Cohen's Fashion Optical is in my neighborhood so that is very convenient. I had an eye exam 8 years ago when they were in the shopping plaza for online glasses. They were very kind when I brought the online glasses in for adjustments. Yes, I had the excellent and free eyewear adjustment. Two years ago I had an annual exam at their Old Country Road address, and that was for reading glasses. I returned to their storefront very recently, I'm still waiting for my new eyewear to come in , and that was for my exam. Now their eye exam is the next level with new and up to date examination technology and a friendly examination tech. So they get five stars for being so close and for representing the exam with an efficacy above average standards. read more

Went there recently because my old glasses had came apart and needed repairs/adjustments. Kassie acknowledged me as I entered the store and was very helpful, taking my info and arranging for service. Within 24 hours, lab technician Anthony called to report that repairs were made and ready for pick up. He did a great job on them. Overall a very pleasant experience! read more

Hello. Sadly I did not take any "BEFORE" pics to share, but I literally just spent about $1,000 on new Swarovski frames and very specialized lenses -- progressives, anti-scratch, UV block, anti-reflective coating -- the whole deal. I wore them less than one week and I SAT ON THEM and TOTALLY bent one of the arms WAYYY OUT OF PLACE!! These frames are quite fragile, metal frames and I didn't know If they could be fixed without snapping, but I took them to Cohen's Fashion Optical in Riverhead and Krista helped me out. She took them to the back and the Lab Tech, Anthony Kowal, carefully fitted the arm back into its position. I think the glasses fit better now than they even did originally! He also tightened a loose fitting older pair of Chanel eyeglasses for me. I expected to pay quite a bit, but, to my great surprise (and delight) the exceptional service was "on the house"! I'll be stopping in when I'm ready for a new set of frames! Thank You, Krista and Anthony -- that's customer service! read more

See all

Krista & the crew over at Cohen's really took nice care of me. I had an updated eye exam, new lenses for my reading glasses & a brand new pair of prescription polarized Maui Jim's. Everything was ordered & arrived in only a few days. That's where I'll be taking my business every time! read more

A wonderful place! Went there to repair my favorite sunglasses that I bought somewhere else. Not only Anthony did it super fast but he also didn't charge me for it. I don't wear prescription glasses, but when I need them I will definitely go there. They have quite a selection! Everyone who works there is super sweet and friendly! I went there during the holidays and they asked me to vote on their very creative handmade holiday miniature displays. That was awesome, really brightened our day. Thank you to Kassie, Latoya and Krista for making our visit so interesting and fun! read more

Wow! This place has really taken a turn for the worse. They used to be great but their service is now terrible and they scammed me with cheap contacts and a rebate that I can't redeem. Take your business elsewhere. I've been coming here since they were located in the Gala mall but I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I saw that there's a new eye glass place in tanger mall. I'll be checking them out soon. read more

My son broke my brand-new sunglasses, and I did not want to bother filing a warranty claim through the company's website so I stopped in to see if they could be fixed. Kassie greeted me right away and assured me it was no problem then Anthony worked his magic and boom they are fixed! They also did not charge me which was super nice of them. Thank you! read more

Whenever my wife and I have an eye exam or need new glasses, contacts, or repairs, we are helped by a team of caring employees. After a recent visit, we left with a feeling that we received excellent customer service from an eye exam conducted by Dr. Miller to all of their customer service associates. Latoya was a tremendous help on our recent visit from ordering our lenses to choosing our frames. We look forward to having all of our future eye care needs taken care of at this location. read more

We needed help with a broken pair of glasses and it was immediately taken care of successfully. The staff was very pleasant and extremely helpful. The price was very reasonable. I most definitely will come back if I need new glasses. read more

They stand behind their product and have fixed and adjusted my frame less glasses for years. Their technician, Anthony is nothing short of a miracle worker fixing my glasses after I stepped on them. Aside from straightening the frames he replaced the bushings making them like new again. The glasses were so mangled, I did not expect they could be repaired. At other times, Anthony has adjusted the sides and aligned the lenses for a proper fit. All the staff is friendly and attentive. There is plenty of parking at their new location. I won't go elsewhere because they have provided great service. read more

Cammy assisted me with my issue immediately. She was polite, professional, and courteous. Great patient care!!

My husband & I went to Cohen's in Riverhead for new glasses and I for a vision test as well. The customer service was excellent. I had an appointment which brought me directly to the technician for required testing. She was very polite and explained all. The eye doctor took the time to answer all my questions and was very professional and caring. . My husband and I are both seniors and patience was appreciated. Shenae Langhorn, Sales Associate, took the time to suggest which glasses were best suited for us and was kind, professional and we felt she had our best interest. We both appreciated her patience and time she took with us. Overall a great experience. We highly recommend Cohen's in Riverhead. read more

Cohen's Fashion Optical - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Riverhead, New York

Purchased a Groupon, big mistake! The deal was $35 for a eye exam and $200 off glasses. Called to tell them so and was repeatedly told it won't cover contacts despite me telling them I hardly ever wear them. Kept suggesting it for $100 more, those RX expire in 1 year if you want to order contacts online, etc. I once again said I just want the eye exam and maybe glasses. "Groupon isn't always the best deal when you come in we can explore options". I had already purchased it a couple of months ago. When I arrived I was told the Groupon is only valid IF I also get glasses OTHERWISE its $50 for the eye exam and the Groupon which I cannot get a refund on any longer (the refund window closed) is not applied to anything as "that's not the offer". Yet when we spoke on the phone if I needed glasses and wanted to also get a contact lens exam for $100 they'd apply the $35 towards my bill. So I spent $35 on a Groupon I can't get a refund on and they'll only honor if I buy glasses. They tried to reassure me that I can find glasses for as little as 150 if I wanted. I said sounds good but I'd like to see them before proceeding. They were massive and junky. When I asked for slightly smaller frames to fit my face the price went up to $350 and combined with progressive lenses at $350 before any coatings and I'd be into it for 700 as a minimum (ok 500+ with the Groupon for glasses only). Seems shady not to mention it in the Groupon nor over the seemingly thorough phone call where everything else was spelled out. I'm out $35 and my time. This is precisely why I've gone elsewhere for prescriptions at customary rates and found glasses online for less than a third of the cost. I'll go someplace to get the RX that is up front. Years ago I went to a Cohens that price matched. I paid almost 1/2 what the original bill was set to be. I didn't even bother this time. read more

W service good service they ain't charge me for fixing my glasses w manz and they where so nice

I am a young mom who had to bring my one year old with me in a stroller which as you can imagine, can be a nightmare but alas, i had no choice. I was helped by two amazing women, Sinead was not only an excellent saleswoman who worked with me and my budget to achieve the look i wanted, but also was so patient and kind with my son when he started acting up a bit. Another woman who helped me during the exam, forgive me i don't know if i got her name, but was also AMAZING and even put a cartoon on her phone so i could do my exam with the doctor. the staff here is so so so wonderful and there's not enough nice things i can say. read more

Great staff. The people who work here are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The prices are high, but that's true no matter where you go. At least here, if there is a problem, they will work their hardest to make it right. Nice, decent people. read more

I honestly don't consider going to get glasses an enjoyable experience; it's something that needs to be done. However, my recent experience changed that. From my eye exam to picking up my finished glasses, the whole experience was Great! Thank you Samantha for your professionalism and friendly demeanor. And Anthony, thank you so much for "resurrecting" a few of my old sunglasses!! Muh appreciated! read more

Just left my new glasses with them. This is the third time they got them wrong. Wrong prescription, glasses aren't sitting right in the frame, one lens darkrns in sunlight, one doesn't - nothing is ever right here. Never going here again. read more

Everybody in here was very nice and comforting ! Especially Samantha! When we were doing the puff of air in my eyes I'm usually really nervous but she made me so comfortable. And everybody behind the counter was really helpful trying to find me glasses that suit me. Thanks again Samantha and the whole team! read more

Would highly recommend not going to these people. The store is a shakedown, they will nickel & dime you. Also if you ever need a copy of your eye prescription for another place or state, they will make it up and not give out the real copy. Beware filling that written prescription. Real copies poses a Dr Signature on them, theirs just has numbers written on them. As for frames & such if you every choose to get an exact copy they have no idea what they sold you in the past to order the same pair. Best advice go someplace else you'll be much happier in the end, and if your insurance covers this place, look closely into where the next place under your insurance is and go there. read more

Horrible people. I was on a business trip and had lost contacts. They would NOT forward my info to the city I was staying in...meaning I was blind! Rot in hell. read more

New management really makes a difference. I've been going here for years and my last appointment was a whole new experience! The new technology made this appointment so enjoyable and all of the employees are as lovely as ever! They dealt with a very rude customer in a calm and collected manor and didn't let her negative energy get them down! Last but not least, mine and my mom's glasses arrived in 2 days! Will definitely be returning to Cohen's optical. :) read more
