Made a born day reservation here for 4 and wised it weren't rainy and cold. The views here, despite the dark clouds, were lovely. So much outdoor space that we will definitely make the drive back on a cool, sunny day. We sat at a massive table that could easily seat a party of 10. Maybe they use these as community tables when they're busy. Either way, it was quite spacious! We ordered ciders and the parents ordered one of their flights to taste some of their traditional ciders. I immediately set down the Blueberry Lime. In love. With ciders, is there really ever a bad one? I think not, lol. The food was amazing as well. It looked scrumptious - presentation was fabulous. Cooked to order but we didn't wait too long. We tried their cactus appetizer which reminded me of grilled onions - tasty. Burgers were on the menu for us. And I loved their salad. So very fresh. Stem uses local sources for their fresh ingredients and it really makes all the difference. My partner had the chicken fried cheeseburger and would have liked more flavor. The breading became soft fast and didn't stand a chance with the gravy, making it a soggy mess. My Fuego, on the other hand, was great (GF CRISPY CHICKEN, FUEGO PICKLES, JALAPENO SLAW, HABANERO JACK, SPICY AIOLI). It was huge but packed well. Our servers were great and checked on us often. Kept hearing about this place, so finally decided to go. It's a great atmosphere with lots of options and a full kitchen. They were slammed and very busy, but our server was fantastic. We got two flights and shared and honestly, I didn't really like any of those sliders except one, blueberry. I thought they were really expensive. We just got two flights and some cider donuts and I think it was $60. That's absurd. The bathroom situation is so dumb. The place is enormous and there's two stalls in the women's bathroom. There was a pretty long line which was not fun. The bourbon barrel aged Banjo: Old fashioned cider was a great choice! Loved the depth of flavor and light sweetness. They had about a 20min wait for a table for 2 on a Saturday evening but plenty of bar seating so we went with that. The bar is full service and spacious so that was perfectly fine to get a drink and food. Great open vibes for a small or large group (but you'll probably need a resy). We also loved the food we got, splitting the bison shoulder and Brussels sprouts. The bison was cooked perfectly. I'd order both items again but also curious to try other menu items next time. Amazing hilltop wide open space with inside and a huge outside seating area as well as an area for families. Perhaps the best "space" in northern colorado. You 100% need a reservation as it has been packed every time I've been - parking extends down the street for a LONG way. Drinks - to be expected, are great - great selection of ciders and craft brews - literally something for everyone. Quick note - VERY irritating that they do not have any sweeteners for iced tea (nothing without sugar) - seemed irritated I asked. So if you are diabetic - its water for you - you are an outcast. Pretzels app is very nice - and came almost immediately - beer cheese was on point - but $12+ for three small pretzel sticks was robbery. Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich (4 at the table got it) - was great - came with a big pile of fries and was tender. Chicken Bacon Ranch SALAD - was not - it was basically the same price as the Sandwich (which comes with fries and the bun and all) - but was not tossed, didnt have anything but the basics, and had to ask for the dressing twice. Again felt like it was way too expensive compared to the sandwich and fries. Table of 6 with one app and 5 had alcoholic drinks - tab was $250... Amazing location and views!! What a gorgeous setting to enjoy an absolutely beautiful July evening. Had a reservation for 10, and we were split between two picnic tables on the outside covered area of the deck, which was fine with us. The service was attentive, and they were accommodating to my 6 year old's requests. The food was delicious!! The pretzel appetizer was dangerous, as you could definitely fill up too quickly if you're not careful! Everyone raved about the Brussels app, but I didn't try because they had bacon in them. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was so good, I could believe the fried chicken was gluten free. (They also have a lot of gf options for those in need!) The sandwich was the perfect amount of heat (though I removed the pickles as I don't prefer them on my chix sandos). The fries were formidable as well. This had to be the BEST fdrink place I visited while in my trip. We went on a Saturday evening last time and this time on a weekday and it was packed so reservations for inside is recommended. We decided to stay at the patio and enjoy some beers while enjoying the weather and looking at the sunset. The whole experience was a vibe. I truly recommend this place because it was beautiful and the beers were delicious. The hibiscus was my favorite and the peach was a close second. I would definitely be back. read more

This place was all around amazing! Views of the surrounding mountains were spectacular and it was so nice to sit outside and enjoy. Our server was excellent and cam by often to offer refills and take additional drink orders. We all ordered cider flights and everything we tried was very good. For food, we shared the brussel sprouts, truffle fries, and the caramelized onion dip. It was hard to decide what the favorite was. This place is pretty neat. The food was okay, nothing to write home about - but certainly good. I had the Lafayette Cheese Steak. The bread could have been toasted a bit more so it wouldn't have been so soggy. Alternatively the fillings could have been less wet. Not sure what the real issue was here, but soggy wet bread is not ideal. It did taste good though, the horseradish aioli was so good. Girlfriend got the burger and she liked it. She requested medium and got it a that way. I took a bite and did enjoy it. It wasn't anything special, but it sure was good. We both opted for a salad as well, and by George do they have a tasty Caesar. I would come back just for the salad. The drinks though, that is why you come here. I got the Hard Mango Lemonade and it was superb. Super good and tasty and exactly what I needed with my meal. Beautiful location for a cider flight! It was crowded, so if you can make a reservation, I would. The wait was around an hour, but the outside tables to enjoy a drink while you wait was perfection. I saw this on my social media timeline as a perfect fall activity for the past couple years and I finally decided that this year was the year that I was going to indulge. I drove 40 minutes up to Lafayette; they had opened within the last hour, so it was not very busy. Thankfully, the temperature was pretty mild so I decided to do some seating outside with a great view of the mountains. I chose the cider flight with sweet ciders including the blueberry lime, harvest peach, I cannot recall the two others. I was a bit disappointed with these, they weren't all that sweet. The flavors for all of them were pretty mild, they ranked three out of four on the sweetness scale, but they didn't have any ciders that ranked 4 out of 4 for sweetness. I chose the pretzels for the appetizer and the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The pretzels were pretty good. I enjoyed the saltiness and fluffiness of them. The cheese, however, was pretty thin. The fries that came with my sandwich were salty and crispy perfections, and the sandwich itself was really tasty but could have used more ranch. My biggest issue was the bees or wasps. Every few seconds I was shooing a bee away from me. Not unlike the usual stay still and they'll leave you alone, they were in my face wanting to land on my clothes and one landed in my last glass of cider so I wasn't able to finish. At that point I finally grabbed my plate of food and came inside and explained to them what was going on. My server was nice, but towards like the mid to the ending of me finishing up my meal she was nowhere to be found. I had to cash my bill out with someone who was at the bar. They were trying to charge me for the fourth glass of cider, and I had to clarify about the fact that the bug flew in my drink after being tormented by them, which was the reason I came inside. Keely, offered to get me another one of the ciders that I had but honestly, since I wasn't a huge fan of any of the ciders I just told her it was fine. She was nice enough to take the fourth cider off of my bill. To be clear my wife and I are not into ciders that much. We are more beer and wine people but Stem was a great experience. Recommend getting a tasting flight. The Real Dry was the most straight up crisp apple focused cider. For something very different check out the Whiskey Sour. This cider is aged in Laws, Woodford, and Weller bourbon barrels. Then add citrus juice, a bit of sugar, meyer lemon zest and apple brandy bitters. Slightly spicy/smoky flavors with caramel notes and lemon. Lots of good food options but I recommend the cider donuts to pair. Our family had a great time and enjoyed the views, food and ciders. What irritated me was when the bill arrived and 4% was added for "Operations Fee". Colorado House Bill 24-1151 was passed on March 25, 2024 that basicilly stated it must be stated on the menu and website that these charges must be notified to the customer. I have checked their website and I have not seen anywhere that no such listing is posted. Plus, they should just add these costs into food / liquor costs and stop upsetting the customer, period. Or do they pay their back of the house emplyees less as "tipped employees" at a lower payrate. Makes you kind of wonder, hmmm. read more

Friendly staff, great food, and more cider varieties than I could dream of. I was there for a private event that took over most of the back deck with a couple of long tables in the adjoining covered area. While I have enjoyed Stem ciders at home and in restaurants, I hadn't ventured to Lafayette to where they're made. The location is beautiful with lots of outdoor activities including a kids playground, adult games, and chairs placed strategically to just look out at the mountains. They have a food truck that serves lobster rolls and mufflettas and lots of picnic tables. The inside has lots of seating as well. I can see this as being a great place to come for a meal and then spending a couple of hours enjoying the cider (they also have a pilsner called Howdy) outside. Made my way to the Stem Cidery on Friday night. It was as busy as the first rodeo of the season. I sat my bottom on a sturdy wooden bench (looked like a fine lacquered cedar) and ordered myself a 16oz cider which was some kind of French named concoction I recall. It was good. It tasted like the someone put some hooch into the youngins applejuice. Surprisingly dry and tasted like home. Mighty fine views and feelings, if you can get past the urban folk crowdin the place to high hell. Lots of those folks need some fresh air and tall grass. Honestly, I had higher hopes for this place. We traveled a very long way to try it based on their gluten-free ciders and food. We tried calling before arriving but no one answered. We decided to give it a shot anyway and drove out there despite being unable to reach anyone. It is kind of out in the middle of nowhere so not really that great of a location. The parking is also somewhat limited. When we entered, the hostess just stared blankly at us. No welcome, no hello. It was weird. I explained that there were two of us and that this was our first visit! Again no friendliness or anything from the hostess. She offered us a seat at the bar and we took it since it was the only thing available. There were three bartenders behind the bar but it took them like ten minutes just to give us waters. We decided to start with the dry cider flight. I found the ciders to be a little bland. They tasted watery, which was weird. I am all for a light and refreshing cider but these were just thin and not very flavorful. The menu had a few gluten free options but actually most of the menu items contained gluten. We ordered the "frites"and gluten-free cider doughnuts. The fries were over-salted and could've used some other seasoning or herb. Kind of boring. The doughnuts just tasted like a muffin in the shape of a ring instead of an actual doughnut. The texture just wasn't right. The maple whip that came with the doughnuts was yummy but the stretchy, glue-like consistency made it difficult to dip in. Although I wasn't blown away by the food or drink, I still probably would've given this a higher rating and another visit in the future. However the service just isn't good enough to justify it. Came for the cider and stayed for the views! Located out on a hilltop in Lafayette, it is a little bit of a trip from Denver, but definitely worth the drive, especially on a beautiful day. The barn-like building, big lawn, Adirondack chairs, fire pits, and views of the mountains are enough to make you want to spend the day here, and I definitely have. The cider selection is far more interesting and expansive than the offerings at the RiNo location and samplers allow you to try out some of the more interesting flavors like chili guava. On a chilly day you can opt for one of the warm beverages like the butter cider and on warmer days, go for the cider slushies. It can get pretty overrun with families and children, especially on weekends, but you can usually find a spot to post up, especially if you choose outside. As someone who is not a fan of screaming children, I can honestly say there is enough space and varied seating options to avoid the family madness and still have a nice time. My biggest complaint here is the food. I have never been blown away by anything other than the cider donuts. The burgers are nothing special and the other food portions are small given the price. I'd love to see more quick affordable bites and snacks geared towards snacking and drinking. I have yet to come here for one of their farm to table dinners but it's definitely on the list. All in all, go for the views and the atmosphere, not the food. read more

Me and my girlfriend have been here before. We decided to take out our Harleys and ride over to stem (the long scenic route)! When we arrived we got seated promptly so no waiting which was nice. The place was hustling and bustling which always makes it feel warmer more lively. We ordered flights and they were both tasty (the la chene wasn't tasty sadly) but the salted cucumber was very tasty! We ordered the warm olives and the brine on them was nice and salty but not overbearing. The warm pretzels with cider cheese sauce hit some solid levels. I have been going here for a few years. It is my go to for out of town visitors. Lately they have been missing the mark. First, we had a reservation for 7 people and they gave a table for 6 outside and then said we could split out and put people at the second table behind us. That is really not great for conversations and a good dining experience. Second the food was mediocre at best. The chicken sandwich was tough and basically inedible. I didn't eat it there because we were so crowded at the table that I just wasn't comfortable trying to cut it The Brussel sprouts were tasty but drenched in oil. Donuts were good. This is not a cheap place to eat and add kitchen percentage to your bill, which I am not oppose to but let us have a memorable dining experience. They are fortunate that the location, location, location ; which pretty much controls itself and sunsets are very consistent in Colorado. read more

Really good ciders and guest beers. Fantastic views and seating. However, this place potentially has the worst beverage order process I've ever seen for anyone in the beer garden. Completely Inefficient. You could have at least 2 maybe 3 bartenders running drinks and checking folks out, but no, it's only one person who leaves the window for substantial periods of time that another bartender could jump in. The actual physical structure of the outside window creates a bottleneck as well as it's only big enough for one person to take an order at a time. So even if they had another bartender, they'd have to take turns taking orders as there are no opportunities to do anything in parallel. Super frustrating waiting 20 minutes for a pint when there is more than enough staff and opportunity to fix this problem. Holy cuteness! This place is a true diamond in the industrial rough in that you have to drive through an industrial park to arrive at this hilltop establishment. With a VERY spacious dining room and patio, this place is absolutely adorable. They offer a full farm to table menu in addition to cider flights, cider slushies and delicious cider donuts. Outside there are gorgeous mountain views and a very large fire pit with nice lawn chairs. Of course, masks are required, reservations are available and they have a really cute walk-up window to get some food to-go. Their POS system allows for really fast and great service and the servers were all very nice and knowledgable. Definitely recommend stopping in. read more
