A Cider location worth visiting. One of my sisters came to town and she's not much of a beer girl, but she does love her ciders. So this was our first stop on the journey. From the outside, if you didn't know better in the middle of winter, you would probably think you're in the wrong spot. Once inside, we were warmly greeted and invited to try as we went along. I was amazed that such a place could still have enough business in the hidden away location it's in. That being said, now that I know about it I'd be happy to recommend it to others and go back myself since I'm a bit of a Cider fan. There's a flight for only $8 where you can try a large range of ciders so you'll be able to figure out what you like. I was hoping to take a case home but I can't justify spending almost $60 for one. Tried this place out because I was craving a non-store bought cider and this was the closet location with good reviews near me. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the location and ciders they were selling, location itself was a bit hard to track down being in the middle of a business park but I managed after having to turn around after missing a turn. I opted to try the Classic flight so I could try all the originals in one go, I enjoyed all but the dessert cider which I thought was a bit too syrupy sweet for me and my top favorite would either be the cherry or grasshopper theme cider, no clear winner here for me, but all the others were good as well. Flights never interested me because it was usually at a beer place. But cider? Sign me up! These three were so kind and welcoming, it made me feel good walking in alone. The grass-hoopah is hard to describe, as far as tastes goes. The lemongrass is super prominent and makes for a unique cider taste. The desciudo (correct me if I said it wrong), has to be my favorite. If you like cider, you'll love this place! My hubby and I initially drove right by it because it's tucked away in this storage facility area, but we ended up circling back and finding it. We had two options today : the flight of 8 for $8 or the other flight of 8 for $14 which features some limited releases and visiting cider companies. The Pome Mel was my favorite because it had hints of lemongrass and lavender, but I really liked the Bear Mel too because it was crisp and had the right amount of acidity. The guys behind the bar were friendly and personable but gave us plenty of space, which I appreciated. Last but not least, a group came in with their pig named Penelope! We had a blast at the Cider Fest earlier This summer and decided that a Grp of us should take a chill Saturday and check out the actual place. We got there at opening to meet a group of friends and enjoy their sampling menu. We ordered both the specialty and signature assortment of ciders along with regular orders of the ciders we enjoyed from the sampling. I came here for a Yelp's Winter Kickoff event. I tried a complimentary cherry glider cider as well as a sip of my roomie's lavender, rosemary cider. I enjoyed the cherry cider a lot as it reminded me of my favorite cherry beer Kriek lambic. The rosemary, lavender however reminded me of soap despite my love for lavender tea and ice cream. Its is definitely fragrant and good for those who like herby ciders. The Cider Co. was kind enough to raffle off a beanie and a sweater during the Yelp event (I sadly was not the winner of that raffle). Supercool tap room experience! We stopped in on Saturday afternoon and had a great time sampling all 4 ciders and chatting it up with the proprietors! It was great discussing the cider making history, culture, and business with them. I've been in and out of Colorado Cider since moving to Denver 3 years ago. It's tucked away southwest of the Baker area and at first glance it looks like another warehouse among warehouses. Inside is a small tasting room where very friendly servers will serve you up some of the most delicious and refreshing ciders you'll find around. All of the ciders do a great job of balancing the sweetness that cider naturally has, with some dry characteristics so it doesn't taste like you're sucking down a cavity-in-waiting. My favorites are the PomMel, which is herbacious and flowery, as well as the Cherry Glider Cider, which is the tastier (in my opinion) brother of the regular Glider Cider. Recently when I was in, I was able to sample a new brew that they are trying out and provide some feedback on the taste - what a great way to invest customers in what you're doing. read more

Interesting place to taste the different ciders they have. we did the flight and got 8 2.5 oz pours for $8. My favorites included the grasshoppa (nice lemongrass flavor) and their original glider cider, and my least favorite was their rosemary and lavendar one. They also had a few specialty pours I didn't try, but maybe sometime in the future. The growler didn't seem like a great deal since they charge $50/for the empty 64oz container and it looks like you only save less than $3 every time you fill it. So after 22 fills then you break even? Perhaps I am missing something? I still enjoyed the experience but it was a bit out of the way and am thinking next time I may just drink bottles of their cider from my fridge. :) read more

Colorado Cider made my trip to Denver great! It was GABF week and we went to I don't know how many breweries and drank more beers than I can fathom. Alot of memorable beers but my heart has a weak spot for cider. After all those breweries, Colorado Cider was the only place we went back to twice! Starting with the free samples was a great way to experience the spectrum of Colorado Cider. Loved the Grasshopp-ah, Glliders were both very good - easy drinking refreshing ciders. A few pints later and it still tastes great .. one of the few bottles i carried back from Colorado was the Grasshopp-ah. (oh, and those pretzels are a very good companion to the cider). The tasting room is really part of the cidery, where they make the product. You can see the barrels that they age in and all the machines right there. Kind of neat, and a bit different from how breweries make beer. The owners were great, friendly people and it felt like we could talk about cider all day.. This is one of those places that I will return to every time I am back in Denver, so glad to have found it! read more

I can't say enough good things about Colorado Cider! My sister and I stopped in about a week ago, and had a fantastic afternoon. We were immediately greeted by one of the owners, and took a seat outside. Your visit to Colorado Cider will start with a free sampler of their five offerings - what's extra cool is that they lay them out on a place mat which describes each type. So, by the time you get to the 5th, you still know what's going on. :) From there, you can purchase ciders by the glass, and also get bottles to go. I bought seven or eight bottles to take home, and have given several away as gifts. So far, everyone has loved the cider as much as I did - I'll be back very, very soon for more! Well, I finally made it to Colorado Cider Company for a tasting (it was closed the first time I tried)... and man was I impressed! They had some GREAT ciders. There were some with pear, honey, apples, lemongrass, cherry and even one aged in oak barrels. We did the standard tasting of 8 ciders and I have to say I was totally surprised by what I did like and didn't care for... totally opposite of what I thought based on descriptions. - Glider Cider is you basic cider, a little sweet and delicious! - Glider Cider Dry... same as the first but a little dryer and delicious! - Cherry Glider... same as the first but with cherry juice and delicious! - Grasshop-ah... described with flavors of hops and lemongrass... totally didn't expect to like it. Guess what... it was my favorite! AWESOME!! There were a few that did not work for me... the pear one, the oak barrel aged one and some limited edition one with honey. But, hey you can't love them all. However, the highlight of it all is the Distraction. It is more like a dessert cider/wine... whatever you want to call it. It's sweet, aged in rum barrels, has 14.5 % ABV, goes great in a brandy snifter for a nice after dinner drink and is freaking AWESOME!!! I am feeling like I need to get back and stock up as it is limited release and I only bought one bottle. But not to worry, they have a new version in whiskey barrels coming out next spring! This place has a really fun atmosphere, great ciders for tasting or by the pint (you can also grab bottles to go), a few great snacks to go with your cider and great prices. All of the ciders were great, especially Pome Mel & Grasshop-Ah. The Pome Mel was my favorite with wildflower honey, lavender, and rosemary. Yum! It's a nice little tasting room, pretty cozy and they even have a small patio area. Seriously, whether you are a cider lover or not, this place needs to make it on your top ten list of things to do. From it's quaint, off the beaten path location, to it's awesome little tasting area within the actual brewery, this place is all around awesome. The owners are friendly and personable, and give you a free sample of each of their 4 ciders. They give facts and information about all of them, and when you are done, you can either order a glass to enjoy there, or order a bottle of your favorite to take home, all at a very reasonable price. Oh, and the added bonus? Their ciders are delightful, with my personal favorite being the Grass-hoppa, a lemongrass infused cider, with an amazing crisp refreshing taste. I enjoyed every second at this little diamond in the rough, and the owners even directed us to another little brewery just a hop, skip, and a jump away called Wit's End. While on a visit to colorado, then of my friends and I visit Colorado Cider. It's a strange location in an more industrial area. When we arrived, the staff was very helpful in arranging a few different tables to make on large enough for all eleven of us to sit at. We were able to try seven different ciders that they had on tap. Now, I've tried a lot of different ciders in my time, and I don't lie when I say that I drank the best cider that I've ever had in my life. It's called Pom Mel (kind of a play on French for Apple Honey) and the stuff tastes like lying under an apple tree in a field full of lavender and rosemary while bumble bees gently fly in the background. Seriously. This stuff tastes like an experience. It's SO delicious. The other ciders were delicious (though ol stumpy was not my favorite, but that's just because I'm not into oak flavors). The folks who were working gave us an impromptu tour of the space as well which was awesome. Most of our group purchased a few bottles of cider despite the risk and hassle of transporting them back to the east coast. If you're planning on a Denver brewery crawl, you have to put Colorado Cider on your list! (And try to do it first since it's kind of in a crazy location near Wits End). The facility is pretty small and is only run by 4 people, but the cool thing is that anytime you go, you'll be able to ask a knowledgeable employee all of your burning questions about cider and how it's made. On the Sunday we went, one of the workers gave us a quick tour around their facility and started us off with a free sampler of 6 of their ciders (I think we got a couple ounces of each, at least) and guided us through each of the flavors. I was a fan of their original, the Glider Cider (...ahh, like an adult Juicy Juice box!) but they also had a few cool twists on cider, such as their Mel cider (made with honey and lavender...it tasted like Paris on a spring morning after the rain...whatever that could mean) and their Grasshoppah, which is like a perfect mix between a hoppy ale and a cider. I don't think you can find their ciders outside of Denver yet because they are so new, so swing on by their taproom! I feel like I have had a lot of frustration with this company. First of all their tasting room hours are extremely limited. They are only open on Friday through Sunday. Friday they are open from like 3-6 p.m. Right smack dab in the middle of rush hour in Denver. Yes, I planned to go several hours ahead but you know how slow rush hour can be(I live in Fort Collins). If there is any accident or some kind of significant hold up in turns into rush hours. Friday rush hour is also one of the slowest rush hours during the work week. They are open a bit longer on the weekends but not much. Many people work on weekends these days anyway. Two attempts were made to reach their tasting room before they closed and both were epic fails! I even got in their parking lot but was just a few minutes late and struck out. So I went to their website to see if I could buy the cider at a liquor store but for some reason the website seems to give some kinds of mobile devices trouble and you can't read everything that is written on the site. Grrrrr. I called the Cider place to see if I could talk to someone as to where to get their cider. No one answered. Left a message. No return call. I eventually figured out that they do indeed sell cider at many stores up and down the Front Range under the link 'Find Us' on their website. But the sometimes unfriendly mobile device site acted up and I could not tell where I could go to buy it. I made a guess then and went to the totally awesome Argonaut Liquors to see if they carried their cider and indeed they did. I bought the Grasshoppa cider which has a Lemongrass flavor to it. Definitely unique. I was hoping though that the cider would have more complexity in taste, making a nice balance between appley cider and Lemongrass but it seemed to fall short of that. In the end the cider was more or less decent but what a hassle to go to where they make it! I love love love the delicious Pome Mel with its lavender and rosemary hints, and also the Cherry Cider, which is perfectly balanced with tart, sweet, and crisp qualities. The ladies pouring were very helpful answering questions I had, and provided delightful little snippets of information about the ciders. Stopped by here after a trip to Wit's End brewery across the street. Such a great place to check out, with their delicious cider offerings and friendly staff. Huge bonus that their tastings are free, which you get to try 4 different ciders. I love their original Glider Cider... a pretty perfect cider, IMO. The dry Glider was also very good, but I liked the regular one better. If you haven't tried to the Grasshop-ah, you definitely need to. It is unlike any cider or beer I've ever had. My friend described it well, by saying it tasted like a cross between herbal tea and cider. It's so hard to explain, that you just need to try it yourself. The space is pretty industrial, but they have a great deck/patio that will be awesome this summer. I'm excited to have this place so close to home, and will definitely be coming back on a warm summer day for some nice cold and refreshing cider. read more
