How lucky to spot Cerebral Brewing right in front of me on Colfax. I was even luckier to find free street parking right out front and open seating at the bar. The beertender was very personable and informative when I had questions about the craft brews. He recommended the Rare Trait Week Flight of Tiny Trait (Hazy IPA), Dank Trait (West Coast), Galaxy DDH (Hazy) and Mango Terpene (Hazy). They were all quite tasty and came on a flight tasting board in beakers. Nice and cerebral, huh? What a cool venue. Cheluna Brewing is located inside of Aurora's crown jewel, Stanley Marketplace. They're situated indoors near the west entrance in between Stanley Beer Hall and Sweet Cow. Owned by a lovely husband and wife duo, this place has become a fixture of Stanley Marketplace over the years. One of the best parts is that you can take your beer outdoors or even roam around the rest of the market with it. In turn, I think this what the only "downside" of Cheluna is; the fact that I've never sat inside the tasting room for a beer. It always feel a bit transactional because we take our beers and run, if you will. My go to's are the kolsch, cold IPA (GABF silver), and Mexican lager. The latter they serve with a lime and it's delightful. I'm really glad Cheluna is still kicking after a damn near decade in operation. They're definitely one of the most consistent options in the entire market. Support family owned spots, especially breweries, they need us right now!

To start, the place smells amazing via the aroma of fresh bbq when you walk in the door... Instantly makes you hungry. They have a rotating lineup of food trucks which is posted on their website under events. I went with their Mexican Lager Day Game (#1) and their Og (#2) Saison. Both delicious, crisp and refreshing. The interior is bright and nicely painted. The server was polite and attentive. I will definitely stop back if I happen to be staying nearby in the future.

I did not get sick or anything, but my cousin said the same thing when I gave her a piece. It didn't taste odd but there was nothing special about it. None of the meats had a smoke flavor to them. The brisket was dry as my skin in the winter. My cousin ordered the Texas twinkie and it was hard as a rock. The potato salad is straight up nasty. I don't know for sure, but I do not think the food is cooked at the restaurant and perhaps microwaves are used to reheat the precooked food. Service (4 stars) Bartender was extremely patient while waiting to take our order. Recommended one of the in-house beers. Atmosphere (4 stars) Seems like they have a decent local following. I would go back and sit at the bar and enjoy a beer. But never going back for a meal. Cleanliness (3 stars) Bathrooms are not clean.
