    Closed early. So annoying!

Just leaving cold stone! I won't be back! They are very unprofessional and decided to close at 9:45 PM when it clearly states on their website and on Google that they close at 10 PM... Nonetheless, 9:45 PM as a random time to close. See attached photos! Make sure you call before you head over... If you even want to head over because I see they have an average rating under two stars lol I know why... Save your money, your time and your calories go somewhere else! UPDATE: Went to Handels Ice Cream.... short drive down the road, they stay open and really friendly staff! Yayyyyy

Service threw me off, 1st time visiting cold stone, as a first timer I clearly don't know what flavors they carry. I wanted to see for a minute... not even 1 minute passed since I got asked again if I was ready to order. BOTH (blonde and blue headed) employees made me and my friends feel rushed we decided to walk out and walk across the street to Handles Ice cream shop instead. Won't be coming back to cold stone. DATE Visited || 01-25-24 TIME || around 8:45 PM.

    And dirty...

Dark and dirty. If I'm paying $18 for a few ice creams, I'd expect slightly better conditions. The inside of the glass of the ice cream case looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months and the hanging lights (all off) above the counter have a thick layer of dust on them. If they can't take care of the easy stuff, how are they doing with the stuff we can't see? Add to that like half the ceiling lights seem to be out, and this was easily the most depressing Cold Stone

    first bottom floor

Going to stone cold was great. The owner let us photographers explore the stone explain how they make the ice cream and clean their station to serve the customer. Lastly, give us a cone and the best ice cream I ever had in Oceanside.

Terrible service. Line 8 deep, staff of 2 on a Tuesday eve; one not serving customers at all, the other trying hard not to. Give it a pass.

The cashier is just standing there... finally he gave up when he saw that I wasn't just gonna give up and pay full price and just scanned the barcode for me and I just looked at him like sir, You had the barcode this whole time and you had me here fighting with an app holding up the line pissing everyone off like, are you for real? I've been saying I'm going to do this for a long time but tonight I finally had enough. I'm going home to research and invest in a meat box, a vegetable box, looking up all my local farmers markets and probably going to re-join thrive market because I just cannot with this place anymore. That's how sick to death I am of them. I hope AI takes all your jobs!

I gave them my theme and examples of what I'd like to include in the design and they were in point! And the high quality ingredients were absolutely amazing! And what I loved was it wasn't excessively sweet but exactly the right combinations. They also have last minute already made cakes and desserts but also decorated a cake for me in one day!!! That's unheard of! For wedding and more elaborate cakes they need several weeks notice but their cakes are worth the wait!!! They truly are works of art that taste unbelievable!!! My favorite, if I have to pick one, is the chocolate cake, chocolate ganache filling with a white buttercream. The icing is so light and airy almost like a whipping cream icing. My guest were fighting over the last piece! Definitely will get a larger cake next time! This woman-owned business is no joke! These artist and master pastry chefs do it all! "Boy what you looking for? You know where them cookies are…read moreYeah, I caught yo' ass red-handed in that cookie jar" (Doja Cat) It's a tough call to decide what was better. The incredibly sweet woman behind the counter who helped us with a dessert order for a family dinner for twelve, the sheer beauty and variety of the baked goods in her store, or the 20 amazing cookies we ended up buying. The Carlsbad Bakery has been around for 40+ years specializing in Danish and French pastries, quiche, cupcakes, cakes, and too many eye-popping things to list. We walked over on a Friday and after talking to the proprietor decided that a variety of cookies would be the way to go. What wasn't easy was deciding what type of cookie, because their big chocolate chip, pistachio, almond, cherry, and peanut butter cookies all looked beyond amazing. We decided on a box of 20 mixed cookies ($52.90) and returned the next day to pick them up. My Sweet Lord, the box was as heavy as a bowling ball and was warm with freshly baked cookies. The intoxicating aroma penetrated the carton and filled our hotel room. When they were served at dinner, people's eyes popped out of their heads because they were so gorgeous. I managed to restrain myself and limited my dessert to one pistachio cookie that was fantastic. Of course, all of my cousins wanted to know where we found these amazing cookies. Thank you, Carlsbad Bakery, for such a fantastic customer experience. Your store is beautiful, and your product is extraordinary.

We arrived early for our reservation, so we walked the pier while we waited, and I appreciated that they texted us once our table was ready. One thing to note is they close on the earlier side at 9 p.m. The ambiance was really nice too -- definitely on the fancier side, but not so fancy that it felt stuffy or uncomfortable. We started with the hot sourdough bread and maple spice butter, which was addicting. I also ordered the wedge salad and liked that the blue cheese wasn't overly pungent. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and very tender, though I do wish it came out hotter since it was basically room temperature when served. The whipped potatoes were buttery and creamy, and the short rib was rich, flavorful, and fall-apart tender. The creamed spinach could've used more salt in my opinion. They were definitely heavy-handed on the spices as the spicy kick at the end caught me off guard. We ended the night with the flourless chocolate cake and wow... definitely worth the calories. Service was also great. Leo was attentive throughout the meal, and his team always made sure our waters stayed full. Solid spot for a girls' night or date night in Oceanside.

Located in the SeaBird Resort in downtown Oceanside right across from the beach, Piper has that classy beachside aesthetic with light grey and sand wood colors. They have a nice outside area for drinks and lounging, but we ate inside. We had a reservation for a Saturday evening and when we arrived, we were sat right away. Our party of 4 started off with the Prager Bros bread & whipped butter with sea salt and the Grilled Peaches appetizer. The grilled peaches came with burrata cheese and I really liked the two flavors and consistencies together. A friend got the lobster & coconut soup, whipped smoked eggplant, and I had the house-made spaghetti and meatball. The restaurant was not very busy as I saw some open tables. Our waiter really was the worst. He seemed inattentive and then borderline rude when we asked to order. We sat down and got our food 2 hours later. Then we sat around for another hour waiting for our dessert/coffees and finally the check. A total time of 3 hours for dinner and the restaurant itself was flashing lights to indicate it was closing. You would think that would mean they hurried to get us settled out. Nope, the employees were just talking to each other and starting to close down...and apparently forgot about us. Some of our party started to leave because it was way too long to wait. The food was overall fine. Some plates were good and some were lackluster. The decor was sophisticated and obviously going for an upscale vibe. The bill finally came after we asked multiple times and it totaled over $1,000 and it really was dissatisfying. I would recommend everyone take their business elsewhere. There are better spots to blow some cash.
