I'm always on the look out for a place that makes arepas. It's crazy how this place is a 5 minute drive from work, and I never knew about it. Guess where I found out about it? Yelp, of course! haha I decided to get a cheese arepa and coffee to go. The arepa was pretty yummy! It wasn't overly cheesy, as I've had in the past. Unfortunately for all the close by offices and homes , they don't deliver , u can drive by it if you don't keep your eyes open. Ordered an iced latte that tasted more like coffee-flavored milk. So disappointed. Anywhere with "coffee" in their name should be able to make decent espresso drinks. The cashier was completely apathetic and didn't offer to try and fix the drink, just said "That's a latte." Then I noticed they offer a Vegan item, only to see fresh mozzarella in the ingredients. This is a great breakfast location or a spot to get a quick lunch. Just ordered an Uber Eats order from here. I got 2 arepas; the breakfast arepa with chorizo, and another standalone chorizo arepa. First off, they used andouille sausage in both of the arepas, and burned ALL the meat. In addition to that, the pandebono that I ordered was stale and nasty. ~8.50-9 bucks an arepa, I definitely expected better. Save a trip. Go to your local mom and pop shop that serves better food for cheaper. read more

I've been to Coffeecol a few times now to try as many items on the menu as i possibly can, mainly their arepa dishes (and for those of you who don't know what an arepa is- all i know is they are made of corn(meal?) and a healthier, delicious substitute for bread!) ...so far everything I have tried is so savory and delicious! I highly recommend the Chicken Ranch and Strip Steak arepas. My friends really love The Queen arepa. I cannot wait to go back and try more! I love that you can also customize the arepa to your liking. The place is very clean and cozy. Offers free wifi so I can get work done if I really want. And the staff is very friendly. Excellent spot for a caffeine fix before a long drive. Located on Teaneck Road on your way to the highway of your choice. Freshly ground beans produce a strong coffee and excellent flavor. Café con Leche (medium) is $1.50. It's perfection. They also offer a free rewards program, which, of course, I signed up for. Clean, fast, VERY well-priced, and good product. This is a wonderful place in the heart of Teaneck. The coffee is freshly ground, I always get Cafe con Leche. I go with a bunch of friends after we drop off our kids. The staff is friendly and the place is has a comfortable atmosphere. We order Arepas they are delicious. The do have pastries and other dessert items, soup, lunch and dinner entrees. Coming from a Colombian background I loveeee arepas and whenever I can find new places that make them I like to give them a try. I went here on my lunch break and the cafe itself is really cute and cozy. I ordered the Queen Arepa and I added bacon too it because I love avocado chicken and bacon together. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. The arepa masa (what makes the arepa) was bland, as well as what was the inside of it. The guacamole and chicken needed salt and some flavor thankfully the addition of bacon helped a little but overall not that great. If someone asks for a recommendation for a good arepa this wouldn't be my first thought. What saves it is the pricing. It was a decent size for only about 6$ however Im sure I'd find an arepa with the same price point and more flavorful elsewhere. read more

Wow, this is opened at 6am, on a Saturday! That alone deserves 3 stars, then add on the service, and the food, what an awesome spot! Before hiking, we stopped by here to fill up on something hearty. We ordered El Paso arepa and the Skirt arepa. El Paso was delicious and hearty, very hearty to the point we couldn't finish it. It was like a burrito filled with chorizo, beans, plantains, and jalapenos. Great flavor and will definitely fill you up for hours. Skirt steak arepa was much lighter in weight, and unfortunately, also in flavor. The skirt steak wasn't seasoned very well so it just tasted bland. Our hostess brought us some spicy sauce as well as russian dressing so it make the food a bit more flavorful. I didn't get to try their breakfast arepas but there were several choices to choose from that sounded very good. Definitely worth a revisit if you're on the way through Teaneck from NYC going upstate or another destination west. read more

I emailed this restaurant with some significant allergy concerns ( wheat and egg). They emailed me back quickly with the most detailed, caring answer I have ever received. I ordered lunch from them a few days later. The order included Colombian Empenadas, an El Paso arepa and cheese arepa . Everything arrived hot and within an hour. The whole order was 28.00 and was a TON of food. Each item was absolutely delicious. My partner and I are canaries in a coal mine with our allergies and have zero reactions. We ordered from them earlier today thru uber eats. I got an arepa with cheese, my hubby got a cheeseburger/fries combo and an iced coffee, we also ordered plantains and a chicken sandwich/fries combo. Delivery came quickly, which is great. However, they only brought the chicken sandwich and one order fries, nothing else. I called and the man i spoke to wasn't very pleasant or helpful. I wasn't rude at all, in fact my phone records all calls so I went back to listen and make sure I wasn't rude out of frustration. I wasnt. We were finally able to determine it was uber eats fault, not theirs, but the way it was handled turned me off to this place. We did get the missing items redelivered. This time the iced coffee is missing! I know it's not uber eats fault this time because I had the uber customer service person read my order back to me so I can confirm it's correct. I wouldn't order from this place again. It's a shame because the food is actually really good. That's why I gave 3 stars. And to be clear, I'm not reporting on uber eats error, I'm reporting on the way the employees at the restaurant handle customer issues. Not cool at all. read more

We also shared a few empanadas, which were flaky and buttery. Sauces on the side are a great addition to the arepa too. There's a large coffee selection as well. Coffeecol is great! Came here with my sister on a Sunday for brunch after a friend recommended it. I ordered the cappucino which looked awesome in the photos and it was delicious! There was no one in the store so service was very quick and the girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I was so excited to try the arepa for the first time. I ordered the El Paso Arepa (chorizo, black beans, jalapeno, white cheese and plantains) and my sister ordered The Queen Arepa (shredded chicken, guacamole, tomato and white cheese). We both thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches, they were very filling and came out very quickly! The Arepa was good, kind of like pita bread on the outside but potatoey on the inside, yummy! They also came with a spicy sauce and pink sauce which complimented the sandwiches perfectly and added that extra kick. It was also great price-wise, they have very reasonable prices. Just be aware they charge a fee if you use a credit card and it's less than $20, the cashier told us this before, the fee is only 50 cents so no big deal to me. Overall Coffeecol was a great find, great food, reasonable prices and good vibes. Definitely recommend trying it! read more

Friendly ownership, very classily decorated....they definitely knew how to tailor their business to attract the locals. The chairs are not restaurant style hard wooden chairs like in a typical cafe...these are like big comfy armchairs...which for my toddler, was great because he actually sat down and stayed there for a bit.
