No sane person ever goes…read morearound saying they actually enjoy brazilian waxes, but most people wouldn't object to feeling silky and smooth! Living up to their namesake, that's exactly what your nether region will feel like after a wax at Smooth as Silk. Groupon brought me here. I've had the opportunity to try many waxing places because of it. Most estheticians I've gone to are usually independent and rent a space inside a salon building, but Smooth as Silk is actually a standalone waxing studio. And a beautifully decorated one at that -- reclaimed wood paneling and decor that made for a warm welcome. They even offer bottled water while waiting. A cleansing wipe is provided beforehand and a sheet drape for modesty after undressing. Tori did my wax. She was casual and friendly and turns out she's also the owner. So it goes without saying that I experienced a thorough wax. I'm bad at maintaining my brazilian schedule so it was as if it was my first time waxing, but it wasn't as painful as I anticipated. Thanks! I have a few favorite waxing places in town and this will definitely be added to the list. Their regular price for brazilian wax is $50 which is usually the average to comparable studios.

I have been a loyal customer of this salon for quite some time and have always enjoyed my visits. However, my recent experience was deeply disappointing. My regular nail technician, Laurie, was on vacation, and unfortunately, the service I received in her absence was unacceptable. Upon arriving, I was asked to wait 10 minutes, which I didn't mind. However, when the technician finally approached me, she did so with an attitude that immediately made me uncomfortable. When I explained the service I wanted, she rolled her eyes and dismissively stated, "I don't have time for that!" Instead of offering alternatives or a professional explanation, she simply told me to sit down, implying she would only do a basic service. This interaction was not only unprofessional but also humiliating, especially as it took place in front of other customers. I invest a significant amount of money in my manicures and pedicures, always tipping generously because I appreciate and respect hard work. However, I refuse to continue supporting a business where I am treated as an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. I have previously recommended this salon to friends and family, but after this experience, I can no longer do so in good conscience. I came in expecting a relaxing and enjoyable service, but instead, I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. No customer should ever be made to feel this way. read more

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this nail salon, and I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and spoke English, which made communication easy and pleasant. The salon itself was clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable environment for a pampering session. I opted for a pedicure, and I was delighted with the results. The technician Lilly paid great attention to detail, ensuring that every step of the process was done to perfection. The pedicure was not only expertly done but also incredibly affordable at just $35, which is a fantastic value for such high-quality service. Overall, my experience at this nail salon exceeded my expectations. The combination of friendly staff, excellent service, and reasonable prices makes it a standout choice. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a top-notch nail care experience without breaking the bank. read more

On May 21st, I came in for a full set and a pedicure before leaving for a trip. During my appointment, I noticed the shape of my nails looked uneven and mentioned it several times. I was told they looked fine, despite the fact that each nail appeared to be a different shape and size. I also requested regular polish on my toes but gel polish was started instead. When I pointed out my concerns again, I was told only one nail was an issue and that there wasn't enough time to fix the rest. I decided to leave and move on, but the very next day my pinky nail snapped in half while I was simply cooking and opening a cabinet. Because I was leaving town that day, I returned right when the salon opened. I was initially told to come back the next day, which wasn't possible, and then was asked to return an hour later. When I came back, the broken nail was repaired, but it was noticeably thicker than the others. I also pointed out again that several nails were uneven and that one thumb wasn't fully painted. I was told the manager was on vacation, but that when I returned from my trip the set would be redone at no cost since the issues were the salon's mistake. After returning from vacation, I called to schedule the promised correction. Unfortunately, I was met with a rude response, was told there was nothing they could do, and that I should have had the nails fixed before leaving--even though I had already attempted to do exactly that and had been assured they would be redone when I returned. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What disappointed me most was not the initial service, but the lack of consistency, accountability, and customer service after I repeatedly tried to address the issues. I truly wanted to give the salon the opportunity to make things right, but unfortunately that never happened.
