I had an Americano and my wife a cold brew. Both were average I'd even say my Americano was in the poor end. Now that being said they sell a lot of different varieties of beans. I found an Ethiopian light roast that I am partial too and brought it home. These beans were great. So all that said bottom line they sell 5 star beans. The only downside or thing to know is that this location will not accept Spyhouse giftcards because it is part of the hotel. I came wanting to use one, so this was a bummer but I understand and the barista was very apologetic. As a side note about the business, it's impossible to check your giftcard balance online. So while I'd like to use my giftcard, I'm unsure if I will realistically be able to soon!

It's a dry (not oily), medium-dark roast that looks a lot like SB or C house blend or maybe a bit more toward Italian. It may make a great cup, but IMO, it's not a French Roast. When I was young I drank FR, black, all the time. These days I rarely drink plain coffee and I use espresso roast or Italian roast when making my cappuccino. A true FR is just a bit too smokey for me. This bag could just be from one bad roast by a novice roaster. Or maybe some newbie put the coffee in the wrong bag. Anyway, you are on notice and should a least ask some questions.
