After skiing for over 50 years, we are tired of cafeterias. Ever since the pandemic, we began a new model of a sit down lunch and this has continued post pandemic. More relaxing, better food and we avoid rude people who seem to be all over ski areas. We've been coming to Coleman Brook Tavern for several years and it is perhaps the nicest dining venue in Okemo. There are three sit down restaurants in this resort; one at the main Clocktower complex, one at Solitude, and Coleman Brook. We like Coleman Brook, as well as its host complex, Jackson Gore, the best. We got here at the end of the ski season, skied through lunch and had a leisurely lunch after our ski day. No reservations needed. As usual, Coleman Brook Tavern is a quiet and welcoming place. We had a delicious Pear and Beet Salad that came with spinach, arugula, feta cheese and walnuts with a vinaigrette dressing, and added the chicken which was also excellent. We also had local brews from the nearby microbrew and that completed the day. I understand some of the bad reviews are a way to trash Vail's corporate ownership of the resort and some are the result of the turnover of staff. However, in the 15 or so times we've been here, we have always experienced excellent treatment and great food and ambiance. read more

No hiding the fact that I work for Vail, and CBT is part of a Vail resort. My dining experience two nights ago is worthy of praise! I had ordered salmon, it was cooked to perfection and as requested, prepared with an apricot glaze, and served with roasted carrots. My friend is vegan and had a rice dish with a well seasoned butternut squash puree and roasted carrots. All in all one of the best dining experiences I've had in quite sometime. This restaurant is located inside the Jackson Gore Inn. Somewhat upscale ambiance for a family ski resort inside. The menu is a bit limited but had some vegetarian options. I had the pumpkin and butternut squash ravioli in a garlic cream sauce with brussel sprouts and carrots. It was flavorful and just right. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees. The blood orange margarita was a hit at our table, as well. There is a kids menu but a critique would be that for $15, a vegetable should come with a bowl of mac and cheese. The food was good but it took over an hour and a half for it to get here. Ran out of pretzel bites, big upset. They got my order a little wrong and portion on the turkey club wrap was pretty small. The ambiance is good and cozy. Overall fine place would recommend but choose wisely when to go or have a lot of time. read more

This is my first bad review I have ever given on yelp The people who work here are great and very friendly. Five stars for them. The food is horrible and no thought is put into it at all. I had the beer battered cod. It was frozen fish filets like you buy at the supermarket, The french fries that came with it were dried out frozen soggy at least a couple days old. Some not so hot reviews on this place and honestly I'm not sure why. Our experience for dinner was great ! We made a reservation, which I should have done earlier but didn't, and our options were limited in terms of what time we could dine, but other than that I thought the ambiance was great, and our server was very nice and very attentive. Went with the burger and added bacon to it. It was cooked perfectly! This was not some frozen patty, this was a legit burger. Menu offered a pretty wide berth of options and even though it was at the mountain I didn't find the price to be outrageous. I would dine here again. read more

We saw the lower review and were hesitant to come here, but so glad we did! We came 30 min before our reservation but they were happy to accommodate. Our waiter was extremely attentive and brought over free soda refills without us having to ask. The food was absolutely delicious, we got 4 different things and no one had a complaint! Maybe a little more $ than we'd normally pay but the food seemed worth it, and what we'd expect at a mountain resort. read more

We ate here a few times out of convenience as we were staying at the Jackson Gore Inn. The breakfast and dinner are good, and the staff is nice, but not surprisingly they are really short staff, so you have to wait a long time for everything. The menu doesn't offer a ton of choice. For example the only omelette option was a ham and cheese. This is the only breakfast place I've ever been where you can't get a veggie omelette. They have a $22 buffet, but seemed like a better deal for better food to order off the menu, unless you have a really large appetite. read more

I've been coming here since they opened. I don't give 5 stars easily but CBT deserves it for being excellent every time I've visited (maybe 30 or more times). This time I had the maple wings which may have been the best wings I've ever had. I also had the impossible chili and the shrimp quesadilla which were both excellent. They had a decent IPA on tap (can't recall which one, maybe lost river?) and the UFO wheat beer. Service was very good as usual. I like that the menu changes often enough so that you get to try a number of things. The dining room is beautiful but also very comfortable, even in ski boots! Sometime when we stay at Jackson Gore we'll try it for dinner. Until then, this is one of the best lunch spots you'll ever see on a ski mountain! read more

Hi lee here we are just finishing a dinner at Coleman brooks and I must say that it was "bustin' bustin'." Lots of the options are great as food and the water is cold here. Trust me this place is great for food if you're hungry and it feels like a fancy restaurant. I have never sat in them but they also have large chairs almost like thrown for a king and they look very comfortable. With the Vail purchase, service and quality is gone, replaced by high prices and very basic food, horrible service and a zero for customer experience. Previously, Coleman Brook was a higher end restaurant but now offers an all day menu. We went for dinner. The steak frites is basically an overdone hamburger with fries for about $38. Two in our party had it and both were pretty angry. Nothing on the entree list is worth ordering. The two stars is that they turned this into a lunch venue. Service is non existent though so plan on an hour and a half out of your ski day. Equally horrible is 43 Degrees at Solitide, which used to be Epic. They hand you a "menu" list with blanks and the tables have number tents on them. You choose what you want, how many, and write down your table number, and then go and wait in line to give it to them. You also have to pay then, before your food is served. It's completely unbelievable. They bring out the food and then you are your own. I can only believe that it's all about incompetent cost cutting. The experience isn't designed to be a good one. Total garbage, served us a piece of raw chicken and when we sent it back, it returned to us still under cooked. Our food was tasteless, my wife had the risotto and I had the short rib sandwich. My Friend and I stayed at the Jackson Gore resort and after a long day of skiing, we were looking forward to a nice dinner on site. The Restaurant opens at 5 pm for dinner and since we were the first few customers, we were seated right away. The Restaurant is quite big and has lots of various seatings available (couch, tables, booth). We ordered the wings and baked onion soup for starters. The wings were nicely seasoned, crispy, and meaty. The onion soup was ok, not the best I've had, but decent. So far, we would give this place 4 stars. However, when dinner came, we were disappointed. I ordered the salmon that came with fragrant rice and vegetables, while my friend ordered medium rare steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. My salmon was way overcooked and the rice was overly sweet. My friend's steak was way over done, dry and tough. Her potatoes were ok, but overall, I would give the dinner portion 2 stars... We only been here once, but if I'm back, it'll just be for appetisers. read more

We came here for dinner after a day on the slopes and we were significantly underwhelmed. We ordered the soup as an appetizer and it was okay, but our entrees were subpar. The mussels were bland, and the risotto was crunchy. The place was not super packed when we came in, but they still chose to sit us in the "back room" all alone, yet close enough to a table of 10 with four kids and lots of noise. If you're staying at Jackson Gore at Okemo, DEFINITELY eat here. Our waitress, Reilly, was AMAZING. Best service I've gotten from someone in a long time. I was trying to choose between a few different salad dressings, and without me asking she brought over all options available. I've NEVER had that happen before. The cocktails are amazing. The good is great. It's a little overpriced for a restaurant, but it's a bit more high end, AND you're at a resort, so it's expected. Great experience! read more

If the food were as good as the service, it'd be nearly five stars. We had Reilly as our server, and she was everything you could hope for. Friendly, helpful, on top of things, etc. And if the food were as good as the setting - just at the base of Jackson Gore and beautiful in the summer -- again, it would be higher. But ultimately we came in for lunch one warm summer day and left feeling disappointed. Prices were fine, but the food was really hit or miss. The kids burger was, well how do we say it? Really dead. So overcooked that even a kid who eats nearly everything said it was kind of gross. And the chicken club (not really a club/triple decker sandwich), had chicken that was nearly flavorless. And the ramen soup was greasy. That said, the veggie tacos and the pulled pork sandwiches were bigger hits with the rest of our group. And the food came out hot and quick. It's about two stars for value, but if you know what you're in for it's free or even four stars. The ribeye steak was good and actually cooked medium-rare, as ordered. The French onion soup was good, as was the salad. Everything is about 25 percent more than I'd expect based on other restaurants. The service is very friendly and we never ran out of water, but we were tucked away around a corner and they seemed to forget about us when we wanted the check and we had to get search them out. I'm told the wine was good, a red that obviously didn't need to be chilled, unlike a previous reviewer's chardonnay. The armchair seating is comfy but sort of hard to eat and also to talk, as you're a couple of feet away from the table. The bathrooms are outside the restaurant in the hotel lobby, which is a little weird. A lot of people come with little kids and they're very good at handling that. There are also patrons who speak a lot of different languages, and they seem to have no difficulty. I'm short, slowish service, adequate food, overpriced. But they're open on holidays, so they might be among very few choices. read more

Sat at a table in the lounge for 7 minutes. Bartender entered and exited 4 times, ignoring me each time. Finally I asked if they were open and his comment to me was " yes we are but I don't do table service ". Not a sign anywhere. Not a "may I help you at the bar " nothing. Rude!
