I've been living in Oceanside California for over 4 years now and I'm super happy to have seen the growth of this "liquor store -turned- specialty shop" that we all know as Bubbles by the Beach. Bubbles by the Beach was always known for its convenient location on Cleveland St, between Pier View Way and Mission Ave. It was also better known for their wide variety of liquor and spirits. They've always been the perfect spot to stop before the beach and grab your drinks and some grub to go. Fast-forward to 2020, Bubbles By the Beach has been totally remodeled and now tote a new arsenal of goodies for EVERYONE. While they are still convenient in location, they are far from just a liquor store. They now carry a plethora of wines, beer, kombucha, tea, sodas, sparkling water and many many speciality beverages; ranging from top-shelf, to 2 for $3 specials. Not only drinks, they now carry chips, candy, snacks, foods, fruits, ice-cream, slushees, specialty deli meats, breads, speciality cheeses, condiments, beach skincare products, medicine, prophylactics, fishing gear and equipment, frozen desserts, and now they've got a section dedicated to in-house deli goods, baked-goods, fresh made-to-go sandwiches, meals and desserts! It's a ONE STOP SHOP for everything you need!! What I truly appreciate the most is their dedication to customer satisfaction. Being a local and repeat customer, I can request specific items to be ordered and they will make the effort (and succeed) in getting the desired items in store. For example, I love an island drink known as Cruzan Rum and it can very difficult to find in California. But they got it for me!! Now that's service!! What more could you want?! What a facelift! This beautifully remodeled liquor store and market is the epitome of convenience. It's CLEAN and everything is organized so well it's easy to get what you need and get on with the day. Employees are quick to help and are so friendly! Super convenient for a beach day with family with a great selection of grab and go items including sandwiches and salads, Nathan's hot dogs, iced coffee, Icees and Dippin' Dots. So grateful to find a package of swim diapers and sunscreen for my little guy! They had a variety of beach activity items from boogie boards and sand toys to footballs and fishing poles. Their variety of beer, wine, liquor and even kombucha was awesome. I was so happy to see many Oceanside and San Diego local brands carried here including so many world class Oceanside craft beers. I went in and tried to buy a bottle of wine and 1 beer. The older man who rang me up charged me for a 4 pack of beers instead of the one. When I said I only wanted the one beer and asked why it was so expensive, he said he wasn't allowed to sell only one beer. If that was the case, why didn't he say that when he rang it up? He was all ready for me to pay the whole amount. I thought it was an honest mistake and then I spoke to my friend who went in at another time to buy a pack of cigarettes. He said the person rang up the cigarettes and looked at the price and added $2 to the total saying that the price was going up today. Weird and sketch. Check the prices before you pay. read more

Such a great little market! We're staying at the Mission Pacific and this market is so convenient for snacks, drinks and alcohol. We've stopped by three times in two days. The ready to eat items are nice as well - the fruit bowl is super fresh and yummy. Great variety of items, friendly customer service. Definitely recommend for all your snack/drink needs. read more

We really LOVE the new renovations!! The family who owns it are soooo nice. They value the safety and comfort of their customers and do a great job of dealing with the transients loitering while still respecting said transients. This could just be an outlier, but I just needed a corkscrew and paid $4 for one that appears USED. It's got a married couple's name and wedding date etched in it and doesn't look new at all, witch scuffs and smudges on it. I'd give it another shot but just a bad first impression for my first time in town UPDATE: The owner of this establishment informed me that they have experienced theft recently, and that it's likely that the corkscrew that I bought was switched out by a thief for one of theirs. I've been meaning to write a review since this place reopened. It's amazing. The renovations alone makes me wanna come in here all the time. The owner is amazing and it's evident because soo is the staff. They have almost everything you need and walking distance to the beach. But I must say "the homemade food is outrageously good!".. I am completely hooked on their super simple regular bread turkey cheddar cheese and lettuce sandwiches. Made with LOVE... I was told "once you eat the food here, you'll never go anywhere else".. it's semi true!! I do still make food at home and occasionally eat some Knockout Pizza and halibut from the Lab across the street but I crave Bubbles.
