on the variety they had to offer. Nothing about their coffee stood out that separated them from other coffee shops. I tried their drip coffee and it was okay. I also tried their hojicha coffee and that too was just okay. I wouldn't come back here again.

Ham & Cheese Croissant

The pastries here are incredible. Their kouign amann was the best one that i've ever had, the bottom was perfectly caramelized and the inside so buttery. My favorite was their seasonal squash, mornay, and pumpkin seed gremolata savory danish, it was unique and tasted so good, i wish i could get another one! Another big hit was the cinnamon sugar twist, it kind of reminded me of a way better version of a cinnamon roll haha. The ham and cheese croissant and the garlic herb and cheese scone were also incredible. I'm usually pretty let down by chocolate chip cookies but this one didn't disappoint me at all! Every item i got here was amazing and i will definitely be coming back when i'm in town again.

Hands down one of the best little hole-in-the-wall coffee and bakery spots around! Everything we tried was amazing--you literally can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The cappuccino was perfect, and the barista absolutely crushed it. Pastries are generous (perfect for sharing), and the bread is baked fresh every day. Only tiny downsides are limited parking and not a ton of seating, but honestly it's in such a great walkable neighborhood with a park super close by--ideal for taking the kids afterward and letting them run around after we've had our coffee fix. We'll be back for sure!

If you only get one thing here ... let it be the OG cookie!!!! I try to stay away from sweets as much as I can, but the OG cookie is definitely my weakness. It's perfect every single time and I always buy more than one at a time. Service is friendly. This place is small but has a lot to offer. I haven't tried their coffee yet, but I have had their matcha and it was just ok. Perhaps their coffee is better or maybe they were having an off day. Parking has never been an issue. It is street parking, but I am usually able to find one nearby and right away.

Bottomline - save your gas money and time, and go to Porto's for better taste and price Drove out to try this based on reviews and NPR spot. Very small shop / store front. Parties - Croissant and sticky buns - all $6 or above. Chocolate amount in the croissant was small and lacking. Sticky bun felt overcooked and hard. Appreciate the small shop effort - but not worth the price and drive.

Top left scone (I don't recommend the scone), bottom left fruit/custard pastry, top right croissant, bottom, right chocolate croissant.

Great pastries! Delicious croissants! Skip the scones, they are very dry. Tiny place. Take out only. Worth the wait if there's a line. There was a 5th cinnamon pastry in my box but it accidentally fell in my mouth It was delicious!

Double chocolate muffin

I was near by and in the mood for something chocolatey. I got lucky and pulled up right before they close on Sunday at 2pm. The double chocolate muffin caught my eye. While it's $5.50 and it's not very big. It's mos definitely worth every penny. It's moist, flavorful and airy. Not a bad combo in my opinion. Kinda bummed I only got one. Cute little spot too fyi

I've had plenty of their sweet pastries so I decided to try a savory scone today. The herbs and garlic were so balanced and delicious. The little pockets of cheese made it. The flaky salt on top was just the right touch. I got their salted caramel latte too with oat milk. I've never been disappointed here. As usual everyone was so nice!

Been coming here for years. This cute bakery has great baked goods and coffee. We always grab a burrito next door and coffee pastry from here. Friendliest staff. Last time I was here had the double baked croissant didn't disappoint.

Matcha Latte and Housemade Chai Latte
Zeeshan Q.

Colossus is a small bakery and cafe located in the heart of San Pedro. They offer a great selection of bakery products, coffees, teas, and even breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the chai tea latte, and I have to say it was one of the best ones I've ever had; strong hints of cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg while being nicely sweetened. My friend ordered the matcha latte, which is one of his favorites, and the breakfast sandwich, which is a bit expensive but a great one and done experience. Parking can be tough, but there is street parking available on nearby streets. They're definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Cinnamon Sugar Knot

I don't get what the big deal is about this bakery. The bread and pastries are ok better than market or just the same.

They have brown butter buckwheat cakes that are made with seasonal fruit, but it's important to keep in mind that this is a bakery that makes mostly wheat flour-based products, so cross-contamination is possible.

An excellent neighborhood coffee spot!…read more The Masala Chai Tea is a nice upgrade from the usual Starbucks stuff that you can find on any street in America; it's sweet (but not too sweet!), creamy, and definitely flavorful. If I had to nitpick - I'd note that the cups here are a tad undersized - so the large tea bags take up a substantial portion of the cup (which in turn, throws off the balance/composition of the tea, etc.). If you call to place an order after 8 PM (which I do from time to time), they'll very rarely answer the phone. This, of course, gets in the way of being able to pop in and out for a quick pre-ordered drink. The folks at Hojas should do a better job of staying on top of phone calls - that's Customer Service 101! A little fine-tuning would go a long way here - fixing the cup size issue + upping the consistency with phones would be a big plus. :) PRO TIP: Parking on 6th Street can be a little unforgiving - so try to be courteous with not hogging the spaces in front for too long (there aren't many!)

Okay this might be one of my top coffee spots in the South Bay…read more Parking is a little tricky since it's in a busy plaza, but honestly worth the short walk, it feels like a little corner oasis once you get there. Let's start with the coffee I kept it basic and "healthy" with a sugar-free vanilla latte with oat milk, and WOW... you can truly taste the quality. So smooth, so good. Now the vibe, this place is everything. From the moment you walk up and see the big coffee sign, you already know it's going to be cute. The garden/nature aesthetic is such a moment, and inside it's artsy, calm, and super inviting. They also carry merch from a local artist and I ended up getting the cutest beaded bracelet keychain (couldn't resist). Service was amazing, such a sweet girl took my order, and the guy working was super friendly, chatty, and gave great info about the coffee (and yes, I was influenced to follow them on IG). Definitely recommend, will 100% be back.
