It was ok, I had to stop for coffee somewhere & this came up on the way to the DMV. I waited in silence for about 2 to 3 whole American minutes for someone to take my order while the baristas worked on orders. I wanted a hazelnut latte with half & half but the cashier told me they were unable to do that. I noticed the gorgeous espresso machine & thought to myself, hm...that's odd, to my knowledge it's definitely possible. The girly at the counter was pretty firm about not being able to make that so I ordered their "Instigator Latte". It was ok, the breakfast burrito was fine. Nothing you can't get at a local Mexican restaurant for less. This coffee shop will not make lattes with half & half, but more than likely any other coffee shop in Long Beach will. I was already intrigued about this place by the name of it, Coffee Drunk, I mean, is that not intriguing? Well, it definitely reeled me in. Coffee Drunk is a cute little cafe in Long Beach. There are several locations within Long Beach, but this one is specific to the one on Wardlow Road. When my husband and I went, they were getting ready to close, so we barely made it. They do close pretty early in my opinion, 2:00pm, but that's just me. I'm sure they have their reasons. Anyways, the space itself was super cute with seating. They have a variety of different drinks to pick. You have you regular, basic drinks, or how they like to say, "The Originals". Or you can go with something a bit more fancy. Gotta love this old school strip mall with terracotta tile edging. Inside playing some epic tunes. Employees were very welcoming. Clean lines, minimal decor, absolutely perfect interior. CoffeeDrunk definitely knows what they're doing. The coffee was on point.... balanced, smooth, and clearly crafted by baristas who know their roast profiles and extraction. You can tell they take their craft seriously. Service was solid too. Friendly baristas who kept things moving while still giving attention to detail. My only wish is that they offered larger sizes and a wider range of flavors or seasonal rotations. It would be great to have more flexibility for those who want to linger a bit longer with their drink. Still, the quality is undeniable. I had to try CoffeeDrunk, it feels like a Long Beach must! I got the barista's favorite and it tasted a lot like almond extract which wasn't bad because their coffee they use is so tasty. It is a cute little coffee shop. I love the name pretty catchy. I am not drinking coffee at the moment tried the matcha it was iced with oak milk. The matcha I would not recommend it taste more like milk than the Matcha it tasted water down so it's not as strong as I am use to having them . I would have to try the coffee to review it . I think it's a shop meant to grab your coffee and go-- not a linger-around-and-enjoy-the-WiFi-on-your-laptop type of place. The plants there were thriving and the displayed merch was so cute! Finally found my favorite coffee shop since moving to Lakewood. Conveniently located 3 minutes from work also! The roast and flavor they use for Instigator and On My Way has been solid. It's very balanced without overpowering the taste of the coffee. However, I've tried their ube latte, and sure, the ube was good (they use Ube from Gemmae's ), but the roast makes the ube taste like a toasted ube. I still love my Instigator, On My Way, and the Blue Berry Latte, though, so all good! Lastly, the cashier and baristas are always friendly whenever I come in, so that's a plus. in town visiting this was my 3rd coffee place during my visit. With sooo many coffee places here i had gotten it down to 3 places i for sure wanted to try before i left. This one was one of them. Maybe it was the location but all i ordered was the pistachio latte which was so basic i had no idea why it was on reviews. To me it was terrible Maybe i ordered the wrong thing. apon entering this was no menu on top just on the counter which i only saw a handful of drinks not even the ones other reviews were mentioning. It took 15 mins to make my drink. No it wasn't busy at all. The environment is small with no seating more like a grab and go place. This was the closest location to me at the moment. Maybe the other locations are better i'm not sure but i wouldn't come back to this one. read more

The staff is super friendly and making conversation with the customers asking how everyone's day is. They recommended the investigator and butterscotch latte. I got the butterscotch latte hoping it would taste like the butterbeer from Harry Potter world. I would say it needs more flavoring of the butterscotch but it is still pretty good. The reason why I gave this a 4 star is because this location is not a great location to work or study. There's no wifi. The parking is street parking. The stools and tables are small and tiny that you have to hunch over to do work and your laptop won't fit the table. There is no public restrooms. My recommendation is if they want more customers is to open till 5 pm, have wifi, and bigger tables. Oh also allow bathrooms! This is the only coffee shop in Long Beach that's different from everywhere else. But overall I really wanted to give them a 5 star. read more

Been wanting to try this place out for a while now. So when you pass by unexpectedly, you plan to visit the next day since you were unable to stop. First off, the coffee shop is on Wardlow, which can get busy at times. They have a second location but this one is more convenient. There is only street parking and there isn't always a spot but since we stopped by in the morning it wasn't too bad. The shop is pretty cool and has the same vibe as other coffee shops in the LBC! Staff were great and the drinks were made fast. I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Instigator and it was yummy. Not on the sweet side which was a plus. Plus, they have milk substitutes which were great. Price is similar to any other coffee shop but I definitely recommend to try this place out. Plus, the merch is really cool and I might stop by again to get some swag. read more

My Son picked the Iced Bitter Late Than Navel Latte which is muddled orange shaken w/ house vanilla syrup, cardamom bitters, espresso & milk... WOW This was really good and something different which is really nice!!!!! The baristas/staff were friendly and patient with me as I explored their menu. After getting an overview of their coffee, I decided to try The Instigator, which is their claim to fame. This drink comes iced only, and has maple and brown sugar. It was delicious, and definitely makes me excited about trying additional coffee drinks at CoffeeDrunk. As confirmed by the manager this place's main priority is profit not customers. Small and large drinks have the same amount of coffee in them. If so what's the point of ordering a larger drink, I don't want more milk, sugar and ice. I want more coffee. At $7 dollars a drink the owners should be ashamed of themselves. How much are you really saving by not adding one additional shot of espresso for a larger size? Surely not as much as you lose from potential returning customers being turned off by this. The greed is also apparent in the location. It is designed in a way that promotes getting customers in and out quickly with very uncomfortable seating and drastically overpriced merch for sale taking up what little space is available. read more

Not sure if the staff was new and introverts but when I walked in, I saw 2 drinks waiting on the counter and they waited another 10 minutes to call it out for the customers it belonged to. They made no effort in letting them know it was ready, and it wasn't even busy. They just let their drinks sit. Then upon waiting on me and my husband's drink, his was ready first. Waited for 8 minutes and then the put a drink right next to his, read the order number and considered it done. They didn't call us. But my husband approached and grab the drinks and said "ours right?" And they looked at us like we were the confused ones. The girl said "no- that one is yours, this one isn't. We are still making the other drink." So why did they throw the order number away when they looked at our drinks, nodded and touched both drinks. So they she made my drink, called me up and said "I messed up your drink. Give me another few minutes" So we waited a total of 17 minutes and it wasn't even busy. Our afternoon visit had a short line with a good amount of people sitting indoors & outdoors as well as standing near the drink pickup area. The decor is bright, modern, and I dig the monochromatic trippy pattern on the walls. Hubby had The Instigator which was only $2 during opening day. It's an iced espresso drink shaken with maple, brown sugar & a touch of milk. Based on that one drink, Hubby said he likes CoffeeDrunk better than another local coffee spot. A drink on their seasonal menu caught my attention and I ordered the Blueberry Brown Sugar Latte with almond milk and subbed the espresso for matcha. Tasty stuff! For a drink that contained house-made blueberry syrup and brown sugar, I appreciated that it wasn't very sweet. A gorgeous mix of colors too! I dropped in during their soft opening week in the afternoon and had an iced Instigator, which is a shaken espresso over maple, brown sugar and opted for almond milk for an extra $1 (wish it didn't cost that much for non-dairy). But it's a nicely crafted drink if you're looking for something sweetened with a slightly milky texture. It's a perfect afternoon pick-me-up! Typically, I drink black coffee, but I reserve that for my mornings. They don't roast their own beans, but they are the only shop I've been to that features 49th Parallel from Vancouver--one of my favorites. Looking forward to coming back! I've been to the 4th st location with my fiancé. I didn't know this location was open. Decided to come since it's my day off and it down the street from me. Got the shaken main squeeze as it was recommended by the cashier/ barista. She was the only one working but i didn't have to wait too long. There was only one person in front of me. Coffee has good flavor can taste the subtle hints of the muddled orange. I don't know how strong it's going to be. The one on 4th wasn't that strong. I'll come back and take my fiancé to this location to see her take in it. It is a little pricey but worth a try. If you sign up right now you get $2 coupon. Recently shocked. I was an every day goer. I've been going to the Long Beach one for the last two years, the staff have been the place that make this spot the best. With so many places now making good coffee, it really does come down to the service and vibe of a place these days. I was shocked to turn up recently and all the staff were gone, replaced, let go in one swoop. Kind of stunned to be honest. A fantastic addition to Retro Row! I'm a diehard vanilla latte or americano fan and this place delivers! Note that they only offer whole, oat, or almond milk so soy lovers are out of luck, but I've never regretted stopping by. Another favorite are their croissants, which are among the best in the area (a solid 7.5/8 which is more that can be said for a coffee shop at the other end of 4th). Unfortunately, the tables are small and meant more for chatting than working. The bar seats do not have local outlets so working for hours on a laptop isn't an option either. Come for the coffee and treats over a quick read or as a meetup, but don't expect to come here to work. read more
