One star for the mozzarella sticks and one for how cute the place was. I don't know if we just chose a bad night (Friday), but the hostess barely acknowledged us, threw our menus on our table, and walked away. The cosmo was really bad and our pretzel was burnt. Also, the band that was playing was way too loud. Almost as soon as they started, the tables around us started leaving. The hostess then started violently bussing said tables. Like, tossing full cups of drinks into a container filled to the brim with plates. Our waiter was nice enough, but we had to intentionally flag him down several times to place orders, and he tossed our food on the table without asking us if we wanted anything else. Just kind of basic stuff. Will give this place another try if I'm back in Ludlow though! I hope they were just having a bad night. read more

Nice atmosphere, great gluten free pizza option, decent prices and very quick service!

Couple of things i have to mention first. Town of Ludlow and the Okemo area has really gone down in recent years. Basically if you're coming on a busy weekend or any weekend for that matter. Be prepared that between hours of 4-7 there will be hardly any place to eat. Now for the review : Came here this past weekend and after trying to get into one of the very few places to eat, we were told this place had fast take out. We only ordered pizza ( a meat lovers ) and even though they were packed with people waiting outside for close to an hour to be seated, the pizza take out took only twenty minutes. This is why they get the stars. The service was also good, so that gets a star. The pizza itself was a nice size, but the taste was off. Something was missing, when I took my slice apart, I noticed they didn't put any sauce on the pizza , at least non that had any flavor. Basically my whole group ate bread with cheese and meat on it. Bottom line the pizza wasn't good, at least in our opinion. Can't speak for anything else, since we only had the pizza. read more

The pizza was amazing the twisted garlic on the other hand tasted stale and we did have to wait to get seated the waiter was busy talking to someone and wasn't even paying attention but there was "singo" and it was really fun so I would say it was a win hahah read more

A massive improvement over its predecessor. We came by on a Monday and it was jamming apres ski. Great beer on draft. But the stars of the show are the pizza which is a bar pizza. Super thin crust with flavorful sauce and good ingredients. We got the pepperoni and while I'd love another slice or two of pepperoni on each slide of pizza, particularly for the price, it was quite tasty. The Caesar salad was a huge hit. Very tasty and lots of it. A very similar formula to what you can find at its sister place Alta. Service was friendly and we got our pizza in 20 mins. A winner. read more

This place deserves 5 stars! Called in early wondering if they accepted dogs, and chatted with the friendliest lady who confirmed and got us set up outside by the firepit so we wouldnt be cold, with a water bowl for the pup. Our server, Nick, was kind, definitely on the lookout for us to have the best experience, making reco's based on his favorites and refilling our drinks everytime they were low. Exceptional service all around! We shared the coconut shrimps which were fantastic, the roasted brussel sprouts. , again phenomenal, and a Pizza (3 cheeses with Honey - delicious). If I could give this place zero stars I would. The wife and I stopped for some apres and to say this is an embarrassment to any sort of dining is an understatement. So we order a few cocktails and the faux crispy Brussels w some sort of spicy honey glaze and $15 wings. Crispy. The 2 appy's show up independently of each other so let's start w the Brussels. Crispy they were not. In fact these were so overboiled or steamed they were a kind of Brussels mush all sauced up w some sticky sweet syrup. Epically bad. But wait! It gets worse...6 of the mangy-est, beat up, anorexic, toxic looking wings I've ever seen. Almost as if the chickens went on a hunger strike before the butcher took their wings. For $15 bucks!! So as we quiz the waitress, "yes the wings always look like that. No I don't control the prices and we never give out celery and carrots." Yeah why would you! If I were the chef or Troy the owner I'd be embarrassed, ashamed, disgusted with myself to serve food like that. This is on par, suck fest wise, with his other horrible establishment, Terra. Maybe Troy the owner should be less concerned about chatting up the crowd, telling jokes and low grade magic tricks and more concerned about what trash food is coming out of his kitchen. I'm a Chef. We got the garlic knots, chicken roll and the double smash burger. This restaurant has an overall issue with seasoning their food. The garlic knots, chicken roll and accompanying marinara sauce were all flavorless. Add herbs to the marinara sauce and to the dough, and consider brushing the dough with garlic butter. The little cubes of overcooked chicken in the chicken roll were unappetizing, and the garlic knots didn't look at all like they do on yelp. Lacked flavor. The burger had a decent execution, but was also flavorless. I wasn't asked what temperature I wanted the meat cooked to. The bun was bland and untoasted, and the meat wasn't seasoned. This burger could have easily been a 5/5, it wasn't greasy or oily, the cheese was nicely melted, and the lettuce and tomato looked fresh. Consider adding some sort of sauce or aioli. The employees were nice. The ambiance is very much that of a sports bar, with a tv in every direction and volume on high. read more

Awesome pizza, atmosphere, and bar. OTR is one of my family's favorite spots in Ludlow and never disappoints. For us, the best pizza at Okemo, very creative and delicious. Servers and bartenders are always great. They'll have live entertainment quite often and their menu has gotten really expansive over the last year or so. Great fresh craft beer on tap and in cans. Off the Rails is a fun bar in downtown Ludlow. There is a decent tap list and a full bar. They feature Mt. Holly beer, which is a local brewery that makes tasty beer. The food is good here, too. I've had the sliders and the pizza is very good. There is lots of entertainment and a fun event called SINGO on Tuesday nights. There is plenty of seating with an outdoor area for when the weather is good. The service is good. There is also plenty of parking. OTR is a favorite of locals who welcome visitors during ski and leaf peeping seasons. read more

The service is good. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. We have had pizza here in the past and it was consistently good. The drinks have always been sub par. So we typically stuck with beer. What really threw the experience off this time was the drink. Figured what could go wrong with a pour of scotch. So we ordered Scotch over rocks. We were served a drink poured on crushed ice. We checked with the waitress and her explanation was that's how they served it. To top this off we were charged $2 per drink for ICE!!!!! So basically we paid $16 for single pour of 12 yr old Macallan on crushed ice. The double cheeseburger was surprisingly one of the best I've ever had! Delicious special sauce and cooked perfectly. Outdoor seating with string lights in the summer, billiards table, and many live music events or karaoke. The owner of Off The Rails, Troy Caruso, is a snob that treats his employees like garbage. I am deeply disappointed that his image has stained the beautiful town of Ludlow, VT. He says vulgar and inappropriate things to employees and seems to only care about his own financial gain. The servers, cooks, and other staff are immaculate and try their absolute hardest to provide guests with a positive experience, but giving money to this man feels like an absolute sin. It is really sad to be writing a review this harsh, but this is the reality. Don't give your money to Troy Caruso. Give it to the working people of Ludlow, Vermont that have earned it!! read more

The service was very slow on a Friday night during ski season. They told us the kitchen was backed up and when our food came out my brussel sprains were not crispy and the chicken for the salad was canned. I would say if you come here come for the pizza. That seemed to come out a lot quicker. read more

Everything was trash. Classic ski town resturant that wants all your money. Food was awful and burgers don't come with sides, outrageous!

We went today - Sunday. The restaurant was out of Brussel sprouts, peppers, and couldn't offer a single vegetable. We had a dairy allergy in our party. When we asked about the cow cheese in a dish, we were promised there was none. When it came, it was clear there was melty cheese. The server told us there would be an upcharge to remove the cheese. We were flabbergasted. At the end of the meal, they charged us a compulsory 20% despite having fewer than 8 people in our party. There was no manager on site and we were not directed to anyone who could help with this madness. Until today, I've never been compelled to write a negative review. This was a TERRIBLE experience. read more

Pros: Tasty thin crust pizza, good beer, solid live music, wait staff working hard and great attitude Cons: Came with a group of 10. 5:30pm reservation, finally seated at 7:30pm with a lot of effort. Restaurant books tables way too tight, so don't expect to be seated on time. Front of house doesn't seem to have much control of this or care, and the front area can get very busy with many parties waiting. Ambiance is lively and fun, and live music was good, but made conversation impossible due to volume. Come for the food and beer, but be prepared to wait. read more

This place has the best fries! The pizza and burgers were also really good! They even have a little fireplace inside the restaurant!

This was a great choice for dinner with the family. We had 3 adults and 3 kids under 10 years old. The restaurant was absolutely jam packed and we did not have a reservation. We were kindly greeted by the hostess who was very polite and said despite how busy it was she would find us a table as quickly as possible. Once we were seated we were met by our friendly server Kate who was attentive and very polite despite having many other tables and had to come up two flights of stairs to serve us. There is a small game room for kids with some arcade games, air hockey, pinball, and some unlucky claw games. The games take quarters only. Inside is lively and loud but a fun atmosphere nonetheless. We were drawn in by the outside appearance. Tons of tables, lights, music and bonfires. It was fairly busy given it was Saturday night and a live band was playing. Despite that, we got seated fast and the food came out fast as well. Unfortunately I only took one picture of the pretzel, which felt unpleasantly soggy. Seems like everyone in there was enjoying themselves, but since we come from a place with great food and excellent service I guess we have high standards? Nachos are nothing but a pile of tortilla chips with velveeta and a few green garnishes. The brussel sprouts were good. There's a game room upstairs that my kids were really excited to use. All the games take quarters, most games are $0.50 or $1. I'd say half the games and prize machines (the kind where you put the quarters in and turn the crank to dispense the prize) eat your money. I know old machines are unreliable, but all it would take is the owner or manager to go around once and test each machine to see if they work or not. Would take 10 minutes tops. read more

Don't bother. Waste of time and money. $20 for a terrible margarita is extremely steep. We specifically asked the server is the mix was super sugary. It was extremely sugary, couldn't even drink it and I'm not sure it had any alcohol in it. We didn't even drink them, dumped them out on the ground. The soft pretzels we ordered were way over cooked. Went there for drinks later in the night. Nice selection of drafts, the locally brewed beers are quite tasty. Cocktail selection is a bit small but understandable, I didn't expect them to even have actual cocktails. There was live music which was entertaining and a nice outdoor area including a little golf set up you can hit balls into the pond. The pizza here is the best you can have in the area and has a cozy feeling while in the restaurant. When you go up the stairs you see there is a little arcade room for the little ones and sometimes play song bingo! The service is pretty fast and the waiters are very nice! Whilst you wait for your food you can see outside there is a little putting area in the front that comes with rubber balls and clubs. Overall a really nice place and has live music aswell! read more
