While at Saude Creek winery today, we picked up BBQ bowls and fries from the Scottish Pig Food Truck. The bowls were backed. Mine had BBQ, Baked Beans, and Cole Slaw. My friend had BBQ, Baked Beans, Mac and Cheese, and Cole Slaw. Both bowls were packed to the top. Our fries were hot and crispy. The good truck is usually at Saude Creek Saturdays and Sundays. While you can bring your own food to the winery, it's always a treat to get from the Scottish Pig. read more

Ate from this food truck this past weekend while at the Saude Creek winery and it was delicious! We sampled the following: McQ: (1/2 Mac and 1/2 pork bbq) very good! Good flavor on both. Tried some of their bbq sauces and they were yummy as well. BBQ beans-delicious! Would order again! Brunswick stew-not my favorite but it was well prepared. I just don't think I am in general a Brunswick stew fan. Corn muffin: yummy! Can't wait to try more items from here in the future! read more

Ordered the nacho's with brisket. The brisket was excellent but we were very disappointed in the quality of cheese and chips. Mac n cheese was good but French fries not so much! Overall would definitely go again for the pork and brisket but better quality chips/fries would improve the dining experience greatly! Very little smoke flavor. Never had brisket that looked like it went through a food processor. Don't love minced pork but that is a thing people like. The potatoes salad tasted like they bought it from in a tube from Kroger. Worse Cole slaw I've ever been served. There is only one BBQ that is worse in Hampton roads. read more

Really, really wanted to like this...a few of us tried a couple plates on 6/15/17 at Virginia Beer Company. Pretty average...pulled pork sandwich, poncho nachos - nothing special. Appreciate they are giving this a shot, but like so many food trucks - likely costco items (the lowest brand quality) used in product. Like other review below, I will call out the bread on the sandwich, the #10 can yellow cheese and chips for the poncho nachos plate. Spend a little more on blue tortilla or higher quality chips, better rolls but most importantly real cheese - and charge a little more if necessary - it will pay off. I arrived at a 3 star rating but the algorythm was really food (2) for the food plus a (4) for the truck / customer service averages to 3 if equally weighted. Had the opportunity to try this at a recent Food Truck debut at Tradition Brewing this week and wow! I hope they will be in the regular rotation. We had a brisket plate with a side of beans and coleslaw and the loaded fries as well as a BBQ bowl. The brisket was tender and cooked to perfection and the array of sauces (all homemade!) was impressive. Husband said the BBQ Sundae was filling and flavorful and really, who doesn't love loaded fries?? Best part was the quick service, the last few food trucks here have taken between 15-30 min to get good out, we ordered and walked away with our plates - part of the advantage of BBQ. Absolutely give these guys a try! read more

Great selection of sauces to put on your bbq . Staff were extremely friendly and helpful . I got the bbq sundae and instead of beans i got the mac and cheese which was great with the bbq and coleslaw. The meat is finely chopped which i like and it goes pefect with the slaw which i alwaya eat with my bbq. Overall great bbq and great people . read more

We enjoyed the setting. The people were kind. There were a plethora of sauces. We had the brisket plate for $13. The bun was store bought white bread hamburger bun, eh. The Cole slaw was sweet tho scanty, meh. The beans were tasty. The meat was good, tho not quite as fall apàrt as we are used to. See our picture for the plate. The tables were patio furniture. We ate at this food truck while they were parked at Tradition Brewing last Friday. My husband had the brisket sandwich and I had the mac n cheese. We also had the cornbread muffins and hush puppies. The best part was the cornbread muffins, SO good! The mac n cheese was also delicious. The hush puppies were different from what I am used to but they were also good. We would definitely eat from this truck again! read more

The Scottish Pig catered the surprise 75th birthday party for my husband and did an amazing job! It was so easy to work with Gary Hillard in planning it. He removed my having to worry about food and delivered everything as promised with no problems. The BBQ and all of the accompaniments were delicious and a good value for the price.
