The drinks are usually on point as they were on this visit. But this time around I ordered a Grilled Cheese for about $14.. For the price you'd expect a good sandwich cooked correctly right? Well.. Honestly, I think they put the bread in a toaster, threw a piece of cheese on it.. Held it under a heat lamp to kinda try to melt the cheese then topped it with another toasted slice of bread because is was dry as hell. Definitely was not cooked with butter on a flat top. I could tell because the cheese wasn't melted onto the bread. Fries were luke warm as if they were lying in wait to be taken away.. Just not the best etiquette.. Not for the price. My cat could make a better sandwich. So no.. I wouldn't order their Grilled Cheese again.. Now if it was done right we might have a different story and better review. The bar service people were super cool though. The food prep isn't their fault. Very nice staff. Great libations. As far as ambiance, it's your typical ski lodge Bar. Bunch of happy people and families enjoying a bite or beverage on the mountain while chatting it up. There you have it! Cool spot.. (won't do the Grilled Cheese again though)

Everything from the filet to the pasta and cocktails was really great, and you can tell they put a lot of care into the menu. Our kids ended up sharing an adult entree since there isn't a kids menu, but the portions worked out perfectly. We also appreciated how accommodating they were with food allergies, which made the experience much more comfortable for our family. One thing to keep an eye on... We were overcharged for the meatballs added to the bucatini. The menu listed it as $8, but we were charged $19. Just something to double check when you visit. Overall, a really enjoyable meal and a spot we would still recommend when you are in the Okemo area even if we paid $11 more than we should have.

Well what a pleasant find. The former Alta (which was the former Harry's and the former... well you…read moreget the picture) is now an Italian steakhouse. And it turns out that it's a great place. It just opened a week before we came, so we can give them a little grace on the time the food came out of the kitchen. Wasn't unbearably long, but I suspect the kitchen is working out the kinks as it also dealt with holiday crowds. Thankfully the food and service is terrific. My water glass was continually refilled (always need water after a long day of skiing) and there was also someone to check on us. We loved the antipasto platter to start. The family size was more than enough for 5 people (and could easily feed 6-7 people). Lots of cheeses and meats. We also loved the dishes we got. The Osso Bucco was terrific. The meat was tender and enough for two meals. The polenta was also excellent with just the right consistency. (I do love risotto too but this had the same creaminess to balance the meat). The lamb chops were praiseworthy too. The pastas were homemade and outstanding. I loved the bolognese. Heck even the starlet chicken was a big hit. The drinks were also a standout with some fun cocktails. Again perfect apres ski. The prices are not cheap and are more compatible with a big city vibe. Those from such places won't be bothered by them but it can stand out. As such this place for me is a special treat -- and well worth it. Inside is fairly consistent with the prior version of this place but still nice. We did feel a little crammed at our table but overall, it's a big place with a big bar area too.

Perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. The fries were plentiful and delicious, and their bottled root beer was also quite good. Our server, Sue, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Not great. I ate at…read morethe bar, so my service expectations weren't especially high, but the staff came across as borderline rude. I started with the shrimp cocktail, followed by the surf and turf, which included a filet mignon and a lobster tail. The shrimp cocktail was served hot. It was actually good, but it was the first hot shrimp cocktail I've ever had, so it was a bit unusual. When my surf and turf arrived, the filet was overcooked and the lobster tail was undercooked. When the bartender asked how everything was, I told her. She responded that they could put the lobster tail back on the grill to cook it longer, but there was nothing they could do about the filet. I agreed to have the lobster tail cooked a bit more. Unfortunately, when it came back, it was overcooked to the point that it felt as though the chef was trying to make a point rather than fix the problem. This is a one-and-done restaurant for me.

Disappointment is an understatement. We had New Year's Eve dinner at Green Apron, where they were…read morehosting a $100/pp prix fixe menu. We had high expectations since this was supposed to be a new farm-to-table restaurant in the area. The menu looked great: rabbit rillette with date mustard and winter pickles to start, parsnip velouté and warm endives to follow, with a choice of venison filet or winter vegetables as the main course. Dessert was a pomegranate gellee and coffee mousse. Sadly, the flavors were not entirely there, the service was mediocre considering the price, and the portion sizes were laughable. The rabbit rillette was served on a tiny crostini. The dish in itself was about the size of a quarter. The plates were cold, so I presume that this was something the kitchen made ahead of time. The parsnip velouté was not bad - but it was warm in some places and cold in others. Again, probably made in advance and not fully heated through. The warm endives were a joke. First off, mine were cold (and the plate was semi-warm). The date that accompanied the endive was pretty disgusting. They sat on a bed of chèvre mousse which I did not enjoy, with an apple balsamic foam. Even though I tried a little bit of everything on this dish, I just couldn't eat it. It was gross. Let me make a side note here - there was a bread plate at each seat. Since they did not offer bread at the start of the meal, I thought maybe it would be offered prior to the entree. I was wrong. After the endive, the servers took your choice of entree and did not ever bring you bread. I had the venison filet. Although it was tasty, the portion was half the size of a credit card. Please explain to me how that is even considered an entree. Sheer and utter disappointment. Why is this $100 per person? At this point, since we were at a table facing the window, we got a view of the torch lighting ceremony - which the server couldn't really explain to me what it was except that they did it every year. Also, we had a nice view of the fireworks after. During this time, the pomegranate gellee was brought out. It was the size of a gum drop, sitting atop a spoon, resting on a saucer. Zero points for plating on this one. The coffee mousse was brought out shortly after, and it was a huge dollop of mousse with a cherry gel on the side. Also zero points for plating. It was like they weren't even trying. The checks were brought out with the quickness. Boom. Including a glass of wine and tax, I felt pretty ripped off. Service? Not the best. One of the servers over poured the champagne, so we had bubbly all over our table. Another server filled our water glasses to the brim, but these were tiny glasses. Trying to drink them without spilling was a balancing act. No bread, no small talk, you would think that they weren't happy to be working that night. Dinner sounded great, but that was all. We should have opted for take-out pizza instead.
