Great little coffee spot. Latte is awesome. Not much seating, but WiFi is strong, and free.

Great but small, neighborhood coffee shop. We are blessed in OTR with several and I stop here whenever it's en route. A fun collection of pocket junk is collecting by the cash register as well. read more

Awesome coffee. Not a ton of seating, but the staff is super friendly. There is plenty of parking around the area as well.

Cincinnati finally gets a coffee shop worth visiting! The staff are very knowledgeable and operate their brewing equipment with expertise. The simple interior is very inviting, the counter tops made of reclaimed barn wood. Very nice. Collective Espresso selects its coffee in a way I haven't seen before. Instead of carrying beans exclusively from a single roastery, they rotate out beans from roasteries all over the country. I've never been exposed to so many new roasteries before this shop opened! The only two improvements I see they could make--and I'm picking nits here--is more comfortable seating and longer store hours. Other than that, this place is my new home away from home. read more

Collective Espresso - The best espresso I've ever had - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

The best pour over * I've had in Cincinnati. Espresso also quite good. I find prices on the high side, but not exorbitant, so far as I can tell, the coffee itself is the best you can find in Cincinnati, they know it, but they are moderate about charging for it. * technically the only pour over I've had in Cincinnati, but compares quite well with what I've had in San Francisco and Arlington,Texas. read more

Joel was so awesome. His mocha lattes ROCK THE BOAT. Perfect rainy day treat. Come see him 6 days a week because it's gonna be really good!!! read more

This is the best coffee shop in Cincinnati. It could really be left there, but that wouldn't be any help to those who take a bit more convincing. When you walk in the shop, it immediately becomes obvious that these guys know what they're doing. The design is clean and simple; they have a Strada (!!!), top-tier grinders, and the requisite Hario/Chemex setup. Basically, this is the type of artisanal/third wave coffee shop that only a couple of years ago one exclusively found in the likes of Portland, San Fran, or New York. Long the wait has been, but what a joy it is to have our own great coffee shop. Milk is sourced locally -- from the always great Snowville Creamery, and the beans come from Deeper Roots & Quills plus a number of first rate national roasters. The pour overs are killer and the espresso shots are great, but the milk could frequently stand to be a bit cooler (that's only if you're getting truly nit-picky, though). All this, and the people working there couldn't be more friendly and inviting. Collective Espresso is doing it right. read more

Great place to get a pour over or good espresso in Cincinnati. Small space in an up and coming part of the city. I had an Ethiopian pour over that was well worth the wait and a lemon poppy seed scone that was excellent. Seating at the bar or a few tables in the front of the space. If you are in downtown Cincinnati and are in news of a quality coffee experience look no further. read more

Collective Espresso - Enjoying a lemon poppy seed scone and a pour over at the bar...great way to start a Saturday. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

I wasn't sure if Cincinnati was ready for this specific coffee culture, because although the coffee scene in this city is much more impressive than I had imagined, Collective Espresso kind of takes it to a whole 'nother level. All coffee is made-to-order, commonly using either the Hario or Chemex brewing methods. This is not your standard grab-and-go, so I do think it's a little ironic that they don't have a whole lot of seating. With that in mind, I think what Collective is trying to achieve is that intimate, "enjoy your coffee like you're supposed to" vibe with their bar-and-stool table tops. These guys are super knowledgable about their coffee, so ask them what's available for the day, and the story behind the source of their beans, brewing methods, or their innovative urge to bring Collective to Cincinnati. Yes, they have lattes and teas for everyone else. A few pastries. Expect a standard cup of black coffee to be fresh, pure, with a lack of bitterness, and no less than $3.00. Pricey for "coffee," but well worth it if you know how to enjoy the morning brew. read more

#1 Best Espresso in Cincy. Must Try! If you're from out of town or live in Cincy and havn't gone yet then this needs to be one of your first stops if you just want an espresso based beverage. I have other coffee shops where I love their drip coffee and I have my favorite coffee shop to go and get work done and just relax. I'll review them later, but if you want the best tasting espresso beverage then this is your place. Athmosphere: Simple. I don't know how really to explain it. Couple seats at a bar and two little high top tables up front. I like it and if I just have computer work to get done and don't need to be on the phone making any calls then I'll chill for an hour and drink my beverage and get some work done. But, in the summer time I enjoy their hidden little outside area and will relax a little longer and "force" people to meet me here for meetings. lol Pros: Any and all Espresso Drinks. They use legit bottle milk from up north ohio. Cons: None, keep killing it Collective! Must Try Items: My go to is their Cortado. Their Capp is solid and their Latte is great as well (But, I mean if you're the type that needs that much milk then do you truly enjoy drinking espresso or do you like drinking milk.) Either way its still better than the other coffee shops around. Cost: Same price as every other coffee shop. If you need to walk a couple extra blocks to get here from what ever other coffee shop you googled then just walk it. It's worth it. read more

Best coffee in OTR. Simple menu, small place and just coffee (some baked goods) I highly recommend the Cortado. Its always a treat to stop by and get my morning coffee before heading out to the park for a walk. read more

It's a little hard to find, but it's worth searching for. Great coffee and espresso, and a few baked goods. It's for people who just want great coffee, and none of the fufu drinks. They have limited seating, but on a nice day they have a great patio. The baristas know what they're doing, are friendly and happy to help explain their latest coffees. It's a hidden gem in an up-and-coming part of Northside. read more

I will start by confirming what all the other reviews say - best coffee hands down in Cincinnati. I am not a snobby coffee drinker but their coffee is the best. They have a relatively simple menu (you will not find a Raspberry flavored mocha cappuccino with whipped cream on top here). But their drip coffee, espresso, and latte (the 3 things I have had) are amazing. As a side note, my fiance is not a big coffee drinker but when she had the first sip of her latte with soy milk her eyes lit up and she said this is amazing. Parking is not that easy (especially since it's on a little side street). Definitely worth checking out once and then coming back many times again. read more

Hidden down the block from the rest of OTR sits this espresso shop. I say espresso rather than coffee simply because they hold a stronger espresso menu. Lattes, macchiatos, cortados, as well as pour over coffee and drip is on the menu. It's an adorable space, but doesn't actually HAVE a lot of space inside. They have 2 sides of the bar that you can sit, with two little tables to snag, if you're lucky. My soy latte was wonderful, and my friend's cortado was delicious as well! However, the espresso is so strong it did leave us both pretty jittery, so stay hydrated! They stick to the craft of espresso, with no crazy flavors (sorry, vanilla white-mocha latte classic "white girl"). If you're wanting a solid latte, stop on in! read more

Collective Espresso is on par with my favorite coffee spots in Seattle and New York. I had an amazing Guatemalan pourover, second in quality only to the friendly service from the barista that made it for me. Lovely spot and I'd highly suggest it! read more

I recently moved to Cincinnati from Las Vegas and always loved to try out unique coffee houses. It was well worth the stop and I'll definitely go back!! read more

This morning I was hungover and longing for an espresso lemonade, but I'd hafta get on a plane for that fix so I'm writing a review instead. It's slightly uncanny, almost an umami beverage, but so satisfying. read more

I don't know how this place isn't more busy! Pretty sure they have the best espresso I've ever had! Plus it comes with a side of sparkling water to help cut the taste if you need, but I find their espresso so smooth and tasty it's not even necessary. This is a great place to get work done with free wifi. read more

It's a COFFEE Bar, sits like a bar, looks like a bar...smells like a coffee shop. Tastes like Espresso., a couple of ladies in the corner talking in French, so you know its LEGIT. (right?) My wife didn't like my mocha, because it tasted like COFFEE (what does she know? she married me...) Well, I like the coffee taste, will have to do an espresso soon, great prices, good guys, nice spot just down the side street from MOTR. read more

Great coffee. Great guys. They take their craft very seriously and you can taste it. One if the few places in town that correctly prepares espresso drinks. Highly recommended. read more

I ordered an iced mocha on a hot Saturday afternoon, and the service was fast and friendly. Even though I bastardized their coffee by asking for chocolate in it, you could still tell that the coffee was delicious and clearly made by skilled craftsmen. The decor was simple and chic, though there isn't much in the way of seating. I would definitely come back again. read more

Nice guys, delicious drinks. It's an easy in-and-out drink, when I'm headed to class or work. I'd love to hang out and sit down to work one day, but the bar is usually full of people. Oh, well. One of these days. read more

Some of the best coffee I've had. I got the shot of espresso, and a americano. It was one of the best shots of espresso I've ever had.

Amazing Cortado. Very personal atmosphere. They are completely open for customers to watch the coffee process closely. It almost felt like a mini production. I've had espresso from many coffee shops, and this was absolutely fantastic. Top notch quality. read more

Best coffee I've ever had,,,nicely tucked away "true little hometown coffee shop with a twist of Colorado" feel.

When I pass through or visit Cincinnati from Indianapolis I always stop here. Great spot and great look. They use Deeper Roots and Quills coffee from what I have seen. Always a good cup. read more

I honestly was not blown away by this place. For starters, it's quite small. There's only about 10 chairs inside (4 on either side of a bar type area and a table for 2 in a corner), and about as many outside. The coffee selection is also quite limited, particularly compared to Coffee Emporium and 1215 Wine Bar and Coffee Lab. The only real plus is faster Wifi than either of those other locations. Unless you've got serious computer work to do, do yourself a favor and go to one of those other two locations in OTR. read more

This is one of the best hidden gems of Cincinnati. Not only do you get a great cup of coffee but you get a story behind the brew as well!

I've been to many "third wave" coffee establishments throughout the United States, including Blue Bottle, Intelligentsia, etc. Cincinnati is joining the bandwagon and Collective Espresso does it well. Simple menu, minimal retail, just enough seating space, and coffees from a local roaster, Deeper Roots Coffee. The Over-the-Rhine neighborhood has come a long way from what I remember it was when I first visited this city in 2007. Great neighborhood coffee joint! read more

Stopped in on a Sunday morning. The shop is very small and simple - which can be a good thing. I ordered two lattes. They had simple syrup available on the counter to sweeten your drinks - a nice touch. It's very bare bones - no vanilla flavor shots here. The baristas were nice and they had a few pastries out, including some great chocolate chip cookies with sea salt. It won't become my go-to but it was a quick fix and very quick at that! read more

It's quiet and lovely inside unlike most coffee shops in the area that have lots newspapers which clutter up the shop. And the Barista's definitely add to the experience because they are genuine. Yes, if you like your coffee I certainly recommend Collective Espresso and say, "Hello to Dave." read more
