Easily the best Optical in all of the hamptons. The selection is great and the staff is beyond helpful. As high end as the neighborhood is, the prices are very affordable. I brought in a pair of very squished Fendi sunglasses (missing one nose bridge, completely flattened and both ear pieces extremely stretched out wide). The sales person asked me to leave them there overnight. The next day around noon I received a call to let me know my sunglasses were ready for pickup. So fast! The sunglasses were completely restored and there's no sign of the previous damage. What's more, there was no fee for the repair! This place has a pretty nice selection of designer eyewear and has fast service, but the associate at this place "MK" has the wrong temperament to work in retail. Her attitude was so consistently nasty at every encounter we shared in the process of getting my new eyeglasses, that I am more relieved to be done with her than I am excited to finally have my glasses. She was not just short with me on the phone when I called to make my appointment, she literally raised her voice at me for asking a simple insurance question. I shrugged it off...maybe she was having a bad day. But she was even nastier in person during my exam, visibly rolling her eyes and balking at my questions and making remarks like "I already said that" etc after I suppose I didn't hear her. Despite being snapped at so many times by this woman I called to follow up on the status of my glasses after 9 days in the 7-10 day window she gave me for delivery. I was specifically gracious and overly polite and she still managed to snap at me "I SAID IT COULD TAKE UP TO TEN DAYS". I won't be using this optician again as a result of this experience. It seems like she's the only employee at the moment as I haven't encountered any other employees other than the doctor, so go in at your own peril, and only if you have a good sense of humor and thick skin. read more

I was on the train from NYC headed towards a relaxing East Hampton's weekend when I realized I forgot my contact lenses. After the initial anxiety I contacted a gentleman named Jesse (I hope that's the right spelling) at Optyx who was beyond helpful, in fact way more helpful than my actual eye doctor's office. I arrived panicking and after speaking with my doctor's office was able to supply me with a 5-days worth of lenses. Its difficult in a resort town to find the level of expertise and customer service that I found at Optyx this week. I lost my only pair of glasses, and Julio went the extra mile to make sure that I was able to get a new pair the next day. He was funny, patient, and clearly knew his business and his inventory. He was obviously here for the summer from one of their other stores, and it makes me want to check out the Manhattan stores when I return. I'm grateful for his help and their service. read more

They really do know there stuff and unlike national chains, they don't try and force you to spend beyond what you want to. I even had a small problem, and they refunded me part of my payment. I couldn't be more thankful. The OPTYX staff helped me by cutting a pair of lenses the same day after another store screwed up. I was a first time customer and was stuck in a jam. The service at the store was extremely prompt and the pricing was great. I will be back to buy a new pair of glasses very soon. I went in here today searching for a new pair of glasses and sunglasses. The salesmen were so helpful, friendly, and just plain nice! No high pressure sales and made me feel comfortable. They also suggested I come in and see their optometrist for an eye exam one Saturday and they also took the time to look up my insurance information. They were helpful in making lens / frame suggestions and cleaned my current glasses. I will definitely be back for an exam and to purchase glasses. I purchased glasses after being mislead by the sales woman. I was told that my frames could not be used so I went ahead and purchased new ones to fit my prescription. Leery, I decided to do some homework, after researching and calling around I found out that I in fact could use my frames. When I questioned the sales woman about this, she out right lied to my face, stating she never said that. After challenging her, she back tracked stating that yes, they could have been used, but they weren't good for distance. Both my husband and myself were floored. Its a shame tho, the optometrist is quite nice and seems to be quite knowledgeable. read more

As soon as I walked in, the place had a great vibe and I didn't feel intimidate or pressured to buy anything. Mary Kay, the manager, was very helpful and my progressive lenses are perfect and were ready within 48 hours. It is wonderful to be able to see clearly again.
