Showed up 03/11/23 at 9:56. 4 minutes before closing. There was another couple inside ordering ice cream and 2 young men and an older woman with glasses working. As my girlfriend and I enter the woman says "we are closing sorry." I said what time do you close? Online says 10pm and she repeats "we are closing the couple in front of you is the last customer". There is a Towel over the sliding door that is collecting whatever in the world is dripping out of the ceiling. This alone is disturbing but the most Disturbing thing is that the employees are still opening this door and serving ice cream out of this door! Came In last night, nobody was in line except me. The guy who was there didn't even greet me or say anything to me. 2 minutes later 2 other customers walk in and the guy goes "what can I get for you?" Excuse me???? What about me? Very small awkward location. The young ladies working on the Sunday afternoon of our visit were not friendly at all. They greeted no guests upon entering and thanked none as they left. It was very obvious they did not enjoy their jobs or they were both having a very bad day. When they were asked for a waffle cone, the customer was told we don't have waffle cones here. You could very clearly see all waffle cone supplies along with pictures and pricing for the cones. Apparently they were not feeling like making cones that afternoon even though they would be open for several more hours. Not a fan of chains, there are not really any other options in the area so I took my son here. He went with a peanut butter milkshake while enjoyed it but I felt it was pricey for the quality and portion size that you get. I had a few samples and nothing was worth it to me. Okay, so you know how if you've been to one in a chain, you can pretty much expect the same from them all? Really no different here, when you're talking about the menu or options available to you. Stone Cold Creamery, to me, is overly priced for the product, but you can customize and get what you want, so it's a trade off for some "upscale" ice cream. This review, however, is specific to this location. First of all, it's right by the theater in downtown Oceanside, and there's outdoor seating for all of those restaurants there, so you have enough outdoor space to spread out, crowd watch, and enjoy your ice cream. Inside, however, is a completely different story. First of all, this location always just seems a bit dingy to me. It's never really seems truly clean. The staff is predictable, young kids who are just trying to collect a paycheck. Not terribly friendly, nor helpful, but they'll give you what you ask for. The place is small, and the line is always long, and the layout is awkward so the line is too. They usually seem understaffed, or else the staff is in hiding somewhere. Who knows? When you're already there, it's not a bad option, just know you'll probably have to wait longer than you should, and it's just not the best location in the area (but it's the only one close, so you learn to deal). read more

I have never been this disappointed at a Cold Stone Creamery as I have been this weekend. The minute I walk in, the Hispanic girl who was working that night, turned around and asked if I was ready to order. I politely told her that I was not ready. Then, afterwards, she asked me a couple times, as if she was asking me to hurry up and make my decision. I wasn't holding up the line or anything. I asked for the medium size of the Coffee Lovers Only signature creation. I asked it for no nuts but substitute it for white chocolate chip instead. She made my ice cream, in a matter of seconds, which in some cases would be good, but in this case, it was more like, I'm just doing this to get it over with kind of attitude. She was so fast that my order was completed before the people ahead of me, to the point, another employee commented on how fast she makes the ice cream. Topping wise, I feel that she skimped on the topping. I would have imagined more than one piece of heath bar goes into the medium size and I would have liked to see more caramel. What I was most pissed about is that the Mira Mesa location does NOT charge extra for substitution. However, the lady charged the substitution as an extra topping.
