Double Double Burger Fish and chips
    Geena K.

It was yummy! I got the fish and chips which came with fries, tartar sauce, goddess greens, and a wedge of lemon -- pro tip is to use the lemon on the salad and dip the fish into the Tabasco before tartar sauce. The acid will cut right through and complement the dish great! Portion of fish wasn't the hugest for $28 but was very crispy! Partner got the double burger which was also good with the fries! Great spot to fill up after the bull hill hike! The surrounding town also has a lot of cute antique and specialty stores!! Things are pricy though. The vibes were elegant with ample outdoor and indoor seating.

I was in town for a day and after spending my morning hiking, I was looking for food and air conditioning. I got that and more from this spot! The staff were so so so kind. The two servers worked in tandem so I was very taken care of. They answered questions, gave recommendations, and never rushed me. The food was very good. I was very full and still wanted to keep eating. I had a delicious burger and crisp beer on a hot summer day! No complaints here!

Loaded garlic hummus with grilled naan

To be frank I did not have high expectations for Cold Spring Depot but they exceeded my expectation! I dined at this restaurant with my mom on Mother's Day and it was busy but was still able to be seated in the outdoor bar area. It was a beautiful sunny day and they have plenty of outdoor seating with shade. The loaded hummus platter inspired and surprised me!!! It had cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, capers, black olives, feta cheese and a good olive oil served with a buttery naan. I don't know why I've never thought of adding these things to hummus but I will never eat it plain again. My mom had calamari and cherry ancho wings. The bar tender was so sweet, catering and attentive. The whole staff was super nice as well. The food was delicious and will definitely be returning whenever I visit Cold Spring NY. Thank you for the inspiration!!

    Cheesesteak Egg Rolls

Service here was very friendly and helpful on recommending menu items, plus glad they up on refilling the water often since it was pretty hot outside. For the food the cheesesteak egg rolls were great, plenty of seasoned beef and glad they were not piping hot. Do wish they had more cheese since it was not cheesy. Dipping sauce was on point. For the pasta Luna which is just spaghetti in fra diavolo sauce, good amount of squid and shrimp cooked just right and definitely a right portion of spaghetti. The sauce I will give you could been more spicy, but still great. Do appreciate a portion cup of Parmesan cheese since it's more than most places would just sprinkle on top.

    Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich

The Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich was huge. As soon as I saw the sandwich sitting on someone's table as I walked in, I knew that's what I wanted to order. The scent of the food here did not set me up for disappointment. The chicken was so crispy you could hear it. I personally liked the Nashville hot flavor okay, and it wasn't super spicy. The restaurant had a ton of outdoor seating, including seating next to the train (super cool if you ask me), but it also had a lot of indoor seating. Our larger group of 6 was able to fit comfortably at a table indoors in a section that was decorated to feel like a home. I really have never truly seen a homey restaurant until stepping into this place. I loved the generous serving of fries, and I nearly finished them all despite how full I was.

Decent burger, friendly service, and really spacious interior / exterior. Beer is not bad as well but nothing mind blowing. Would come here for a quick rest / drink but not for anything else in particular, only if you're already in the area.

This place was great for what I needed . after a long day of hiking , and most restaurants closed at eight to nine p.m., this restaurant right by the train station is extremely convenient if you're trying to leave town and quite filling for a reasonable price. We got the double double burger, and the Pueblo burger (I think that's what it was called). Burger is much better than the double double. The double double was just a regular burger. Not much flavor. But the burger with the roasted peppers it was delicious. Quite soggy though and it fell apart. But it's a good messy burger. The fries, we agreed were terrific and by far the biggest strength of the meal. George was extremely kind to us and gave us recommendations for upstate getaways. I really appreciate his service and his kindness.

Solid burger joint! Lots and lots of outdoor seating, great ambiance particularly in spring, summer, fall months. We loved their outdoor patio. Squash salad was a tad overdressed, but perfect toppings and paired insanely well with our burger. I absolutely loved their truffle fries, crunchy exterior and relatively fluffy interior.

We came here for lunch. We initially tried to sit outside but there were a lot of bees/wasps which made it uncomfortable. They kindly re-sat us indoors which was super cozy with a fireplace. The French onion soup was delicious. We also got a burger and upgraded to truffle fries. The fries were my favorite part of the meal. They were super crispy and not too greasy.

Came on a Saturday and there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. Seated outdoors within 10 minutes. Service was fast and friendly. The shrimp and soup were delicious but the sandwiches are lackluster. The nashville hot fried chicken sandwich was barely spicy and the steak sandwich lacked seasoning. The truffle fries were good though. Kinda pricey for what it was as well.

Met my godson here today. Very cute bar on the train tracks. Restaurant side has a cozy fireplace that u smell as soon as u walk in. Mostly burger and sandwiches . I had a steak sandwich with broccoli rabe. Sandwich was good but small only 1 slice of meat. But was very tasty Wife had a Reuben sandwich said it was great. Godson ordered a double burger. He said it was awesome. Prices were very reasonable and plenty of parking right outside

German burger with German potato salad, and in the background is the cauliflower. All were mediocre at best.

Thought the food here was average at best. Mostly burgers and sandwiches kind of thing but everything was pretty blah. We ordered the big pretzel with cheese to start. The pretzel was decent. It was soft, but the cheese sauce was really lackluster. For lunch, I had the German Oktoberfest burger with German potato salad. The burger was OK, the meat was a little overcooked, but apparently that's how they cook it. The potato salad was a joke. It was just red potatoes cut up with barely any seasoning on it. I don't really think that's how German potato salad is! My girlfriend ordered the cauliflower appetizer as well as the shrimp appetizer. The cauliflower was really Sour and was fair at best. The shrimp tasted kind of weird, but the sauce was good. She ordered an extra plate of fries as well, and they were also only fair. The service was a bit slow as well and the bartender although he took care of us was really kind of Blah as was the food.

    Veggie Burger

I don't understand why this place doesn't have over 4 stars on Yelp. I stopped here with my mom before heading back to NYC and the burger was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the veggie one since I'm vegetarian. The sauce gave it some extra flavor, the quac was a great touch, and the burger patty itself hit the spot! Fries were also very crispy. They have an lovely outside patio where we sat and enjoyed the beautiful day. I'll definitely be coming back here.

After eating there, I can confidently say Doug, your pub makes pretty good food. Our party of four was seated at a high-top, and the feasting began. They've got a great beer selection and took care of us right away. Food-wise, we started with the chicken wings, which were huge and packed with flavor. For me, the main event was the original patty melt. You know when something tastes homemade, but in the absolute best way possible? That was this burger. It was hot, juicy, and dripping with flavor, with perfectly caramelized onions and melted cheese. What really made it work was the bread, it still had a crunch instead of turning soggy. Every dip into the Thousand Island just made it better. The onion rings were a perfect sidekick. Around the table, my brother-in-law went with the Nutty Hog and enjoyed it, my sister liked her quesadilla, and my wife was happy with her chicken. No complaints anywhere. You know how I feel about local spots, and this place was full of charm and character. The drinks were cold, the food was solid, and I'll absolutely be back. 5/5 stars

The burgers are served on English muffins, which I've never seen before. I'm not the biggest fan of English muffins, but it seemed to be their specialty, I figured I'd try it and I'm glad I did! It was, as the restaurant name suggests, pretty good! I got The Burger and added pepperjack, which was exactly what it was needed. This was a great place to stop in for a casual but good lunch on a cold day walking around Cold Spring.

Delicious and return visit worthy. For our second visit, the family now included an infant. While we had no reservation, at 5:15 pm the joint was empty with the exception of a single table of 3. Literally within seconds of walking in, we were promptly turned away. No checking the book. Nearly zero engagement with us. Just a curt, "We're completely booked. As one native United States of American and one ethnic first generation Indian, we were awestruck by the amicability and kind heartedness of the wait staff. However it took them very long to take orders and were not attentive. It was a Saturday night so they may have just been busy. Moving towards the food now, it is difficult to keep a pleasant humor even thinking about it. The scallops and artichokes were an enigma. The taste of neither the scallops nor the artichokes bore any resemblance to what anyone with a brain and a functioning palette would even begin to think they tasted like. I didn't even want to eat them and scallops are my favorite food. Personally I think it was breading on the scallops but whatever it was I will never repurchase. A symphony in blending flavor and artistic nuance. They were terrible but well presented. As for the mains. The ravioli was incredible, a religious experience, even. Except for the edges which were horrendous. I am a patient woman, having grown up in the proud nation of Uzbekistan, but even I could not begin to fathom what happened to the edges. They were pretty hard unless it was supposed to be al dente then it was impeccably done. Hats off. Overall the cheese ravioli was definitely the best meal we had all night. What can I even say about the pesto pasta with grilled chicken. For over 20 dollars, I was thoroughly let down. The pasta gave me the impression of reinforced concrete, both in presentation and in texture. It was a challenge eating it. On further analysis, the reason it hurt so much is because of what could have been. In a closer examination of the sauce and the pasta itself, I saw glimpses of greatness. Untapped potential that turned what was frankly just a bad dish into one of the greatest sorrows of my life. The texture was very hard and the chicken lacked any form of seasoning and the color blended in with a pasta and seems baked rather than grilled. It brings me no joy to write all of this. But it must be said. 10/10 would totally recommend to friends for the vibes and ambience but 3/10 for food with price. Wait time was a bit much but it's okay.
