The attention to detail here is awesome. They have wanted posters plastering the walls, but the absolute highlight is the dedicated seating section designed to look like you're aboard the Thousand Sunny. The dynamic background behind the "windows" really elevates the immersion, shifting to make you feel like you're actively sailing the Grand Line. It's a must-sit area if you can snag a table. They also have an awesome selection of exclusive cafe merch near the front register. We ordered a big spread, and the kitchen generally exceeded my expectations for a novelty cafe: -Luffy's Red Hawk Popcorn Chicken: The chicken was perfectly crispy, but it's the tangy sweet and sour sauce coating it that makes it incredibly flavorful. -Zoro's Onigiri (Kimchi Spam): These triangles are huge! They serve them warm, and the savory spam balanced by the punchy, tangy kimchi makes it incredibly filling and a great value. -Gum Gum Ube Horchata: Visually stunning with that classic ube purple swirl, but flavor-wise, it mostly just tasted like a standard cinnamon-forward horchata. It's perfectly sweet and creamy, though the earthy ube flavor gets a bit lost. -Robin's Flower-Flower Power Refresher: True to its name, this is very flowery. It's a beautiful layered mix of blueberry lavender lemonade and butterfly pea flower tea. -Franky's Coke-a-Cola Ice Cream Float: A good ol' fashioned float that can't be beat!

It was a little less slushy than I wanted (I wanted more ice) and a bit sweet but overall not bad! The cafe is a little small but still cute. The tea, brown sugar, and overall drink is done well...except when it comes to the boba. It's terrible. It's not sugar or honey soaked (plain) and soggy AF. I asked them if they had fresh boba and she either didn't seem to know what I was talking about or had no viable options of how to handle this request. On the flip side, my son got 10 minutes playing with cats. If you like boba-less drinks, it's a great deal. If you like boba drinks and love cats, it's still worth it. But if you're a boba lover and don't care for cats, it's a pass. Given the quality of the drinks, if they worked on the boba, it would be so amazing. Also their tablet ordering kept breaking down which caused some backup and confusion.

The Hello Kitty And Friends Café is pretty much what you would expect a tourist-y cafe would be…read morelike at one of the most popular LA attractions, Universal City Walk. I came here with my two friends because we love Hello Kitty and wanted to check it out! I've been to multiple of their locations before, so I had an idea of what to expect - however, if you don't, then here is a run down. It's located in Universal City Walk, which means Universal Studios parking (with validation from AMC) and neighbors Hot Topic, Ben n Jerry's, and a few other fun shops. A lot of tourists are typically on City Walk, as well as people on their way to and from Universal Studios. There tends to be a lot of people no matter the day (for the most part). The cafe doesn't have an inside - so no indoor seating, but they have a small outdoor area that is slightly gated off with some chairs and tables for the cafe specifically. If they're packed, though, most people sit on the wall on the side, or try to find seating somewhere else, although it's nearly impossible. Universal City Walk has a restroom, but Hello Kitty And Friends Cafe does not. Additionally, their menu is pretty limited. This cafe is really a niche spot for people to take their photos and get an Instagram worthy treat. Out of all the food treats, there are no dairy-free and/or gluten-free items. The items they did have featured a mini slice of chocolate cake, a birthday cake, macaroons, and a couple more items. All of the food is premade and comes from a bag, so don't expect anything super amazing. They did have good drinks, though. We got two different types of drinks, my friend and I both getting the same one, being an electric blue lemonade. The drinks were tasty and we'd definitely at least get those again! If you like or even LOVE Hello Kitty, then this location could be worth checking out! If you're willing to make a day out of it at Universal City Walk, or even Universal Studios, then it can be a fun addition! I wouldn't center your entire day around here, as it is a pretty fast grab-and-go style place with no indoor seating, but some seating right in front. The aesthetic for the store's front at least is super cute. Gluten-free and/or dairy-free? Be cautious and just get a drink from them. If you've never been to any of the Hello Kitty And Friends Cafes, then definitely go to this one if the opportunity arises! Otherwise, it's good, but not my favorite location of theirs - slightly smaller, quicker, and limited compared to their other locations.

We never liked the "entrance fee" that I obviously know about and I stand by what I said: ADULTS ARE FORCED TO ORDER THEIR SUBPAR OVERPRICED FOOD FOR ENTRY aside from the entrance fee for their kids. The SGV eats post - I wasn't talking about one post. Geraldyne has posted several times and most of those times people have chimed in with their experiences and she removed her entire posts so people won't find the comments. Once again, trust the low star ratings. If you read them, you'll see a lot of them echo what I've posted here. --- If you have a toddler or a young kid, avoid this place. Read the lower rated reviews, because those paint a more accurate picture than glowing reviews from people who got discounts to this place. Adults are forced to order a meal as an entrance fee, and all the choices are subpar and overpriced. There was only one lovely staff member, an African American woman that unfortunately seemed to have left, because everyone else were not friendly nor helpful, and are barely present. The husband who supposedly cooks the meal made the driest, toughest, inedible steak salad and I couldn't even get help with my meal because there was no staff around to help, and whenever the husband came out, he would just be zipping in and out so fast I couldn't even catch him, and I couldn't leave my daughter by herself. The food choices for kids are also subpar. The play area itself is also subpar. There's very little options to play with, and whatever is there are mostly broken toys or have missing parts. The "separate" area for younger kids are always a huge mess to the point where it's safer for a 1-2 yr old to be in the general area with how disorganized it is. It's nothing but an afterthought, and bigger kids go there to mess up that area all the time No one really goes to clean up or check the play areas periodically, so even though it's part of their "rules", you see kids throwing toys at other kids, kids leaving messes around, etc. The positive reviews about these place are probably from people who've only been there once and have had some sort of discount. As a previous repeat customer who tried to give this place multiple chances, it is nothing but a cash-grab by greedy owners who care nothing about kids. The owner, Geraldine, also loves to promote her business on Facebook groups, and even whine about lack of "support" from people, but when previous customers try to make suggestions or anything remotely resembling a valid criticism, she'll remove the post so no one sees it. It's very dishonest, and shows what kind of people run this business. There are better places to go to entertain kids in SGV, don't waste your time and money here.

We weren't greeted when we came in and we had to seat ourselves because no one addressed us. The employees are nice but very quiet and seem uncomfortable. I felt like they were more unfriendly than even a regular coffee shop employee is... so it was an odd experience. The food is okay but expensive! I went with my partner and just for two dishes, we spent $40. The omurice omelette and chicken katsu were both overcooked. The rice with the chicken katsu was dry too. The curry that came with both dishes looks so sad... just 4 teeny tiny pieces of potato, no carrot or any other vegetable like you'd normally see in Japanese curry. We avoided ordering drinks or appetizers because of the pricing. It seems like there are a lot of card game events here as well, so it can get rowdy from the men who attend. Otherwise it's pretty quiet (but awkward) when there isn't an event going on. Overall it was lacking in what you'd expect for a basic maid cafe concept. The outfits are very cute but other than that it just feels like you're not very welcome here. I was excited to try this place but because of the price and dreary experience, I don't think I'll come back.

When I was there, it didn't seem like staff was doing ENOUGH to stop patrons from behaving innapropriately. The other folks that were there with me were grabbing kitties, waving toys right in their faces, throwing toys at them. This one lady was just completely ignoring the cats body language. It kept hissing and nipping and her and flicking its tail and she just laughed and kept touching it and throwing a mouse toy at its face. It hurt to watch. I wish that patrons were given more instruction on how to approach cats, maybe a little card with some Do's and Don'ts. Not everyone has played with a cat before. I didn't end up petting any of the cats because they all looked like they were not in a mood to be pet. Which, of course, staff can't control. But the cats may be less overstimulated if people didn't poke at em. I was only there for 15 minuites. Maybe the staff was just having an off day. Maybe they are typically better about this I don't know. If any staff see this, I think it would be a good idea to give some of the patrons more direction beyond "don't pick up the cats."

Unfortunately the cafe is closing the physical cafe in March 2026 and I decided to give this place a visit before the shop disappears. [Parking]: Usually the parking lot is pretty empty, but Fujiwara Tofu Cafe hosted the very last Park & Bark event (cars & dogs meetup with the shop's corgi - Hachi) so the lot was packed with customized Japanese cars. I came early enough & found one available spot to park. [Atmosphere]: S-tier interior decor as the entire cafe went all out on the whole Initial D theme from chairs, tables, countertops, merchandise, posters, signs, and glass cases of memorabilia. They even had Gashapon machines ($2.00 = 1 Gashapon token) and two Initial D Arcade Stage Version 3 machines (one machine was out of service). [Ordering]: Customers must order via kiosks and the shop only accepts credit cards (the shop does not accept cash). I came on a bad day as the Park & Bark event attracted a small crowd and I waited 40 minutes before my ordering number was called. The staff said they ran out of specific ingredient for tofu pudding and I ended up requesting to cancel my tofu pudding order. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Fried Tofu and Brown Sugar Tofu. They offer Fujiwara Tofu Cafe paper bag for an extra $0.25 if customers need their items bagged. *** Fujiwara Fried Tofu (came with sweet and sour sauce - $6.86): Tofu pieces were actually fried quite nicely, but portion was pretty small. Fujiwara Plain Soymilk ($5.86): Soymilk itself tasted alright and didn't taste very concentrated, but I was disappointed that the plastic cup didn't have the signature "Fujiwara Tofu Cafe" logo on it. *** While I am a huge fan on the overall Initial D theme decor and merchandise, I have to give a big thumb down on slow service + small snack portion + ran out of multiple food/drink items.

Be aware though because sometimes they will host car-meet and on those days / nights, the plaza and surrounding streets are usually packed with cars so you won't be able to find parking.
