Super friendly staff and their chili is amazing! Great cornbread to accompany it! Looking forward to next week's menu.

Haven't been to Two Drummers in a few years, Toano is a little farther for our dining pleasures…read more Stop in to have some dinner and see some live music on a Saturday evening. Arrived around 6pm and there was quite the line at the front door, so we joined some friends who had room at their fire pit table in the patio. This place was extremely busy and had a-lot of large groups if +8 ( and our arrival time was a bit later than we prefer). We sat for a bit and I decided to go to the bar for a few cold ones and wait out the food service on the patio. A young lady (staff member) named Allysa(?) saw me struggling to get attention of the bar service after waiting 10-15 minutes or so. Allysa came over and asked me if I needed help, i said looking for a few cold drinks and waiting for service on the patio. She was apologetic on the wait and kindly asked me if I like to wait on the patio and she would have someone come right out. Five minutes later, Allysa came to us on the patio, again apologized for the wait and said she would kindly serve us, the normal server was slammed. Which turns out, Allysa was absolutely slammed as well. She took our drink order and delivered rather quickly and then patiently took our food order and was very helpful with our questions on the menu. You tell she was overwhelmed with patrons, but she hid it well and Allysa was very kind and patient as well. Thank You Allysa...your 5 star service was amazeballs! We ordered from the alacarte section of the menu and the food was very good...I'd say 4.5 stars...sorry no pics this time. We had the brisket, portabella mushroom, smoked chicken and 1/3 rib, with mac n cheese and coleslaw and we shared our order. Though the entire evening Allysa continued to impress us with her "above" 5 star service, Thank You so much Allysa.

High quality food and service!…read more We stopped in for lunch and were warmly greeted by Mr. Dwight. He welcomed us and explained the specials and the menu. There are a lot of different choices. The beef brisket sandwich was tasty ,tender and plentiful as was the pulled pork sandwich. The restaurant is cute, small, and clean . The staff is friendly polite and efficient. I will be stoping back soon for one of their hand-crafted milkshakes. I highly recommend Q Daddy's

Meal took quite a while to arrive (10 minutes after ordering). All chicken tenders were served nearly black. Very hard pieces and overly salted. Ranch was ok, awesome sauce was ok, but it's just bbq with honey mustard. Wanted to use the sweet and spicy sauce but there was no spice whatsoever. Original 49 sauce tasted off. Cheesy potatoes were just huge pieces of potatoes with corn flakes over it and covered in oil/grease. Couldn't have proved it ever saw a shred of cheese. Had no interest in even eating 1/4 of it. Feel like I've hit my grease limit for the week after it. Fries and Mac & cheese were ok, husband enjoyed the pork sandwich but chose not to eat the bun since it seemed stale and overcooked altogether. The bathrooms are out back, thankfully it wasn't raining when we needed them. The whole bathroom was moist from a recent mopping, floor was soaked and slick. The music was loud praise music, something we find rightfully unsettling. Felt like we walked into a church or conservative rally instead of a roadside bbq pit. Living 3 hours away otw home from a trip we can thankfully mark this off the list of ever visiting again. Do not recommend.

Backwoodz BBQ Restaurant -- 400 W Williamsburg Rd, Sandston, VA 23150, right across from Richmond…read moreInternational Airport I had the pleasure of visiting Backwoodz BBQ Restaurant last weekend with my wife, her two brothers, my father-in-law, and my nephew, and I can honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. Let me start with the most important part: THE FOOD! I ordered The Whiting Fish Plate with two sides and cornbread, and the fish, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread were amazing. My father-in-law also had the fish and couldn't believe how much food was on his plate. My wife's brothers got the brisket and absolutely loved the flavor of the barbecue. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and you definitely won't leave wondering where your money went. And then there's the atmosphere. From the moment we walked through the door, the hostess was incredibly welcoming. It felt genuine, and that kind of hospitality is something you don't encounter nearly as often as you should. There was also a gentleman there who was basically a one-man show. He was extremely talented, both musically and vocally. He sang all of the classic songs, and we almost couldn't eat because we were too busy singing along with him! It really added something special to the experience. The restaurant was also extremely clean, comfortable, and had a welcoming, almost home-like feeling. Another thing that really stood out to me was the owner coming out to check on us and ask how everything was. After tasting that food, I didn't even need to say much. I think the look on my face said everything. That was the look of pure satisfaction! He actually sat down with our family, and we got the opportunity to ask him questions about his history with food, where he got his influences, and what gave him the desire to cook. He also let us know that since we were from North Carolina, if he was catering an event, he could make whatever style of barbecue his clients desired. That's some real culinary skill. Being able to adapt your barbecue to what your customers want says a lot about your experience and knowledge of the craft. But what impressed me even more was watching him take the time to talk with my nephew and mentor him on some business questions he had. That really stood out to me. It wasn't just about serving us food. He took an interest in our family and was willing to share some of his knowledge and experience. I was truly impressed with the entire interaction. Overall, Backwoodz BBQ Restaurant is a restaurant I would absolutely recommend. Great food, generous portions, welcoming service, a unique atmosphere, live music, and an owner who genuinely seems to care about his customers. We came in to try something new, and we left already talking about what we're going to try next time. If you're in Sandston or the Richmond, VA area, especially if you're coming through Richmond International Airport, I highly recommend giving Backwoodz BBQ Restaurant a try. You won't just be getting a meal. You'll get an experience.

Tastes like somebody smoked and cooked the meat, in the "backwoods" behind someone's house. Had the Brisket dinner, with cold slaw, baked beans, and half a slab of ribs (see pics). The "sides" needed more attention. Very basic. VERY. Brisket was ok. A lot of "smoked" flavor, which is to be expected. Ribs, tasty, great portion. I'd recommend.

Food and staff were both above average. The outside is deceiving but definitely worth trying. My wife loves a saucy pizza but this pizza was very light on the sauce, but was tasty . Rocco's Smokehouse kept popping up when we searched for places to eat, so we decided to give it a shot. We weren't really in the mood for barbecue, and they only had ONE steak option, but the menu looked so interesting that we figured, why not? There was about a 15-20 minute wait, which immediately had me thinking, "Okayyy, maybe we made the right choice!" The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had a great vibe. IMPORTANT: Navigation took us to the wrong location, so pay close attention to the Yelp directions. Rocco's is currently operating from a temporary location. Once we were seated, our waiter was right over to take our drink order. First things first--the sweet tea is MAGNIFICENT! And let me tell you what you NEED to order: Smoked barbecue wings -- MUST ORDER -- absolutely get it! Rocco actually brought it to our table and warned us that we would be hooked and he was right! I originally wanted the lump crab cakes, but I didn't see anyone else ordering them, so I took my waiter's recommendation and went with the brisket quesadillas. GREAT decision! They were juicy, flavorful, and downright scrumptious. My partner ordered Platter #3, which came with ribs, a quarter chicken, and pork barbecue. The chicken was his favorite--he could not stop talking about it! You could really taste that smoky flavor in the meat. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good too. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by Rocco's. We went in craving steak and left talking about smoked wings, chicken, brisket, and barbecue! Would I go back? Absolutely! And next time, those crab cakes are getting ordered! #WilliamsburgVA #WilliamsburgEats #VirginiaFoodie #RoccosSmokehouse #Foodie #YelpEats #BBQ #FoodReview #VirginiaRestaurants

First impression NOISY. This place is loud. High ceilings and open dining area makes the voices reverberate throughout the woke restaurant. The BBQ was ok, chicken dried out and the pork only average. Their sauce was the perfect blend of sweet with just the right about of spice. The place was clean and the service was decent. Not a bad bbq place but definitely has room for improvement.
