Mushroom & Swiss burger with Onion Rings
Laura S.

We sat in the bar area and the waitress took our drink orders right away but we were ready to order as soon as she brought our drinks but she just sat them down and walked away. She then took a couple other drink orders as we were trying to get her attention a group of their own sports team sponsored group of guys came in and she immediately started taking all their beer orders and filling them all while we were still waiting to order food. Finally ordered food and it came out fairly quickly, however, for a place supposedly known for their wings, I was highly disappointed. They were way over cooked and very dry, and with the sauce so thin (I got the Sweet Chipotle) it just ran off the wings when it was added so you didn't even really have a sauce to help with the dryness. The jalapeño poppers were standard frozen poppers and the burger, though good sized, was just an ok burger. Onion rings were good but again just a standard frozen onion ring. As for the atmosphere, it was not in our wheelhouse, very honky tonk country vibe with loud country music to boot, but I didn't not judge them on that just because it wasn't our cup of tea. Overall we will not be returning.

Wings - honey barbecue and Salt-N-Pepa dry rub

Stopped here on a recommendation from a friend. Overall pretty good. Very casual bar vibe. The wings- ordered 2 flavors - salt and pepper dry rub which phenomenal and a honey bbq was fair. Wife thought it had a odd taste. Onion rings were served hot, good size serving. But the oil tasted a bit old. The Cajun chicken salad was great. The spice level was excellent.

We ordered the sampler platter and it was $15.99 for literally two of everything and not much substance. The dipping sauces of sour cream, marinara sauce, chipotle ranch and ranch sauce which didn't even fill the container was runny. I wouldn't recommend their food selections if their appetizers are this poorly created. Beer was three stars as it wasn't that ice cold like it should be. Decor needs some improvement for a bar and grill. Seats are torn and tables are somewhat warped and need refinished. This could be a great place to hang out if improvements were made to it in a neighborhood that is up and coming. Music was just loud enough to enjoy as well as converse at a level that was appropriate to not have to shout. The wait staff is great and would most likely come back for drinks only and pass on the appetizers. Thanks for the great service - 5 stars

The female bartenders are snotty and treat teenage coworkers with no respect and honestly outright bully them.

They had a nice selection of traditional and craft beers on tap, or you can pick something from the cooler and pay $3 to open it there. Location was roomy, lots of seating, good noise level, several TVs showing a selection of interests, a food truck outside, and a game room in back. Plus a well stocked bottle fridge for takeouts or drink ins. It had a Locals Bar feel instead of the typical trendy pub. We enjoyed a couple of well priced pints and took home 6 choices from the cooler that sounded interesting and were priced decent.

They have an amazing selection of wine and draft beers and cider, plus a cooler full of other great options to drink on site or to go. There are a few wine and beer selections we haven't been able to find anywhere else. And the food is freaking delicious! All the sauces including ketchup are made from scratch, I am thinking we come here for the food as much as the alcohol at this point. Plenty of seats, all the sports games including college ball, great service with awesome recommendations. They also have games all over including two billiards tables. It's a chill place with everything you are looking for - highly recommend!!!

A Hidden Gem You NEED to Try - Don't Let This Place Stay a Secret!…read moreI've been to Sage & Barrel Craft Eatery a few times now, and every visit leaves me wondering why this place isn't packed every single night. We stopped in on a Monday evening and had the whole vibe almost to ourselves--such a shame because this spot is seriously awesome and deserves a full house! The atmosphere is so vibey--warm, inviting, perfectly lit with that perfect mix of casual and upscale that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It feels special without being stuffy, great for date nights, family dinners, or just unwinding with friends over craft beers (their selection is impressive--40+ local options with plenty on tap). But the real star? The food. Everything is scratch-made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care in every bite. Deeply flavorful, innovative twists on classics, generous portions, and consistently excellent. Whether you go for the Nashville hot chicken and waffles, fish & chips, burgers, or whatever catches your eye, it's all done right. No frozen junk here--just real, delicious food that keeps you coming back. Queen Creek (and the East Valley) needs more places like this. Support local, support quality, and help keep this gem thriving so it doesn't disappear. We'll definitely be back--next time on a busier night so more people can discover it! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and go. Tell your friends. Mondays (and every night) deserve Sage & Barrel. You won't regret it.

Unfortunately, our experience at Sage & Barrel in Queen Creek was horrible, and we will not be…read morereturning. From the moment we arrived, the host was not welcoming at all. There was no smile, greeting, or sense that we were happy to be there. Our server was very nice personally, but the service was incredibly disorganized. What made it even more frustrating was that she only had two tables, and the restaurant was not busy. My husband's meal never came out, and she did not even notice that he was still waiting for it. While we were waiting for his food, she brought us a drink we had never ordered. She also filled my kids' lemonades with water. The food was just as disappointing. The salmon was extremely dry and hard, and the pasta noodles my kids ordered were hard as well. After waiting and realizing my husband's meal was never coming, we asked for the bill. At that point, our server actually asked if my husband was ready to order... even though he had already ordered and had been waiting for his meal the entire time. Our bill ended up being high, which made the experience even more frustrating because we spent that much money and left feeling like we received essentially nothing worth coming back for. We all left hungry. Mistakes happen, but this was not one small mistake. It was a series of issues with the service, drinks, food, and basic attentiveness, especially considering the restaurant was not busy. For the amount we paid, we expected a completely different experience. Unfortunately, we will not be back.
