My friend loves ice cream cakes and I'm most familiar with the ones from Baskin Robbin's that I remember as a kid so I went online and ordered one. The ordering process was easy and straightforward. The choices were somewhat limited so it's probably better to order in person. I ordered for pick up on February 14th at 12. I arrived at about 11:50 and there was a line for pick up and a line for ordering ice cream. There was only one person helping people at the time. When it was my turn at about 11:58 I was told to come back it wouldn't be ready for at least 10 minutes. I was supposed to be somewhere so it was a bit inconvenient but I went to the car and waited. It was ready when I came back. I surprised my friend and everyone had a slice and enjoyed it. Next time I will order in person for more customization. read more

For me, ice cream is pretty much the same at a chain ice cream place. So my rating would be based on the service for this kind of place. We drove through town and my kids wanted ice cream. A young male staff was patient when my son asked for samples. After my son ordered his ice cream, we were ready to head out the door. My son was having trouble with his crutches while holding his ice cream. He accidentally dropped his ice cream on the floor. He was upset. I was helping him clean up. That young male staff saw it and immediately offered to give him a new one. That kindness made a difference! Thank you for making my son's night better. This Baskin-Robbins location for the most part is always quiet and we get quick service. There's not a lot of seating, but enough so we always have had a seat if needed. Service is good on just about every visit and they make us feel welcomed. On this visit we got the Pumpkin Cheesecake and Caramel Prailine, both very tasty. I'd recommend the prepackaged pints as a best deal. read more

No apology given, just basically "We don't have it". Restroom seems to be (purposely?) out of order for customers? I have ordered two ice cream cakes a year for at least 10 years. The last two cakes had mistakes. The first time wasn't really terrible so I just let it pass. This last cake was one of the polar pizzas. After he took my order, I looked it over and it was exactly what I wanted on the paper. When the cake was picked up, the bottom layer wasn't the layer that we had asked for it was a fudge layer and not the chocolate chip layer. They did do the right kind of ice cream, but then they did not put the right kind of sprinkles on it. Then (the worst mistake of all) they forgot to write happy birthday to the person whose birthday it was. My husband had picked it up so he didn't know to look to see if it was on there. I called and have called numerous times asking for the manager and they always say not available. I'm very disappointed in their service lately and because this ice cream cake was for a child he was disappointed that their name wasn't on it. Young kid tonight had zero customer service skills. He seemed annoyed to be working asked him for sprinkles on top of ice cream and tried to say he couldn't do that, I said what? He then said they will fall off, I said I always ask for sprinkles on top and have never been told this can't be done. Multiple failures regarding our experience. I ordered a birthday cake for my son and the young man taking the order didn't have any clue what he was doing. The ordering process was so bad I had to call the next day just to make sure it was correct. I asked the very knowledgeable woman who answered if they could add some trees to his cake since we were doing a Bigfoot theme. She had just run out of trees so she was going to check another store and call me back. Never heard from her. Fast forward to pickup day. The three people working completely ignored us for 10 minutes. I understand you have orders but at least acknowledge we are waiting. The cake looked terrible. The rainbow ice cream was showing through the icing all over the cake, the writing was sloppy (why on earth would you put a slash through a zero on a birthday cake?) and worst of all my son's name was spelled wrong. They "fixed" it sloppy also. No trees on it, of course. I ordered brown frosting borders (forest theme!) and they used fudge instead. Maybe they don't know this but fudge and sherbet taste terrible together, which is why I asked for brown FROSTING, not fudge. So my four year old had enough for 1 scoop at $3.99. That's ok, baby sister doesn't need an ice cream. My four year old dropped the cone outside of the car. This is a new Baskin Robbins that opened in Vista about 2 months ago and I finally got in to try it out. The grand opening is coming up on February 4th and they are having a special $1.31 for a scoop. The 2 people that were working were very nice and helpful. They greet you when you get in the door and offer samples of new flavors, and whatever you want to try. I got 2 scoops in a cup plus a sugar cone. My 1st scoop was the PB& chocolate, not the Reese's but the original BR kind.For my 2nd scoop I went with super truffle fudge which was very good. I got it after trying a recommended sample from the server. The sugar cone was ok, but normally it is much better than this one was. This location is right off the 78 on Melrose so it is easy to get to. The store is large, clean, and has some seating. read more
